I ordered two sets of wardroble rails on March 16, it's now April 25 and they still don't have a delivery date! How a company this size has such a slow delivery is beyond me. I'll never buy anything from them again.
I bought an item for my father before Christmas. The item was given on Christmas Day. The following day he left the country for 3 months to visit family overseas. When he returned in early March, we had the opportunity to discuss the item. He said that it would not work for him. I spoke with customer service@ Rockler. The first few people could only read from the script…"more then 90 days, pound sand." Finally I talked to Lexi In customer service. She agreed to a refund less a 25% restocking fee. The refund was also in the form of store credit only. I agreed to that but then the bombshell was dropped. I have to pay $115 return shipping. So for a $406 item that I'm returning SEALED AND UNOPENED in its shipping container, I'm getting a net refund of $255. Seems pretty shady for a company to do this and then sell the item at full price again.
I do agree that I am outside the all holy 90 mark but circumstances prevented that. There is no comparison, there is no understanding. Your company is too black and white. I have worked in retail for more then 30 years. I have been in management for 20 of those 30 years. I values my members that walk through my door. I would have taken care of them especially since the item has never been opened. This was the first time I bought online from Rockler. I have shopped in the stores and have been very pleased.
This whole experience has turned me off to your company. I know that this will fall on deaf ears and I expect no response. I'm just a number, a quick buck. I'm sorry I won't make this mistake again.
Rockler's website shows free shipping on orders $50 or more, yet they keep trying to charge me twelve bucks for shipping, and their site is slow slow slow to load images and update cart prices. Their store-branded products are average at best -- the blue aluminum clamps in particular are a pain in the butt to use and very poorly designed -- no matter how cheap they may be on sale, don't buy them; you will regret it every time you use them.
I placed an order on Monday then spoke with the representative, they confirmed that everything was ready to ship then after 5 days called to check they didn't ship the order spoke with supervisor and they didn't helped at all
My husband is building a his dream workshop and Rockler was offering a $100 credit toward an expensive dust collection system he needed, and Rockler's products ARE good quality so he chose to buy their system. He was charged the full amount, without the $100 credit. He called Rockler and has spent over an hour with different people, explaining the situation - all he's been told is that on their end, he seems to have gotten the $100 credit. He offered to send them his credit card statement showing the amount he was charged. Waiting now for someone higher up to call him back and offer a resolution (even if they want to keep this full amount and send another $100 credit, if it's easier for them). After reading other reviews it sounds like we'll be waiting to hear from someone for quite a while, if ever. *We are not people who leave reviews, not complainers, not "Karens" but we both work in customer service - we understand that mistakes happen, but our employer bends over backward to remedy issues to keep customers happy. (If Rockler remedies this quickly I will delete this review, as I have no desire to complain unless it's warranted.)
I followed their return instructions exactly as told. They say they never got it but USPS shows it delivered. The aren't giving me my money back and have my product. So I'm out $400 plus the $57 that I paid for return shipping. Plus the tools were poor quality and over priced. Don't buy anything from them.
Please never buy from this company. I emailed to cancel my order after realizing they were price gouging the item. They credited my bank account I got an email the next day saying that they were sorry they couldn't cancel the item because it had already shipped which was a lie. I called the store to confirm they told me they didn't even have the item in yet. They said it had to come to their store before they could even ship the item. They told me that they could cancel it when they received it in at the store before it shipped. Then I get an email hours later saying again that they cancel the order when it never even shipped the first time they stated it did
Will never buy anything from them again. Got a coupon in the mail for free shipping on orders over $49. Was shocked to see a $50 dollar shipping charge. When I called them next morning, they said the order already shipped out, and there was nothing they can do.
I was thinking about purchasing a product from Rockler.com, but I wanted to see what it would end up costing in Canadian dollars. Initially I was impressed at their notice to Canadian customers about the new tax/duty rules. Unfortunately I was NOT impressed for long! The website indicated that the duty and taxes would be an additional $34.40. According to their website the product I was interested in, was on sale for 119.99US. However, when I went to the checkout page the subtotal in Canadian was $170.72. Considering this was without the $34.40 duty & taxes it seemed much too high. When I checked the conversion rate from US to Canadian on several different sites, I confirmed that they were over charging customers. On this day the conversation rate was 1.33, which means the subtotal should have only been $159.80. Not only would customers be over charged $10.00, but as you can see in the photos, it would also result in inappropriate duty and tax amounts as well. Just to see if this was a isolated incident with 1 item, so I checked a separate unrelated item. The cost was $124.99US, which should have been $166 Canadian. However, Rockler.com once again showed a inaccurate inflated subtotal of $177.84. There website even states that the additional $35.31 for duty & taxes is based on this inaccurate amount of $177.84. This is even more of an over charge then the previous item. With today's technology, there is absolutely no reason for this to occur. Conversation rates do change, but the rates are set for the entire day. So you are supposed to pay the rate for the day you purchased the item(s). A company does NOT get to decide what rate or amount they charge This is something I take very seriously, because I believe it is an indication of a company's business practices and ethics. I started to wonder if their pop up message about the new tax/duty rules and duty calculator is an attempt to gaslight and hide these inaccurate amounts. JMO. Customers should be very careful and if they do decide to purchase anything, they should do their own calculations to make sure everything is correct!
Bought an XL cribbage board template and was delivered with wrong hardware. A 1/4" and errantly a 1/8" peg to hold in place. Of course the jig moved and caused a 10' natural edge walnut board to be ruined. They did the sorry thing and offered me a 25$ gift card for rockler as if i will ever buy from them again. The customer service was so painfully slow to respond but their bots sure are put to use. Their products are so sub par. They sure weed out negative reviews on rockler sight. Wow just learn from my pain. I informed you thusly. Never under any circumstances buy anything mechanical from them.
We needed new hinges for our repainted kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Went to Rockler with the old hinges to make sure we got the right size for the new hinges. They measured the old ones incorrectly and told us to get the wrong size for the new ones. Went back to Rockler with the wrong hinges they gave us, no apology. They only had half of what we needed in the correct size. Told us they automatically restock the hinges and we would have the rest by Friday. Called to check on Wednesday and were told there is no order or restocking scheduled. Try looking on Amazon. We should have done that in the first place and will never shop at this terrible store again.
They sent me warped twisted wood and did not respond to ANY request. I eventually escalated a claim to paypal but was denied a refund. Rockler sent me a return label but NEVER refunded my money. Now I have no product and lost my money. ONLY deal with these people if you use a legitimate credit card. In fact...just don't
My wife bought my Christmas gift from the Rockler Store in Anaheim. A piece from that tool came off on 2nd use. When I went in to ask for help, all they said was "call the manufacturer." It wasn't the fact that they told me to call, it was the tone and complete "hands off" approach they used with me. It's nice to have a woodworking store to view things, but I wouldn't buy from them again. There are so many great tool companies out there. Tickler's niche is having a store to touch products, not in the best customer service for sure. I'll take the time on YouTube and The Web to find better products at much better rates and use Rockler only occasionally to touch things.
I ordered an item not stocked in the stores or by Rocklers. I went to our local store to order. I told them that I would need to pay additional freight. No I was assured. Rocklers claims they sent an email asking for the additional freight. I do not know where they sent it but I did not get it. I did get the email canceling the order. I am now 2 weeks behind on the project. There is a reason why in the last year we have spent 1/20th the amount with Rocklers than with one of their competitors. If you can avoid them do so. If not expect poor service.
Been into the Kennesaw GA store a few times over the past couple months and their A/C has been broken. Can't stand going in there any longer, way too hot and feel sorry for their employees who have to work in those conditions all day. They keep telling me corporate is working on it but doesn't sound like they are working on it too hard.
Steer clear of Rockler, especially their wood slabs. I really thought if there was someone I could trust to sell me a decent slab it would be Rockler. Wrong. I ordered this $179 slab (+ $20 to ship) and it arrived with a big gouge in the side and was so twisted warped it's almost useless. I requested a return and they said our site says " may ship with or without bark. We would not consider this defective." The no bark was not the issue. The gouge and the twisted slab are the issue. This junk should have been made into kindling to start a nice campfire up there in MN. I spent all day trying to get return info. Finally got it and found out it will cost me $53 to return via UPS. That on top of the extra $20, I have decided it's not worth it. Plus, they will just sell it to somebody else who will be very unsatisfied. It's obvious they don't care too much. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years with Rockler, my friends as well. No more. Really too bad.
I attempted to purchase a bench from Rockler online, and immediately had problems. Initially, my order was put on hold because they claimed my address was incorrect for my payment method. I double checked with Rockler and it was indeed entered correctly, so was told to get in contact with my bank. I contacted my bank, and once again the address was correct, so called Rockler back again. After having a conversation with a very terse customer service agent, I thought I finally had the payment go through and was on my way to receiving my bench. The initial lead time would have been 2 months, but seeing as I wasn't in a rush I went along with it. I waited until the month my bench was supposed to arrive, and lo and behold my order had apparently not gone through, but also I never received any notification that the order had been cancelled. Final analysis: incredibly rude customer service agents, lack of transparency on lead times, substandard communication. Save yourself some time and buy your woodworking tools from a more reputable source.
I ordered an INCRA RULE 12", that was in stock, on a Thursday morning from the west coast of the US (order details show lunch time, I assume they are Central US time). I paid for 3 day shipping for my item. My ruler was ~35$ and the shipping literally doubled the price of my order - shipping was ~$38. But I didn't care because I wanted my item. I go off to do my thing, safe in the knowledge I'll have my thing in 3 days. So, when? Monday maybe? Uh, no. I go check my order on Friday and it hasn't shipped yet. What? Rats. Saturday rolls around and THEN I get a notice from Rockler that my thing shipped. And the 3 days starts on the following Monday. It's shipping via UPS and I have had zero success with them delivering anywhere close to their delivery window lately. So I paid Rockler for expedited shipping and effectively got "ground" shipping. They got a nice bonus from me though. It's a small amount, but this is why I use Amazon. I won't order from Rockler again for this reason.
I try to buy locally to support small business in my community but I saw an item on Rocklers website, a dust collector, that really impressed me with it value and accessories. Once I purchase it all I get is one piece of the puzzle. I called rockler they tell me the picture is not what is being sold the picture is showing you that what is being sold how it works. I told the sales rep that I thought that was a very weak response to poor advertisement and now it leaves me frustrated and in a broken relationship with rockler. The sales rep didn't care that a relationship was broken and was very argumentative and sassy. Didn't even offer a resolve, all she wanted to do was argue about how right they are and how stupid I am literally. So I'm telling you now if you buy anything from rockler‘s website you're gonna need to call them to to confirm what is it that I am looking at at buying is it the entire was pictured or am I just buying a nut and bolt that isn't pictured but you show me how it looks when everything is put together, in the real world rockler this is called a scam. And the tragedy here is at the rockler store locally it's good people good people that sell rockler products. Very disappointed in you rockler.com!
I order on line on a regular basis as we live in a small town, where there is not a lot of tool shopping options. Regardless, trying to order on Rocklers web page is beyond a nightmare. Nothing shows up correctly and I had to change every aspect of my order in the cart when I got that far after numerous misdirected attempts. Once it came time to pay, the free shipping claim was to say the least, difficult if not impossible to get to show up on the cart. Needless to say, I finally was able to return to the cart, delete every item and send them a message to insure that all has been deleted and not to charged me for any reason. Doubtfull that I will hear from them after seeing their customer service ratings on line. They are being rated as a 1 only because this site will not allow it tobe a zero.
Answer: Nope can't share a success story. They have piss poor shipping and product goes out, no notice at all.
Answer: And their customer service is non existing Horrible company, never buy there
Answer: They're legit, but have really inconsistent quality and crummy customer service.
