Just started 4 weeks ago, got messaged by a couple producers, its an investment, I find. Its a slow burn but you gotta do some promotion work too, that can be tedious. I got on the radio from this platform as well I'll give it a year or 2
Reverberation has allowed someone to steal my banking information and spend $270 on their services without any authorization from me. Nobody answers the phone or even responds to emails. I need to find out any information possible about who has stolen my information for a police report!
I agree with all other that have voiced that there are constant notifications with the false pretense that you are crawling the charts with popularity... each of these ending with a request for money. Most musicians are not making much money off of this site, so it is very disturbing they they will ask for money so much. How about they provide some demographics or stats on all of these avenues that they claim will promote your band. Save your money and invest in a new guitar instead of the many ReverbNation scams
I really can't imagine that superstars like Imagine Dragons for example should also be present at ReverbNation (ok, I hope the guys quickly realized what frauds the Reverbnation holding are).
That was just a fake claim by ReverbNation, a very miserable marketing trick to lure unsuspecting musicians.
Otherwise, as many previous posters told again and again, I must unfortunately confirm, one is ripped off at ReverbNation as a musician only, false statistics are added. Promotion for musicians at ReverbNation? A lie, they do nothing for us. Except take our money. I'm done with ReverbNation, I don't want to deal with scammers like them any longer and I don't want to be annoyed anymore.
Reverbnation's only usefulness is as a site where you can host songs in order to share them. I noticed very early that if you submitted songs to their "opportunities" that you got the identical rejection letter regardless of whom you submitted it to. If you send them money, your name will go up their area charts and when you don't it will go down. I entered mine in an area with zero other singer songwriters and remain #1! Ha ha!
ReverbNation can help you get your fans up but that's really about it,They make you buy a plan even tho basic plans usually free theirs is 12.95 you enters contest that you never win I been there since March of last year never selected for anything yet.i eventually ended up unsubscribe which you can't do anything frfr except post and get fans. Wish this app was more affective
Anything that was once good about this site, is long gone. Now they send you thousands of notifications telling you how great your band is and how well it's trending and all these opportunities that you've qualified for! If, you're willing to pay them a monthly fee. Short of a landing page, don't waste your time.
If you're willing to work hard enough and put your money into your band to get anywhere with this site. You would get further without them. That money is best suited somewhere else. That hard work will do you more good somewhere else.
Maybe in the past they had bad staff. But I can only talk from my experience. My name is MainChorusMaine. If you're a musician who works everyday on making your last song better than your last song, than Reverbnation does share your passion and will work with you in getting your passion shared around the world. If you pay the money. Below are my song Reviews. As you see my Bad comments look real but my good comments are obviously Fake. I appreciate them pushing me in front of their app, platform, and even when I look up my name on Google, I find my content and so forth. But if they going to lie to me and say they giving me false promises, well, I rather not use them.
I have recently put in numerous requests to have songs removed and they mistakely removed 1 song i made a mistake to be removed, figured out the songs i needed to be removed and requested them multiple times and also apologized twice for my mistake as it was a genuine mistake due being frustrated to the fact my personal online identity is tied to this person still as this person has caused many hardships in my life and i got away from them. Now asking for help to get these 2 songs removed only to keep getting my tickets closed with no valid reason. Im pretty frustrated with your company. If you need screen shots for proof please I will provide my inventory...
After 2 years of paid distribution I canceled the 3 year. I was really sick at the time and may have crossed over them taking the funds. I contacted paypal for as refund. Reverbnation had every opportunity to contest this refund in accordance with the paypal agreement! ReverbNation then blocked my account holding my song's, info and royalties hostage until I reversed the refund! Even though they were paid in full and held my money for 20 days before the refund they claim it was a chargeback when it was a non-contested refund! Even though the refund closed the transaction they claim it's still open!
It may be another platform to promote music, but it almost seems unknown. To those that know about it, they kind of use it. Sure. Reach like minded musicians. However, if you should pay for a crowd review, be ready for biased "unbiased" opinions. We are a metal band, and submitted to metal reviews, and of our 13 songs, only two "made the cut". We accept that. Not everyone likes it. What we don't accept, is all, not some, but all of the negative reviews (scores 1-4) were from people not in our demographic. They are listeners of top 40 music, and their comments had to do with "it not being my style" or "sounds too heavy for my tastes". For people who listen to metal and rock, our average was an 8.5. Hmmm... weird. Reverb nation, waste of money in promotions. Put your money into Facebook bumps, YouTube, or hell, just buy stickers and post em on lamp posts. Then you'll reach the "same target audience"
Trust and loyalty. Two things ReverbNation have forgotten. I was disappointed to log into my ReverbNation account to see many of my songs had disappeared. I realised I could no longer load new songs above a certain size. It appears ReverbNation requires more money to host material and that's where our relationship ends. Having been loyal to the site, paying for features and privileges over the years the least I expected were the goalposts to remain the same, I didn't receive any warning or notifications of changes. Now everything has changed. From now on ally my material will be withdrawn including all links and I'll be warning artists of ReverbNation and their clinical ways. It's a shame because the site had potential but as we shortly move into 2016 there are infinitely better sites out there for artists, my fear for you is that the site will go the same way as MySpace. Poor show guys.
Been to Number #1 on charts 1 a couple times in Nashville music demographic, it did nothing for advancing me as an artist, writer, network songs or contacts., no emails, no phone calls, other than other artist posting on RN.
I have had some serious play / hit numbers on a couple songs, and made like $4. The one good thing, you are able to post work on Spotify, which is real. Not going away and its easier to say to people... look us up on spotify
I purchased an mp3 album from reverbnation site and never got working download link. However my credit card was of course instantly charged. When I contacted their support with complaint they told me I should contact Audiolife instead since it is them who run their store. So I contacted Audiolife which at first pretended they will solve my problem but then nothing happened. After waiting a month I sent them (Audiolife) another urgency email but the only result was they deleted the store page as well as my tickets and never answered me again. Needless to say I got no refund. It was little money of course so not worth further trouble for me, but I will surely never buy anything ever from audiolife (or reverbnation) again. They seem to be basically the same company.
I am a band a manager and concert organizer that i search for bands to play in concerts i create, one artist turned out to be 100% fraudulent i did my home work and before i hired him found not one claim was factual. My emails and voice mail are ignored. By the company all i get is you are in status cue 2 as on hold for sometime then leave a message and will call you back, not one of my say 5 calls returned nor answered, i think it a at home company with a husband and wife team. I was nearly taken by the "artist" his claims were just way too much to believe and my hunches proved right, be careful..
Curious how many other musicians have had money stolen from Reverbnation.com, and had them ignore you after you've provided the requested proof of the mystery withdrawals from your bank account. These guys stole $600+ and on proof of the discrepancy they've gone completely silent and are no longer responsive.
Does this story sound familiar to any fellow musician friends?
I've used their website for 3 years now and I am very impressed by it. I got many contacts with the music industry, A & R representatives, including licensing opportunities in London and Hollywood. I pay only 10 dollars a month, that's the price of 2 cups of coffee. To be honest, I was very skeptical at first.
Ive been using reverberation for years... very user friendly, I have not spent a dollar on it but its great for sharing my music with my family friends and fans, all you artists blame reverberation for not bringing you to fame... what did you think this was 150$... sign up... and all of a sodden you're famous going multi-platinum... instead of $#*!ing about a service that was free, get out there and sell singles... sell albums... and if you rely on that you'd better be ready to bend over and sell your buns
I am not sure what they really are offering artist. Anyone can google "submit music" and find plenty of places to submit their music to free. When you use the email venue feature nobody opens it unless they are familiar with you and have booked you before, and in that case you don't need to contact them through the site.
I'm DJ transaction. Currently ranked #1 on reverbnation Brooklyn electronic music charts. I had a free account with them for like 8 years. I never had to pay my way to the top. I made top ten multiple times and got song plays without trying. I don't think this site is as bad as the reviews below say because I really didn't have to pay my way to the top and I got some opportunities here as well. I'm not paid to say any of this stuff. I perfer SoundCloud anyway but it's a nice site.
Answer: Stay far far away from this site...
Answer: Another classic example of them playing games with users. It used to be there was no file size not allowed. Then they allowed it but required a monthly fee - via their plans which are a joke - to upload larger higher quality files.
Answer: Only if you want to loose money. They will gladly take your money but you won't see any result from it.
Answer: Good question. I don't think this happens from experience. My first release was with Reverbnation, a single which bafflingly was released as an album for $19.99 or whatever it cost. Possibly my fault, didn't hurt me as an artist though as my 1 album single was on iheartradio, spotify and itunes and many other distributers I wouldn't have picked. I since learned about the $1 singles so have made a few releases with that for reverbnation - I've pulled a few singles on Reverbnation and Tunecore and have never received a refund of any kind, nor would I expect to. Reverbnation do credit the money back if you pull the release pre-distribution I know that. Maybe try routenote, I release a lot with them on there 'free' model they do take a cut of the royalties though on that plan - I like that flexibility though to be able to pull and re-release tracks.
Answer: As the reviews here warn, RN isn't interested in maintaining a reputation for integrity, As long as they get your money, the future be damned.
ReverbNation has a rating of 2 stars from 143 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with ReverbNation most frequently mention credit card, free trial and bank account. ReverbNation ranks 57th among Bands sites.
