I scheduled a pavilion for a single day, a hurricane is coming to our area on that day. The website was giving me the option to reschedule, but never gave me the option for a new date. I cancelled in order to move the reservation to the following weekend, which it wouldn't let me do. It just cancelled. I didn't receive a refund and could not get my reservation back, even though I called Reserve America immediately for their help. I've lost out on the reservation and my money and "there's nothing they can do about it", even though a hurricane will be here on that particular day.
I wanted to change my site at campground. Found out I couldn't because I already reserved the site I was in. Can't change sites unless you do it before you arrive?what kind of crap is that? I couldn't even cancel my reservation and return to campground! I was stuck in my site regardless what I did! Reserve America sucks! Campground no help either!
Why is it that at every State Park I have visited supervisors and employees say they do not like, Did NOT want, and would love to rid the system of "Reserve America" taking control of reservations. All say things ran smoother when each individual State Park had complete control of their individual park.
So, to me I ask Who is really in control here? Another political corrupt system?
System stinks! In more ways than one!
Reserve America has a written policy for equestrian campers that if trails are closed by the state park the day before or day of your reservation, you can change your reservation to a different date or location and the 4 day advance notice will be waived. This happened to us over the 4th of July weekend. When I attempted to change online, it wouldn't let me. After several attempts through phone contact, I was told they couldn't make the change either. So rather than have them cancel and rebook with charges as they suggested, I canceled on line. This cost me 2 nights camping fees and the cancelation charge. Very disappointed in this service.
I booked a campsite through the website at Shelter Cove in Oregon. The picture of the campsite was not real. Maybe one of the campsites looked like that, but not the one I booked EVEN THOUGH THAT WAS THE PICTURE SHOWN! Instead, we got a spot with 6' between us and our neighbors on both side. Not happy with this invalid information.
Very poor customer service could care less about the customer and they do things that are not legal. Maybe a class action at some point.
This must be a website designed by it peoples.
Everything is bad about it. Very user unfriendly, reacts very bad, cannot change existing (after more than a hour) bookings. Bad, bad bad
Their website never works, Goodwill and DMV provide better service! The racial questions are ridiculous. I will not use them ever again.
I tried calling but they are closed during hours the bot says they're open, and the 24/7 help page is broken. Can't reach anyone. I'm trying to reserve a site that is open year round but reserve america shows they are closed year round.
I DO NOT recommend using Reserve America or calling the toll free number for NYS Park Campsites. I never understood my mom's stress each year over making reservations. NOW I understand! Not worth it. Good way to get your heart rate up and have a heart attack. If you don't care what site you get or if you can't get a site near your family or friends, I guess it wouldn't matter. But if you want something specific. FORGET IT. You have to wait EXACTLY 9 MONTHS and to the second (9am) before you can reserve your desired site. It's like Russian Roulet. There are literally hundreds of people on the very same time and day. They need to come up with a more friendly system AND website. I will not be going to any NYS Parks. Not that they care anyway :( Completely just wasted two mornings trying to get a decent campsite. Completely wasted my time.
Excessive charge for service provided. Difficult to navigate. I believe. Campgrounds are losing money by not having. An in house reservation system
When I went to cancel my reservation they wanted to charge me $17.50 fee plus $24.00 (one night fee). So out of the $56.00 it cost me for the weekend my refund would have been $15.25. Shadey at best in my opinion. Avoid this company if at all possible.
We are seniors who travel by wandering. We almost never reserve campsites ahead because we don't know when we will move on. We often stay only one night. When we are forced to use reserveamerica.com, the reservation fee increases the cost of our campsite, usually by 30% and 50%.
For people who plan a week of camping and make their reservations, the fee isn't a huge deal, but we could end up spending $200 a month on fees.
Maybe there could be a $30 yearly maximum for us seniors?
Could the reservation site be more confusing and misleading? My daughter, grandson, granddaughter, and her fiance had to pack up in the middle of the night and find a hotel because the guy who thought he had the campsite was violent.
My complaint to them: when i modified my 2-night reservation you made it a one-night reservation! A probably drunk, very angry man showed up as we went to bed. 4 people, including 3 youths, we were threatened and accosted 3 times. This man came within feet of my 5-foot-tall, 100# daughter yelling and threatening her and our family members. The next time he came he put his hands on my granddaughter's fiance's neck. This man towers over most people. If he had approached us civilly we could have easily accommodated this man in our camps as my campsite was right next door. I believe you made my modification of a 2 night stay in a different site in this campground into a one night because I was refunded some money. Why when I change the campsite from one site to a different site to another would you make a 2 night stay into a one night? I can't be expected to study every detail of every email from you.
ABSOLUTE worst customer service. I have requested help on numerous occasions. Was always given the standard response that I would be contacted within 48 hours to assist in resolving my issue. AND never received any response or even so much as an email, text or voice call! It's no wonder your company only has a customer satisfaction survey of 1.13!
We reserved a campspot over the phone for two nights. When we got to the campground at 9pm they told us that there is no reservation for us and that they don't even take any reservations for less then 6 nights.
Nothing but trouble with this site and I will choose other campgrounds to avoid dealing with them. Their clients must lose a lot of business from people like me who are fed up. With so many government clients, who are they greasing? Latest: Try to log on for a booking. First the system responds like I'm trying to establish a new account with the email they have on file. No. I was just trying to login. Then, they won't accept the password I know is correct. Repeatedly. Then, they say they will send an email to create a new password. Try and try again and again: nothing. No email. I can't log in and I can't create a new account unless I want to create a new email account. Forget it. I'd rather camp someplace else than deal with this site. Get a clue, campgrounds, and dump these clowns: they're hurting you and your clients.
Constant error messages since the changes were made to the website this year. Incredibly frustrating & I can only imagine how it must be affecting the campgrounds. Please figure it out!
One of the the WORST experiences while camping. The staff over policed and made you feel like you are a criminal for every little thing. They don't offer electricity so we got a generator. They told us the hours the generator can run which we abided by. They STILL harassed us every day about it. They did not allow us to do the baby fireworks on July 4th, threatened to kick us out. They told us we could not have our dogs in the RV while hiking up the waterfalls. Horrible management and staff. I felt like they were watching our every move. Do not camp here!
I booked a camp site@ wells state park for 6/4 check inn check for 7/6 well due to rain I didn't show up Monday because Tuesday the was forecast was rain. So I called on the 4th stated I was coming on the 5 th which was already paid for. Because it rained I wanted to book Thursday the 7/7. They confirmed Mr reservation but told me to call the site. I did to get no answer. I called back, once again they confirmed my reservation but stated I had to go today or it will b canceled. I said it's raining I'm not going today that why I want to pay for a extra night. I tried to book it myself online, the system said the site was open but it wouldn't take my reservation. So I called back and was told if I didn't come today the reservation would b canceled. They keep my money, wouldn't allow me to book the the same site which was open. Got nothing but the run around after going to the Wells for the last 4 years. Customer service did nothing to help my situation but keep my cash. What a RIPOFF
Answer: No site says 7$ but it's actually whatever they want to charge mine was 15$. And when you ask about it they just hang up on you.
