In 4 months, I have only had Republic pick up my trash 1 time on scheduled day. I have had 3 weeks where my trash was not picked up at all. Furthermore, I have called Republic all of the rest of the missed weeks to reschedule trash pickup. It is totally ridiculous. I pay over $30 a month for this service, only to have to turn around and be the bad person who has to call the company every week.
I used to have Ace disposal that was bought out by Republic. In the past 2 years my bill went up and is now doubled what it was 2 years ago. They price gouge you all the time with misc charges. Do not use this service, you will regret it. When I finally cancelled, they actually charged me $60 to come and get their own cans, unreal!
The only good thing I can say about this company is NOTHING. That is the type of service I receive. I call them EVERY week to report my missed service, response is the typical, we will be there tomorrow, which never happens. It takes three weeks to get any service. I am standing in line to get service from another company and as soon as my number is called, I will be gone.
I worked at Republic in Muskegon Mi for a year n I NEVER seen such a disorganized place of employment.
The have an Ops Mgr. Trevor B. Who had to ask a Rte Mgr about things, he treated one of the best workers there Not Very good for all this person did for them. Put a bad taste in my mouth n talking with some of the more senior workers they to said that they didn't much care for him but they needed the job. I found d Moral really Low amongst the Drivers n the Rte Mgrs would ask for a high review when it came time to evaluate them on there performance.
Every Higher up had there Favorites, very sad n you would've thought that hard working guy would've been one but.
Seems they didn't care for good workers but more having Buddies.

Evidently Republic is proud of their 1 star service as witnessed by previous reviews here. 5 calls to them by me along with online missed pick up posts and still no results to get 1 bag of garbage picked up. Have however obtained lies from them pertaining to their claimed service response. They still have yet to resolve problem. Exclude none of their available call in numbers, superviser supports, help chat lines. They all are not compitent. Maybe channel 19 news or Health departments could help.Do not know.
On yesterday 08/18/22 I put my trash can out that had several bags of trash so the dogs don't get it. The workers threw away the hold damn trash can on today 08/19/22 I call to report it been nice, polite with all most respect about the situation to only be told unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about it. Now if I would have called been a $#*!, rude, disrespectful, etc. I would have gotten something done like my trash can replaced. Sometimes it plays to be disrespectful.
Since June 2022, it has become normal to have trash pick ups every 2 weeks. Over 3 weeks in August, and still have not picked up. Reason is "all" of their trucks are broke down(for 3 weeks?). Don't pay for this service, they do not provide the services that you pay in advance.
Commercial contract for dumpster rental and collection every 2 weeks. The contract means nothing to them evidently, they continually raise the fixed contract collection price without notice. Seems they hope it isn't noticed. When you call "customer no service" they say a sales rep has to call you back in 24-48 hours, 2x now I haven't got a call back from sales rep. **DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS COMPANY**
My mother moved to Terre Haute on August 1. Service was to start then. She's been 17 days without service. Phone calls and emails do nothing. Trash is piling up in August. We were promised a tote August 17 "AT THE LATEST", and I'm quoting them. Do you think we saw a tote? Not only that but the whole neighborhood's trash is still sitting on trash pick up day. It's so gross! I've never seen a worse company. Short of employees? Hey, how about a call so we can find a way to dispose of an old lady's trash. No, we waited like idiots on the promised date. A 1 star rating is beyond way too high. Everyday, they go down in my estimation, which is hard because they're already in the 7th level of Dante's hell now. Get it together or move on to something you're capable of doing. Sell the company to someone who can manage it. Waste disposal is important in a city. Mice, rats, insects, stray animals are attracted while humans are repulsed. Disease results as trash leaks into the city's water. What is this- the Middle Ages? Seriously...
I had Republic for residential service and they would only pick up half of the time. It was always 50/50 if they would pick up. Then would have waste time calling them to tell them they didn't pick up the trash and hope they would pick up. What a joke. However one thing that was always consistent they never forgot to bill. No problem there. They are also the most expensive of the carriers out there, next to Waste Management. Stay away!
They increase our bill without a notice,, however, it would have been ok if they picked up our garbage weekly. In the last month, we had one regular pick up. My garbage container along with my neighbors, have been at our curbside for ten days. Street smells bad. Bugs growing in the container. I made so many phone calls, my neighbors made calls. No accountability. It takes a while to set up another companies services. HOA already sent us notices about our garbage.
This company doesn't even deserve 1 star. I don't really write reviews unless the service received is complete trash (pun intended), or really exceptional. I'm this case its complete trash. Unfortunately I live in an in gated community and people come and dump whatever in our dumpsters so it's ALWAYS full and overflowing. Attracting flys and pigeons. Myself and my neighbors have to hang fly traps around it bc it's so bad they end up in our house in mass quantities. It's disgusting. Not only is this a problem but when the trucks come to pick up, the overflowing trash falls on the ground and there's trash everywhere and it doesn't get picked up, so myself or neighbors have to clean it up. It's so gross and I'm so beyond tired of this. We can't help our dumpster is a dumping ground.
Read your service contract! They keep increasing my rate every 6-month and each time we re-negotiate there is a mandatory extension for getting to new contract which extension period another 3 years. It is a never ending cycle only to their advantage.

I fired Republic - Crestwood because they simply could not close the lids on the containers after the weekly pickup and showed a consistant practice of overbilling nearly every other month making excuses of bulk items, etc. Beware as they lure you to automate your invoice and payment so this behavior goes unchecked!
Commercial service was cancelled and three weeks later they're looking for a additional $125 to pickup their OWN dumpster!

This is not an place where we are in a need of a compromise. There was no signed contract for this exact reason - extortion on exit.
If you check our very first invoice (attached) ************** dated 9/20/2019 there is a full credit for delivery of the containers $159.50 x 2. Lisa should remember the conversation where I did not agree to any of your supplemental charges: delivery, exchange, relocate, extra lift & pickup, as they are all your cost to obtain my business. This is just one of many reasons why I would not sign your binding agreement that contained those items.
To say that I am frustrated is an extremely condescending statement. In fact, my feelings are exactly complete and extreme disappointment in Republic's operations. A culture of overcharging policies in practice and the lack connected communication by Republic's staff is a very mob-like outdated practice usually found in 1970's New York City sanitary contracts. I would appreciate it if you would see to it to clear the account balance immediately. I really do not want to continue writing emails, attaching invoices & agreements, writing reviews, etc. but I will if you cannot see to ending this symphony of a bad relationship on one singular positive note.

The delivery credit you received was part of a promotion that we were doing at that time. Since there was not a signed agreement in place, your removal fee defaulted to our standard rate and we do not have anything contractually stating that you are not responsible to pay the removal fee. Since this service has already been rendered and we did not have a contract in place with you, we are not able to remove the $125 fee from your account.
I apologize that you feel disappointed with our operations. As a business owner, I am sure that you understand that there are true fees that come along with sending a union driver out to remove a container – this is a standard practice in any service industry in which services have been rendered. While we cannot remove the $125 fee...

Waited 3 days for them To pick up king size mattress. Due to HOA I couldn't leave mattress out for weeks. Hired a guy to take to dump on day 5. Will never leave bulk items out again. It's no wonder Vegas is so rat infested. Worst company.
Bought an office building. They had an existing contract with Republic Services so I assumed it. Recently sold the office building, new buyer said "I'll never give Republic Services a dime of my money." So I cancelled the contract. They are now charging me over $100 to come and pick up their dumpster when I had fulfilled the full term length of the contract. Previous owner showed me where they charged him to deliver this same dumpster. Horrible!
Terrible service, I got covid and was late with my payment, so the driver did not pick up my blue container garbage, instead picked up some hard foam pieces that fell out from different bin in the street and forced them into my blue container! It happened on Corte De Los Vecinos, Walnut Creek CA about 10:00 am, I was at home and have seen what he did! He basically decided that since he is not going to take my garbage he will add to it someone's trash! He had no right to do it and I will take further steps to track him down! He should not work for Republic Services because he treated me as a customer like one of those pieces that go to the bin! We'll see about it smart guy! I have pictures, by the way.
For as much as we pay, which is ridiculous, we've been asking for a new can since May because ours is broken due to their trucks. We've been told a supervisor will call 4 times and one finally called today. Two weeks ago they drove by with new cans but it was 11 am and the trash hadn't been picked up so we didn't get one and they dropped us from the queue to get one last week. Two weeks prior to that they put a new lid on the broken garbage can (broken on the bottom due to being squeezed by the trucks then slammed/dropped on the ground), I'm guessing thinking we'd think it was a new can. Now they're out of new cans so we MIGHT get a power washed one. If you can choose any place else to get waste services from, choose them, because this place doesn't care if they break your cans, doesn't return your calls, and apparently think if they put a new lid on a broken can we're dumb enough to think the entire can is new.
They are consistently late. As in up to a week. Late in pickups. Their customer service provides lip service at best and rude arguing at worst. The drivers themselves, when they show up, are neat and clean.
Over the years, rates have increased and service frequency and accountability have decreased.
