Don't start.
I did it for a year.
I learned the highest level tasks (Lidar) and got to the highest level (SR), full time.
Still, I made $ 250 a year.
That averages $ 20 a month!
Don't expect more from them.

Remotasks will continuously make you do unpaid training without assigning you to a project. They are using the writing you provide for free human reinforcement learning.
I felt the lack of security of the work process throughout the whole onboarding journey. There is a little explanation of who exactly you work for, who is paying, what kind of invoicing it will be, there are no job agreements involved, basically I did not have a feeling the pay is legitimate and that I will ever actually get paid fairly. The job itself sounded interesting. The contact with the the team leader and the manner of communication was highly unprofessional. In a video meeting the person didn't even show their face (what is there to hide?) and in the chat the manner of communication is too informal and unprofessional. The team leader shared a massive amount of files without even asking us, the onboarders, to sign a disclosure agreement (another red flag). This has never happened before while working with reputable companies. Remotasks also asks to show your ID (basically takes pictures of your ID front and back) without stating any reason to do so (it is not necessary to supply ID if there is not even an agreement involved). Basically it felt like a data extraction is the real crime by this company and they make a huge effort to look like its something else they are doing. According to the local government issued statement people are advised to NEVER provide their ID to a third party without knowing where this information ends up. Likely, these details will be sold further for illegal use in the third world countries. I do not recommend to collaborate with this company.
The TSMs and admins on the Slack channels are zero help. They're all stuck up and act like they can't do their jobs and help you. They'll remove you from projects without explanation and just don't actually care about the people they work with. If you're looking for stable income, better to pursue a job that actually has reliable support and not those people.
1. They make you go through 40-minute long courses when you are already assigned to a project, but you can easily have an empty queue after taking the course, what was the point then? Not only you were already doing the tasks which means you already did an initial course and they are making you take another long course, but on top of that it was all for nothing as there are no more tasks.
2. Even though is not a steady job and they very often have an empty queue, the TMs will reach out if you don't put in the hours you are supposed to for the project and will even tell you in order to keep your profile and not be downgraded you need to put in the hours, which you agreed to it initially but why would you do that if you don't have tasks for me? How am I supposed to guess when there are tasks?
3. If you stop logging in for 1 week+, the courses stack up, so in order to get back on, you will most likely spend half a day taking courses for projects that don't even exist anymore, so of course there are no tasks by the time you are done
4. Many many times I've encountered payment issues, being mistakenly removed "but nothing they can do as the algorithm did it",, server errors, tickets taking months so be resolved (if ever).
It's not a scam as they do pay, the thing is I guess you really have to have nothing going on in your life to where you don't mind mindlessly login in in and take endless courses with the hopes that there are enough tasks.
I have got just deception of it, and waste of time almost forget it, don't try it, it's a dirty scam, didn't get any money of it, I have complete onboarding and passed several exams but the queue is always empty for any reason, now I now why it has those reviews, it really sucks.
I signed up and was immediately approved, however, they said I failed my English Exam, which was quite surprising. I tried reaching out to the emails that were provided and I never received a single response. Support response is a bot response. Not impressed at all!
I spent a weekend going through the training on starting on their Claims tasking. I'm an electrical engineer and MBA with 30 years experience. This was the worst written interface to get productivity you could possibly create. It's as if they created the interface to intentionally not get results? Makes no sense. I don't recommend them for anyone trying to do a side gig. They have 0 support. I could have had a high school freshman write the interface they've created. Just a big waste of time.
They always wait you to work for them then on Wednesday (the day they pay)they suspend your account. They will wait you work for them then on pay day close your account. Don't work for these people. They are day light robbers.
I completed about 12 writing assignments for their initial assessment. These were complex writing tasks and required many hours to complete. As soon as I submitted all the work, I received an email within 10 minutes stating that my work was unacceptable. There is no way possible that a live human could read and evaluate all 12 writing assignments in that short time. I am a certified secondary English teacher and hold advanced degrees. I have written professionally for years. I do not recommend Remote Tasks to anyone.
They will try to get as much free work off you as they "evaluate" you then just kick you off the platform. You can score the highest possible and it will not be enough. STAY AWAY. Don't give them free work.
From the surface, this appears to be reasonably well structured as a remote and highly flexible work option that in many cases can utilize higher-level areas of knowledge or skills. The reality I saw through working with them for 3 months was widespread chaos, many irregularities in people getting paid as agreed at the agreed time, highly unpredictable availability of work in some of the projects, and many people being frozen or banned completely because of things like a very inaccurate algorithm deciding they had used AI to help with their task, or a spam reviewer incorrectly marking down their work, leading to low scores and automatic removal from a project or even the whole platform.
If you want to do research for a novel on the dystopian future where robots are our bosses, this would be a great opportunity. If you are simply curious and have zero actual need for the money or for it being a remotely reliable source of income, and won't really care if you get booted either temporarily or permanently for incorrect and robot-produced allegations, it could be worth checking it out. Other than that, based on reading the experiences of many coworkers in multiple different projects via Slack channels and my own experiences, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this time.
I had high quality scores and completely met the requirements listed for an incentive period in October. After not being paid, I inquired with their customer service platform. I was drug along for almost 2 months with no resolution. Ironically, the more questions I asked about the platform and missing payments I began to be "removed" from projects, even though my quality ratings remained a 5/5. After asking one more time about payment, I was told I did not meet the quality standards for the incentive. Odd since my rating remains the highest rating of all.
They scam people into completing screening tests which they used as the resources to train their models. SO basically they fail people purposely in order to get the free labour. LAME
I was approved to be a Tasker months ago. I signed up under the impression that I would receive $100 after completing my first task and $30 for getting accepted. The $30 disappeared from my account and when I was eventually assigned to a task I couldn't access it. I emailed them multiple times explaining that I was having trouble accessing a task because it kept saying that my account was still in review even though I had already been approved. After I requested the deletion of my account, they sent me a task offer. I explained that I would like the opportunity to do this work for extra money, but I needed to know that I could trust that they would keep up their end of the bargain. My account had not been deleted at this point yet as their prior email said that they would be willing to work with me to address any issues as opposed to deleting my account. I mentioned this to them and they told me that my I was flagged for fraud. Me, the person who told the truth the whole time and asked for nothing but a little of assistance with their platform. They accused me of fraud when they're the ones that wasted my time, stomped out the hope that I could get some extra money in these trying times, and put my credibility at risk as I had told other people about their program. I am many things but I do not lie, cheat, or steal. And the fact that they had the nerve to accuse me of fraud when they wasted my precious time is inexcusable and I wish there was something I could do on a legal basis because this company should not be still be allowed to do business. They took all my information under false pretenses, and then literally added insult to injury.
I have worked with this company for a few weeks, and for a while, it was fine. I worked a full-time job while working with them part-time. I made about $70 before they cut half of the team I was apart of without warning. I asked multiple people that were considered higher-ups for more details as of why, but never received a straightforward answer.
I have also finished two assessments for extra work, one only paying cents, the other was never acknowledged. They were advertising $50 for that particular assessment, but I was given nothing for completing and passing it. Instead, I was given another assessment to do. They are just wasting people's time and should be avoided at all costs. Please, do not waste your time.
This is such a frustrating experience. Everything evolves around support tickets, which NEVER, EVER get addressed or resolved. It's a circle of incompetency and a total waste of energy. The so-called zen support help is non-existent. They acknowledge your request and this is all that ever happens. So inefficient, so bottle-necked it is not worth the aggravation!
This site has outdated instructions and no way to get the training they say you need as you get a 404 error on almost every page. There is no way to do the onboarding training they say you need, the email addresses given are invalid, and a bot answers everything. Not a human. They seem aware of all the bugs, but do nothing to fix them so don't waste your time.
The platform's advertising touts the potential for substantial earnings, but a closer examination reveals a starkly different reality:
1. **Inadequate Compensation**: Regardless of project complexity, the platform consistently yields an approximate rate of 0.6-1 USD per hour. Regrettably, discrepancies between the actual quality of work and evaluations persist, with minimal feedback or clarification provided.
2. **Unpaid Training Obligations**: A noteworthy concern pertains to certain projects demanding a week-long, unpaid training period. However, this extended commitment offers no guarantee of subsequent project availability.
3. **Website Instability**: Numerous operational issues plague the platform, leading to unexpected project terminations mid-task. These abrupt interruptions hinder timely project completion and may result in unwarranted project bans. Regrettably, communication with the platform's support team to address these concerns remains unresponsive.
4. **Lack of Support**: Efforts to engage with the support team through email channels have proven fruitless. Queries regarding project closures and delayed payments have garnered solely automated responses, lacking substantive follow-up or resolution.
5. **Delayed Payments**: Perhaps most concerning is the prolonged delay in payment processing. Over four weeks have passed, with a balance of $20 in my account, yet no payment has been received, and inquiries regarding this delay remain unanswered.
Moreover, the promise of earning $1 per hour is a substantial deviation from industry standards, raising ethical questions, particularly with regard to individuals from countries with lower income levels. It is disheartening to witness such disparity in earnings, exploiting individuals who may see this as a relatively lucrative opportunity within their economic context.
In conclusion, my initial earnings of approximately $20 were amassed before I realized the disheartening reality of the platform's compensation structure. It is crucial for prospective users to be aware of these issues and exercise caution when considering this platform as a viable means of income. This review underscores the importance of transparency, equitable compensation, and effective support systems within freelance platforms.
I keep seeing posts that describe Remotasks as a company that doesn't give support, as well as saying that they cut you lose with no warning.
I've also noticed that every negative post about them has major grammatical errors, such as run-on sentences, poor punctuation, and formatting.
I do not possess a degree in anything, much less english lit. But I seem to maintain a 5/5 quality score. And I'm on two projects at one time with endless tasks it seems. I got promoted to elite tasks today, it comes with a chance to be promoted to reviewer.
Ive made over $500.00 in 3 days on tasks. This does not including bonuses. My pending payment says $641.31
