Fake reviews on trust pilot,
Fake promise of delivery,
Pathetic customer service,
Readymade answers from representatives,
I don't think it can worsen. Promised to transfer money in 15 minutes, it's 3 days, still waiting.
They charged more for immediate transfer and deposit, but that doesn't happen, plus customer service is horrible, please don't use this service, i never had problems with Xoom, made a mistake using Remitly, never again
May be a good company to do money transfer. Their attitude is what I do not like. Every time they ask to verify your identity and they want to go through your banking statement expect me to explain reason for certain transaction. This is too much" REMITLY".
I did send over 1000$ to my US account from Europe.
The mail said the money should have come in by now but this is not the case.
After reaching out to 3 different customer service employees the chat always went silence after sending the wire number.
No support what so ever but we will keep pushing.
After calling and mailing them and waiting 1,5weeks we got the money back!
In my honest opinion they verify the information isnt wrong at all and thats just to avoid scams. I sent money from America to my family in Vietnam by home delivery and it got delivered after 1 night. Love everything
I sent my longtime friend of 11 years some money to help him out, from Texas to Morocco. My friend suggested this site. It took less than 30 mins for the transfer to go through. He also received the money with no problems. I enjoyed the waive of the fee for being a first-time customer.
I was under the impression that the fees were less than Western Union, but I looked it up online and Western Union is actually cheaper. But either way, the fee for future transactions didn't look bad.
I may use Remitly again.

Incredibly good experience with Remitly, support between June 7 and 11. I sent 800 euros to my wife in Saint Petersburg for surgery on June 11. A day later, after sending I received an email that the amount was on hold. It finally worked out that the bank requires middle name as I understand many not use this in Russia, anyway the Russian bank declined and ended up with stress money was blocked for some period. But Remitly US support was amazing, they did all to correct it and even confirmed they will change the process a bit for customer to avoid next time issues to validate you must give the middle name as well. Very impressed by how they convert the stress we got with the Russian receivers bank to handle all and used other bank and got our money paid out. Big thanks to the support for this. Absolute amazing.
Hello Henk,
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I sincerely apologize, this sounds like an incredibly frustrating experience and does not align with Remitly's delivery promise and intention to provide excellent customer support. I was able to locate your account and have escalated this internally, someone should reach out to you directly.
Thank you for trying Remitly and apologies for this experience.

Remitly promises fast delivery, which actually doesn't happen. Sending money is taking 4 days now when it originally said within one hour, and it still says in progress, with no further updates on even an expected delivery date. I have contacted customer service 2 times and they promise to help or provide updates, which doesn't happen either. Don't use Remitly if you want to avoid headaches as they are not serious.
These people practice bait and switch. They say you are locked into an exchange rate, but when it comes time to pay it's a different story. They also change rates in midstream, and the process is lengthy and aggravating.
Don't bother using remitly. I don't know why they are in business. Their fraud system would stop an old grandpa from sending money to his kids. Go somewhere else. Remitly will probably go out of business or bought by another company for pennies
Very similar bad experience to the other recent reviewers. We made our first transfer 3 months ago without problems. We tried to make a second transfer 2 days ago and it's been a nightmare. First two attempts with credit card were cancelled without explanation, third attempt from bank account went through but then they kept asking for ID documents (which we sent them) and to call a number. The number was constantly engaged for 24 hours so we tried to access them via the chat. We got into the phone queue, waited there for an hour and a half and were then told that our payment reason was invalid so they were going to cancel the account. I just made the transfer with TransferWise without problem and it was cheaper and better rates than Remitly. Don't use Remitly, their customer service is really bad.
This is my first time using Remitly sending funds to Philippines to family... WHAT A JOKE.! Express service is now 4 days into what is supposed to be instant. Family can't get money Remitly have no idea whats holding up the transfer... and we talking couple of thousands AUD$... NEVER again. Try it and its useless. Seems going back to Western Union... and to be totally honest. WU has just as good rates.!

The worst partnership with banks.
After 16 days of having sent money from Melbourne to Bogota 5 times my relatives trying to get the money and nothing.
Useless service.
Disaster company i am not recommending it.
I have used Remitly a couple of times to transfer money to my family both in Gambia and Senegal. While their mobile app is user-friendly, I find their service process to be too slow and frustrating. On a couple of times I made transfers, Remitly sends me email and notifications to indicate that my transfer has been delivered to the recipient. However, in reality this is usually not the case. I have to keep on calling several times before my transfers are actually delivered to the recipient or deposited to the intended bank account. I find this to be appalling. To make things worse, whenever I call their customer care centre, the agents cannot seem to find a solution for my complaints or enquiries. This is utterly disappointing. Even to get my remittance delivered to the intended recipient, the process has to take a minimum of three days. This is the worse customer service I have ever experienced from an international company. Appalling!
I wish I could give zero rating to these bunch of idiots! Total nonsense! Incompetence at its peak! Hold my money for days when I have informed them it's an emergency so it should be delivered as promised. Called them many times every time a new idiot with a new excuse! Total crap and a big scam! Stay away from these people!

Remit at one time gave discounts for transfers to people suffering from storms in the Phillipines. It did not specify that people receiving assistance had to be a family member. They allowed all transfers which seem to go against their agreement that only family members could be rewarded. Remit support has no answers and do not have knowledge to inform anyone why an account is suspended and pass the buck. My advice to users switch to PayPal which transfers fees are less.
Yes they review your account you send them all the information they ask then delay transfer 2 to 4 hours. Is based in Philippines so at times hard to understand and they refer you to their compliance person who reads from a script. No real answers
Stay away from this garbage called a company. It's ludicrous they hold on to your money and repeat the same gibberish after my recipient in Nigeria never received the money. I wonder how they're still in business with this recurrent fraudulent act. Never again. Spread the word, don't use them.
This website is a scam, people should not use it to transfer money. They tricked me 45 dollars. Scams people's money! No credibility! Unreliable! Not recommended! Please stop using this site before it's too late.
Having had it up to the gills with all the "we need more info about you", after having given them everything except the size of my manhood (they'd reject that detail, claiming gross exaggeration!), I finally requested they remove my account. THAT is such a relief to me... no more identity theft.
