In the beginning, I really enjoyed this game. I have NEVER put money into any game ever, until this one. Unfortunately, I am out close to $500. Due to it either double charging, and/or not authorizing charges, and/or not receiving what I had purchased. Now that's not what happened with the entire $475. The other issue is I wasn't able to complete a couple tasks/ designs to level up at the end of the "season" which I believe was a month long-ish, therefore it automatically kicked me back to the beginning as if I just downloaded it and TOOK all of the inventory I had PAID for! Listen, I do not have the money to throw away or have taken from me. Especially from something that is supposed to bring me joy and entertainment. I feel completely violated and am pretty upset not only about the money, and janky way that they kick you backwards if your life gets busy and you're unable to find time to play it, but also because it was my escape/ entertainment that I could dive into and clear my mind. I truly loved this game and I cannot seem to find one that is just like it. I provided a couple screen shots of the charges, as I'm being denied a refund from Apple even though I no longer have it downloaded and it's some of the charges it doubled without my consent as well as I just didn't authorize.
This game is deliberately designed to pillage your pocketbook! If you want to design anything worth designing one must spend a small fortune in order to buy coins to purchase 5 uses of each item, stars to unlock all of the thousands of LOCKED items and only ONE use of unlocked item then spend your hard earned coins to purchase 5 uses. Earning stars through game play is SLOW and your coins are sucked dry with each play to purchase the outrageously high priced items. I play but REFUSE to pay real money what a RIP OFF! CREEPS!
Although, I enjoy this game, I have been stuck for days without being able to finish even one room. The items needed are too costly and I refuse to spend real $$ on a game I play on my phone. Deleting now.
We have some of the top designs internationally and what I've experienced and seen firsthand is unfairness through voting. I'm not sure if it's other designers or staff doing the voting, but it's clearly done in a unfair way. If you design with white or gray, you're all set. Most of us use colors as everyday people do.
Even though this is a game and you're using fake money, coins, I start out each day with sometimes as much as 300 and something thousand coins. I go to buy one or two things and game over. And then you don't have enough money to buy anything else to complete the room. And you can only vote so much and then you're restricted. I've been playing for a few years and those rules weren't intact in the beginning. And the rooms were much cheaper to buy to design. Now today I have nothing left in my little kitty. I cannot vote any longer. And so I'm done for the day I can't play anymore. And this never happened when I first started the game years ago. Some changes aren't for the better
It used to be a fair game, now you can pay to keep your design status. Keeping your design status was changed from monthly to now every 14 days which forces you to have to play more, which is difficult for some of us that have actual lives to live than sit and play games...believe it or not. And paying to keep your design status costs 3 times what a monthly pass costs. This is extremely disappointing, it has cheapened the design experience.
Since leaving the negative review on their website I have been unable to log in to the game. It seems to locked on my phone! Never seen this happen before. Coincidence? Hmmph
This game is fun... if you don't mind spending a lot of money. The game starts every time offering items you can buy and their own currency in form of 2 types of coins. The way you win is by having your designs voted on. Of course the best designs require the best fabrics, paint etc. Which you have to buy. I have played this game for over 2 years and spent ĥundreds of dollars. I can no longer afford this game.
In the last two weeks, as I scrolled through materials for a design, coins would automatically come out of my account. The buy button never popped up. I contacted Support and sent them screenshots of the specific designs that I was doing when the above occured. The same response was given each time, "Sorry, there is nothing I can do". What is interesting is this began happening when I was level 9. The problem left me with little money to purchase materials and I didn't reach my status. Next thing I know, I got a pop up stating for $8.99 I could keep my current status. This looks very fishy to me! I advised support that the problem was an issue that needed to be resolved by the creators of the app as I was sure I wasn't the only one it was happening to. Again, same response. I advised them I could try uninstalling and reinstalling app but was told I would lose materials, coins and status. She fully understands that I will not play Redecor any longer. Her response, again, was that there was nothing she could do and wished me and my family good health and happiness. After reading the other reviews, I've learned my lesson and will read reviews before installing an app.
Played this game for several years, worked my way up to level 10 then POOF! Thrown back to level 9 because I didn't "win" the requisite 150 rooms in one month. (A nearly impossible task without spending a load of cash buying the points necessary to even play). I'm done. I will occupy my time doing something constructive!
This used. To be a very relaxing fun way to veg. Noe, it is very frustrating.
Instead of keeping your rank as you earn it, they have implemented a ranking system in which you have to win X amount of designs. This would be easier done if the prices were not always rising on popular inventory.
I have enclosed several pictures. The first three depict pure white inventory. Notice all three are at different costs. The original game had those items. If you bought 5 it would cover: bedding, throws, curtains, tablecloths etc. with Playtika this is not the case. If I buy 5 uses as white to use on a couch, then move on to the curtains I would expect to have 4 uses left to use of the white. Nope. I have to purchase it again!
The next picture shows "limited" items. You purchase these, at your own risk, and hope that Playtika does not remove them from your inventory, usually without warning. They will not refund any monies spent by you.
The next is an example of the cost of inventory. These are ridiculous as you will never have enough coins to complete more than one or 2 designs a day. (Unless,of course, you are willing to spend your money for in game coins.) you earn coins by submitting designs, different amounts are paid from 1st to 10th place. Each design has a different value, some as low as *******, others as high as *******. Now if you take a look at just that sample of the cost of inventory you can understand how designing anything cohesive is next to impossible.
Last is my account. It shows how many wins I need to move up. To maintain my current level I need to achieve at least half of the wins. The inventory shown is what was given as a "prize" for reaching this level.
If I do not meet those requirements I go down a level, unless I choose to pay to keep it, and they take back all those bonuses. In plain English they remove them from your inventory!
When I started playing the games was fairly easy to play. I could save up coins, had over 2 billion, and gold tokens usually had no less than 1000. They used a formula(never divulged) to convert our "money"to their system. ( How does 200 billion work out being the equivalent of 2 million?!) never purchased anything but the season pass if I liked the materials. I got to a point where I owned ALL of my inventory. Once a week I would go through my inventory and replenish everything needing replenishing.
Playtika took over. I was stripped of all but the very basic inventory. (I was told I had an unfair advantage by having a complete inventory. No, I worked my $#*! off to get my inventory! They had no right to do this) To include inventory I paid for!Players who had very little money were given higher amounts than they ever expected, and extra inventory. (Yes we have chat groups that discuss the inequality of the game)
Their shenanigans continue. They are trying to run this like a gambling app. That was never the purpose of the Redecor App.
I have played for years and accumulated over 3 billion in game cash and over 2 thousand Coins. I owned at least one of every item in my inventory.
When Playtika took over they took away over 3/4 of my inventory leaving me with the ugliest items. My cash was converted from billions to a mere 200 thousand dollars and noCoins.
The inventory I had stolen from me I now needed to repurchase (at triple the previous price) on earn by leveling up. (Which was never a requirement) but if I did not maintain or pay to maintain my level I lost certain items. (Always the most needed ones)
There is no way to maintain any decent amount of cash unless you want pay real money to obtain game tokens. The majority of the players refuse to buy anything from Redecorate as they will take away any cash inventory at anytime with no warning and no compensation!
Play at your own risk!
I have been playing this game for 3 years. The voting system is a scam, there is no correlation between the spec and the score. If you have 95% white in all designs you will always be a winner. The new journal is a f******* insult. I cannot design badly enough to get three hearts; those that do have been using the magic wand. With just under 2000 5s I know how to compete in this game but the new journal I don't even want to vote as it breaks my heart to see the c*** that wins. It rapes your money pot too! There is a cost of living crisis but good old Redecor keeps lessening the amount of cash you can win. Apparently, the best value on buying coins is £99.99. Really, you guys expect us to be throwing away our hard earned money to this extent? Shame on you. Your pathetic rewards throughout each season aren't worth having. A fantastic game gone bad because of greed!
After 2 years playing, money spent, I was at level 9, the app glitched again and I have lost my entire account. They have virtually no CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have talked to lawyer about possible lawsuit!
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP.
Money grabbing rip-off. Computer generated fake "voting system" This used to be a fun game but the new owners have spoilt it.
Redecor/Reworks/Playtika is a gambling game that uses deceptive casino type methods to determine wins. By using computer generated methods they ensure you win a few, then lose many and then you have to spend real money to keep playing. The deception is in their claim that winning designs are voted on by millions of players from around world - which not only complicated, it's impossible. They use a computer generated system manipulated by them to ensure the house always wins. Playtika is infamous for gambling games but for those you know it's a gambling game. For Redecor, they are outright lying to consumers. To me, it's clear these are deceptive gaming practices!
Awful game! The voting sucks, as the best designs get downgraded (because otherwise, they have to keep paying to the winners and then those won't spend any money at their App Store). So it is extremely demotivating for the talented and passionate designers! It's awful to see very good design lose while sucky stuff 'wins'. The same goes about duals. I guess it is a machine that pre-determines the outcome, as otherwise, I really do not get it: how those ugly designs can keep winning …
I actually love playing the game.
But the problem I have with it, is the voting.
The designs are comprised with briefs about what the overall design should be. Example… a colorful living room, or a dark bedroom.
But the individuals doing the voting does not take the brief in a count. So why have design briefs at all?
I do like the game otherwise
Absolutely not based on players voting. It's AI. Less rewards and more buying. Taste won't win ever.
I paid an amount of gold tokens they have, to purchase a statue limited item I liked, I never got it in my collection wallet.I contacted their service, sent a screenshot of my account, and I'm waiting still to get my tokens back after 3 days.Very bad service.
I have been playing for three years always enjoyed the game was a go to to relax. Over time I noticed it getting more and more expensive to play. Stupid storylines got added. First the leveling system started and now they have changed it that you have two weeks to reach a certain level or you drop or then they offer you you can pay $8.99 to hang onto it but that's only good for two weeks. The voting is wonky I have been on a win and then at the last minute I lose the win and drop to about sixth. This game is now rigged that if you don't spend money you don't get anywhere and you don't get the best materials. Do not waste your money
Answer: There are virtually no "good" ways to to spend tokens or coins. They do everything they can to convince you that you MUST have the newest and most expensive. Not so. I've started buying only the monthly Season Pass for $4.99. They'll get no other money from me.
Answer: Mine does this also! Especially when placing items on the picture
