The website was good back then when it was simple and you could study normal but now they are adding the dumbbest updates making the app more confusing to use and adding updates NO ONE ASKED FOR!
Also they keep putting the stupid ai thing in it that no one cares about.

Quizlet is nothing short if a money-begging website. I try to review a set of 20-30 flashcards by doing a quiz to refresh my memory, but what do I see? Text that says "upgrade to quizlet plus to continue with this set". As a student, this frustrates me since I can't review content that I want to review for tests. Nice job, quizlet for begging me to pay you $35.99, even though you didn't get a cent off of me.

I used quizlet mostly as a fun review tool. I tend to study on my own but usually use this as a refresher.

Every time I try to do something it tries to make me sign in. This site gets on my nerves when I'm trying to study which is what I don't want to be worrying about.

If you're looking for a flashcard site to use I would've recommended Quizlet, but with how greedy they've gotten I think Anki would be better instead. Quizlet just paywalled the most useful features for memorization (learn and write mode), despite them being free for years. I hope this company burns

Quizlet got greedy.
June 20, 2022

Quizlet used to be a really great site. It had a lot of features that allowed students to study easier and allowed teachers to assign work easier. However, in an effort for people to buy into a monthly subscription, Quizlet has been intentionally locking features behind paywalls. First, they made you see more ads. Then, they made it so ads would interrupt your studying entirely. Now, different modes that were previously accessible to anyone using the site (such as Spell and Learn) are locked behind the monthly subscription.
Students now have to pay just to get good grades, and teachers can't use the site anymore.

I always use Quizlet to memorise Japanese letters, word, and alphabet. However, that changed when they decided to remove the meteor game and the free learning.

Great but annoying
October 25, 2021

For studying the format of quizlet is extremely useful. But unfortunately, once you make a quizlet account, you are screwed, because they will NEVER EVER STOP SENDING YOU USELESS EMAILS. If you don't have a quizlet account, you are fine to keep using it offline. An account is not necessary. I made the mistake of creating an account and now I am using it for school and cannot delete it. Please know that I do not hold anything against quizlet or its creators, but I think that whoever is in charge of the email distrubution went a little overboard.

Quizlet acquired the website Slader.com which was used by students across the world to share and discuss textbook answers. The answers were written by students for students all for free. Quizlet swooped in, bought out Slader and is now charging for all the work that was done for free by generous people. It's frankly disgusting and everyone should stay far away from Quizlet

Very Helpful
April 22, 2021

With Quizlet there are a number of different things you can do to help study, learn, or memorize material. I get maybe an email a week from Quizlet which I will admit is annoying but is nothing compared to the emails I get from Grammarly. I think Quizlet is an excellent resource. It has helped me with tests and quizzes. Without this resource, I think I would struggle a lot as a student. I use it for vocabulary mostly. You will most likely be able to find what you need. I've had a few problems with logging in but other than that I think it is great. I have not paid for anything within Quizlet, but I haven't needed to. I've also participated in Quizlet live games and I've found them very helpful and very enjoyable. They are very good for a class preparing for a test or quiz. I would have given it a 4.5 but that was not an option. Not a complete 5 because of the few small issues I wrote about.

I'm using it to make Spanish flashcards, and it even noticed that and automatically provided options for the translation/answer of each one as I added them all in, which sped up the process hugely! Super useful way to create a bank of vocabulary, or more extensive concepts.

Okay

First - it is a study tool. So for the few that believe they can learn a new subject or get in depth knowledge of one from Quizlet, well, good luck. I know that a few actual classes are at the site from various teachers. Never touched one. Second - the best study decks are going to be the one you build yourself. Reason for this is that as you add question and answer this information stays in your memory longer and helps reinforce what you already know. The other reason is that anyone can build a study deck, post it, and you would not know until too late how much that person got wrong or did not verify as correct. One deck I had used had two questions that were wrong, but that subject material was not familiar to me and thus it reinforced two wrong answers. That is of just the ones I was aware of. Third - It is fairly easy and quick to build a deck, but the over all interface is not good. If you compare against Anki, Quizlet is a quick use and easy to build, but Anki is a powerhouse with extreme customization, but has a steep learning curve to do this. Four - The quizzes/exams are horrible. If you build a deck for an entire class or certification, it will randomize the answer choices, making it all but certain you can figure out the correct answer. Not very good for gauging your readiness for an final exam or certification. I have not paid for the 'professional' decks, I would not so maybe those do not suffer that All Choices Except One Are Impossible when 'practice testing'. In short for a study tool it is decent to good if you have the time to make your own cards and to proof read and verify another's person's set. If you are severely lacking this time pay for study materials that are professional and skip Quizlet.

Quizlet is a website where you can either create flashcards for online use, or browse other people's flashcards. Practically every topic you can think of is on there, all of which you can either practise with flashcards, learn, write, spell, test, match, or gravity mode.
Since they are flashcards, it's best for revision, as a few words + a picture is a much better way of learning than with paragraphs when writing on cards. Personally, I'd say it works quite well, especially as they also provide a "test" option and a "match" option.
Other than not being for learning, the other disadvantage is that it can be annoying when in any given writing mode, you write an answer, and they mark it incorrectly only because your answer is not word-for-word. I mean, I get why, as they can't really go through each answer and give a marking option for an answer that is the same in essence, if not in word. But still, it can be really frustrating. Although, there is an option to click that says "mark as correct" or "mark as incorrect", but some users may misuse the purpose of that.
Quizlet also has an upgrade option, where you pay for a "better version". I don't pay, and don't know anyone who does. I doubt it's worth it, since what more can flashcards do? They say that you have to pay to use bold, italics, and underlining in your writing, but to be honest, it's not worth paying for that.
So in conclusion, Quizlet is a great resource for quickly recapping any given topic - education or non-educational - but not to learn anything. You can try learning, but there are better websites…

Very Helpful and Fun
January 22, 2020

I'm in 8th grade and am taking Spanish 1. My test is two days away and at first, I didn't really know that there even was one, so I use this to study for it and I know all my vocabulary in half an hour! The asteroid games are really fun and engaging and the last test I studied for, I aced the test. The layout is interesting, it's fun and Quizlet Live is a fun, unique addition (a competition like Kahoot but with a different game concept) to review your answers for! I can easily review the questions if I need to and it saves a lot of time and effort than just using flashcards. Also, the fake test is to prepare you and to put off less stress that you have.

This is a fun website that uses teamwork. However, sometimes it can get a little competitive, but other than that, it is great.
