The people that think sites like Quibids are scams just don't understand how they work or don't have the time or focus to make them work. If you only bid on items that you're planning to buy anyway, it's impossible to lose.
Example: Let's say I want to buy an xbox. I would go to Quibids and wait for the xbox I want to get to the mean average of what others have sold for (they provide this info). Then I would start placing bids strategically. It can take an hour of constant attention, but I may win the console for, say $15 and maybe around 30 bids - you can do the math. If I DON'T win the auction, I don't lose the bid investment because it goes toward the retail price of the item and I just buy it outright.
It's a win-win. You just have to understand the process and only bid on stuff you would already buy.
I have watched many of their auctions and have participated in a few. I find that auctions do sometimes have a tendency to end when I stop bidding. To test my theory, I bid up to the FULL PRICE on a laptop, which was $1044. I was going to purchase this laptop anyway, and I wanted to see if I could "win" it at about 75% of the purchase price. No big surprise, but I was the second to last bidder AGAIN. I bid for six hours straight, as did a good half dozen other bidders. As soon as I reached full price for the item and stopped bidding, none of the other 6 or 7 bidders bid again and the auction was over. I truly believe that many of the bidders on this site are bots employed by the company. (And yes, there are those who may say I have more money than brains... and in this case, I have to agree.) If you can't afford or don't want to purchase an item at their full price, I would not frequent this site past the first couple of auctions that they appear to "let" you win.
Admittedly, I did not take enough time to read what all is involved in understanding the bidding process and the time I would need to put into it. After I signed up and a 100 bid purchase was automatically made upon sign-up, I read what it takes to be successful in bidding and realized I didn't have the time to put into it and requested a refund. The support response was immediate and supportive. There was no pressure to get me to keep my account or making me feel bad for asking for a refund. If I can take the time, one of these days, this makes me way more likely to come back and try it out.
Can't see this website lasting long. Even idiots see the light of day sooner or later. I went to the site to see what they were selling. I wasn't impressed and don't pay to bid anyway. But what caught my attention and ire was when I tried to back out of the site, it acted like a mosquito that just won't go away. That alone told me to stay away from www.quibids.com
I hadn't realized that $60 was taken out of my bank account when I signed up for Quibids. Once I did I was quite upset and contacted them my email and then by life chat The problems was solved in a very short time the money returned to me immediately. That's very good service.
It is fun, it takes a lot of time, patience and concentration. I compare it to playing the lottery or gambling. I have won about 8 items in 40 days and most of them have already been delivered in original packages. I did lose money in the beginning because I didn't focus and study. I have read quibids 101 at least 3 times and read the testamonials. You have to set a personal limit on the amount of bids plus sale price that you are willing to commit.

The site is a great idea, but don't expect to receive many items anytime soon. I have $250 in gift cards, and it has been well over 2 weeks and I have not received them. I did receive my ice cream maker and $15 itunes card quickly. The $250 items were won on a Wednesday, and the following Thursday I won the itunes card and Ice cream maker. I receved those two items in about a week, but have not seen any of the Lowe's $250 gift cards.
My thoughts are that the site is hurting for money, primarily cash flow, and they are using delaying tactics to stay alive during the recession. Be careful! If they go out of business, you will not receive any of your products.
I am disabled. Today was not a good day for me. I kept on giving the rep, Alicia (?), incorrect information. She was patient with me while I finally told her what she needed to know. My problem was resolved.
Quibids is by far the best of all Penny Auction sites. Many auctions running constantly, giving everyone a good chance to win. If you don't win, you can always hit the Buy it Now button and all the bids you placed are deducted from the final price. This is great if you plan to buy an item anyway... might as well give it a shot and try to save some serous money.
Customer service with Quibids was awesome. I had a return email almost immediately after I sent an email off to them requesting a refund. That is almost unheard of in the world today. Thank you very much for the awesome response. I am very impressed.
I did not know that QuiBids would take the 60.00 out just from me registering. I was not ready to bid.
They have started the process to refund me my $60.00 and they did it right away, just waiting for it to hit my account.
They also cancelled the account at my request, I need to get a better understanding of how this works and be more prepared for the experience.
Well... be very careful! I bought a block of bids for $48.00. I did win a beginners auction for another small block of bids for. 20, but then they charge you a $2 transaction fee (what for?! - they just add the bids to your account). After a lot of wasted bids, I did manage to win a $25 and a $15 gift card. You pay the winning bid, plus they charge you $1 - $2 for shipping. I thought OK, I'm going to get the gift cards in the mail. A couple days later, the gift cards are delivered to me electronically - why do they charge for shipping?!? I'm probably luckier than most - I spent $50 to win $40. My only advice would be to go after the lower dollar items - you have a better chance of winning those. -- I'm sure whoever thought of this auction site is making a ton of money!
I never heard of quibids until I I received a spam message in my email this morning, alleging that someone I'd never heard of recommended it to me. There was no unsubscribe link on their mail, and I've no intention of registering.
Mistakenly bought 100 bids while setting up my profile and was adding my card info and turned out to be a purchase, wrote them and they were sorry about the confusion and refunded me back the $60 I spent! I was glad!
Had an issue with an auction I had been bidding in for over 2 hours and was "locked" when the auctions paused. Upon the auction resuming 2 high roller bidders were able to jump into the auction for the brief time it was no longer locked. I immediately phoned support and Mandi was very apologetic that it could happen, and I received all my bids back prior to it being paused. There was a significant amount of bids and I am very grateful they offered to do that!
I have no doubt that quibids has bots, of course the site says they dont. I watched one particular name bid hundreds of times on every electronic item, the bids alone cost more then some of the items, once each item was sufficiently run up the name would just go away, I watch it bid on 3 items at exactly the same time over and over. This one name bid thousands of times today and hasnt won a single item. That is most definately a bot.
Let me just save you time and money. This site is a SCAM. They lure you in telling you cases where people got flat screen TV's for pennys, and then take you money without you even recognizing it until your money is gone. I just blew $60 in 15 minutes, and got nothing out of it. The government should shut this site down. I am really upset at not losing the money, but at how gullible I was. STAY AWAY!
This website is a big ole scam. It's a good idea for the person who owns this business, but for those who are bidding, it's horrible. There's one major flaw with this site for the users... and that is, that someone who hasn't been bidding on an item can just come in and start bidding on an item, which isn't a huge deal in and of itself but here's the problem. Let's say you have 100 dollars worth of bidding vouchers wrapped into a bid, well someone can come in and start bidding only using 60 cents of bidding money/vouchers spent. Trust me, this bidding web site is a huge scam, and I'm not putting any more money into, it just never ends, you will lose money using this web site!
This is a terrible scam. They first hit you with a $60 fee you know nothing about and then if you are on fixed income retirement you don't have a chance. I just sat and watched a person bid 423 bids for a $9 voucher pkg. You have the same people day after day winning and bullying the other bidders. They will never respond to email complaints.
I've been happily bidding and winning on QuiBids for 18 months now. To any of the new people, take the time to read Q101 or visit their Facebook page if you have questions. Lots of people are happy to help!
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
