I wanted to get some information on this site so I went to the online chat. I asked "how do I know you are not bidding against me so your company earns an extra $. 60 per every bid I make" The answer "You can return any product that you win with in 21 days" I asked the same question again, the answer " I have limited information please go to our FAQ section" Obviously they can't type the correct answer because that would indicate an acknowledgment of a crime if they ever were investigated.
You that have been scammed by this site should seriously think about reporting this to where ever you saw this advertised. What a joke. Though greed can help fuel an economy, it has some serious negative side effects, stupidity being one.
Same as many here have written. I studied it for a few days, paid for the "baby" packet of bids ($24... doh!) then watched very carefully before I decided to jump in. The auction I was working suddenly "ended" at two seconds on the clock, this after I had spent almost an hour watching it (and participating). There's absolutely no way to formulate a strategy because you can't trust the counter. What a waste. Last time I'm suckered on something like this.
I signed up for this worthless site early 2013 just to see what all the claims were on the running commercials. When the signup process asked for information of a financial nature I put on the brakes. What auction wants bidders to pay for each and every bid? None that are reputable. Stay away from this site and spend your hard earned money on real goods rather than have a scam steal your funds.
UPDATE *******: Just because a merchant offers great customer service does not place them in a 5 star category. This site charges $60.00 upon registration without clearly stating this policy. Their site is full of junk I'd never purchase in three lifetimes let alone one. And to top it off you have to spend money to bid - what reputable site charges a fee per bid? NONE! Wake up folks this so called auction site is a joke.
I read the reviews above and it seems like this is typical fraud on the consumer part and a huge money maker for QuiBids. In the beginning the customer will win, then the customer will have to spend more money to get more bids, QuiBids didn't mention that their chances of winning again just diminished tremendously.
Yes i agree its a scam. You loose by the time you buy out points. Phony ads along those lines. Like getting payed to shop and get all kinds $$ to shop--SOUNDS LIKE FREE MONEY$? DUMB ADS-- if you to get a costly win. Hi tech device$? And it breaks and or shipping gets a mess. One or both--- How do they back up these problems? And at what cost?$ I still stay with amazon and sears. Dont be fooled on fast money scams. You never realy know where your lost money bids realy goes!$$
Very interesting, but VERY DIFFERENT. Learn the ropes and you'll do well. Try to act like you're on eBay and you'll get hammered. The "price paid" for the item is nearly irrelevant... since you pay to bid, most of your cost will be in the bidding. Virtually all of the negative reviews I've seen about Quibids don't seem to grok that concept (although to be fair, some of Quibids ads could be clearer on the subject).
Develop strategies to reduce the number of bids you post to an absolute minimum - either by jumping in late, waiting until only a second or two is left on each round to see if others will jump in first, or finding times when fewer people are bidding (middle of the night, during the workday, etc). I've actually seen bids posted before the auction starts - you're wasting money, people!
Cool concept... I like it, and I'll be interested to see how it evolves. (They're pretty new, and still send personal responses to feedback.)
Same as everyone else here. $60 up front for a $10 Target Gift Card. This site should be labelled as too good to be true. You're better off using eBay or Amazon or maybe even other online stores and look for good deals there, at least they will not siphon off money before the purchase.
Stay away, I wish I had reviewed the site before joining. I feel like the dumbest person on Earth right now.
Shame on them, but mostly shame on me.
To be honest, I was worried it was a scam site but after using it for 3 months now. I'm writing tis review on y NEW laptop I won on the site for less than 20.00. I've also won an Ipad, itunes gift cards, a milkshake maker, carpet cleaner and food storage containers and Dr Dre Headphones. YES u do buy bid packs BUT if you don't use them, they will, i repeat WILL REFUND your money. I have to say this is a great site and I fully trust them. I won a cell phone suction once and the item never arrived and quibids instead sent me an amazon gift card for the retial rice of the cell phone i was supposed to get. 328.00! Say what you want about online scams but this site is legit and very fun. Customer service is amazing!
I personally really enjoy Quibids. I have won lots of items for amazing prices my last win was the new digital flip camera. My only complaint is there customer service isn't live (example chat) they do email which is slow but they have answered every question I asked. I also run a tips and ticks site dedicated to helping people win on Quibids called QuibidsTips.com
I'm on disability and hoped to win some items through the auction. It wasn't until I registered and gave my bank information that I was referred to other screens to learn $60.00 is automatically debited from your account. Quibids has no regard from taking advantage of online buyers.DON'T recommend.
QuiBids is not what you could call a Scam, but it is right out of the P. T. Barnum mold calling for a Sucker To Be Born Every Minute. As has already been pointed out here, QuiBids collects around $1000 in bids for every $100 worth of product it sells. You can spend a great deal of money here, and win NOTHING. The folks who dreamed this one up have what amounts to a legitimate con game going. Oh, you can win a $100 item for 50 cents now and then, but if you add things up you will see that you have spent $500, when this and your bids on other items, are added up, to do so.
Not really sure what to think - have bid on a few items but haven't won anything yet. Have seen the same bidders putting in a large number of bids which is questionable. The "Buy it Now" option makes the process a lot fairer since you can buy the item at retail price. I've googled the prices they offer and they seem fair - not the cheapest but certainly not out of the ball park for these items.
I would also advise on bidding some of the cheaper items which you wouldn't mind buying - they sell a lot of Target and Starbucks cards and I'm going to spend money there anyway. It's definitely gambling so use it as entertainment and be responsible.
The problem with this type of site is that there is only one winner and at 60 cents a bid you might get lucky and get an item really cheap but the other bidders are ripped off. I have seen an ipad go for $20 but if you figure it out for every dollar an item goes for it's $60 so for an item to sell for $20 that means the company made $1200 for an item that cost them $300. Def a rip off. So you make one bidder happy but the other 500 bidders just gave the company a crap load of extra money.
What can I say. I fell for the advertisement, but then learnt very quickly that it's nothing more than a hoax. Seriously, if bestbuy has ipods for $199, then thats the retail price. No way on earth that quibids will be able to deliver for $4.92! Save your money, and DO NOT sign up to this site.
Quibids is a great site that's easy to navigate. I had one issue where I bid on two items at once, one of which was a high priced item. I won the lower priced item and when I went to bid on the other again, a text box popped up saying I had reached my 12 win limit in the 24 day period. I contacted customer service because I had spent a lot on bids for the higher priced item and they were extremely helpful, understanding, and quick to respond. Overall, I am very satisfied with the customer service at Quibids.
The FAQ and Quibids101 are so focused on defining what makes this auction site different that more normal things like shipping information is not easily found. Also the launch page restricts what the potential new user can see so i couldnt observe an actual auction before registering. Their customer service response is fast and very understanding.
I went through the getting tricked into buying your first set of bid but was okay with it so I decided to use my bids. I actually won a sound bar, worth between £100-200 for depending on where you shop, and I thought that maybe the site was okay after all. But two days after I received an email saying they've disabled my account for no valid reason and demanded a list of documents and subsequently I wouldn't be receiving my item, this site is clearly set up to swindle people out of money. I would advise anyone planning on using it not yo
Whoever came up with Idea (website) is genius. I saw a Samsung 55" 240hz 3D LED HDTV going and still going (not ended yet) for $120 and probably will sell (auction) for around $250 or more. Now let see each bid is worth $0.60 and times that ******* it is going to make them (site owner) $*******. 00. Original T. V cost 2500. 00 a profit of $*******. 00 now that is making money thanks to lot of dumb people like us.
I signed up today. I have won two auctions for gift cards. They cost me total of $6.58 for cards that are $25 & $10. I only bid twice for both. I am pretty happy so far! I think most folks don't read the advice the site gives. One person said they wanted to do the "buy now" but it was gone when the auction ended... so dumb... you gotta look in your "Myquibids" area at what you had bid on and it will be there to buy minus what you spent bidding. So, anyway, that was so stupid. People gotta do their homework!
This is a COMPLETE RIP OFF! I would not suggest bidding on bids... that's how they get you. You pay 60 cents per bid and they go fast. I'm sure these guys are making a bundle, but they will not be getting any more of my money!
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
QuiBids has a rating of 2.8 stars from 3,066 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with QuiBids most frequently mention gift card, retail price and business model. QuiBids ranks 2nd among Penny Auction sites.
That is correct, every bid is equivalent to $0.60. Also, just because you do not win the auction does not mean it's over! We offer the Buy Now option: By utilizing the Buy Now feature, an investment of real bids never has to go to waste. Any ‘real’ bids you place in an auction will be discounted off of the Value Price. In addition to that, we will never allow a bidder to bid over the value price of that auction/item.
Feel free to contact Customer Support anytime Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM CST with any further questions and we will be happy to help you.
