This site is great and I am addicted. You can't expect to get on the site and start winning without doing your home work. This site works. I have won many items and have paid the full price through the buy it now option. If you are willing to do your homework and spend some time watching items before you bid you are more likely to win items. You can't expect to win items if you are only willing to put a few bids here and there.
This site is more or less gambling on products. You have better odds a Vegas. The problem is that the auction never ends and anyone can jump in at anytime, which extends and increases the price. The only winner is QuiBids, since they're taking in all the money. Users are basically subsidizing the products at 400+% the actual price. And, I believe, they make you pay for shipping. A fairer system would be to have a closeout, wherein the top two or three bidders remain either until they run out of bids or the final closing time. The closeout would kick-in at a price point where QuiBids breaks even or makes a 5-10% profit. That would be a fair system, one where more people could feel good about bidding and winning. I would stay away from this site and find sites like GroupOn where everyone wins when they buy in bulk.
I don't think it's a scam but I do think they must be raking in the money! It's very hard to win anything unless you stare at the computer and pay complete attention to it during the last few seconds (like 20 seconds). The last 20 seconds can go on for a long time so this is a real time-suck of a website. But I got a couple of things and then dropped out. It's too time-intensive.
It's an unbelievable scam!
This is why we need an Internet Police Force!
This quibids site is nothing but a SCAM! Beware, stay away, do not think you will get the deals they advertise. It's ambiguous, sneaky, and should be prosecuted by the States Attorney General! They are stealing people's money.
They won't use PayPal as it won't allow their shenanigans.
I'm an old timer and an eBay user. EBay is Honest, quibids is not honest!
STAY AWAY!
THIS SITE IS A SCAM, I REGISTERED AND STARTED BIDING THERE IS ALWAYS SOMBODY BIDDING AGAINST YOU, THEY MAKE YOU SPEND ALL THE BIDS YOU PURCHASED FROM THEM WHEN YOU REGISTER AN ACCOUNT FAST THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEBODY BIDING AGAINST YOU AND I WILL NOT BE SUPRISED IF THEY USE FAKE BIDS TO MAKE YOU PURCHASE MORE BIDS, THEY ARE REALLY DISHONEST ABOUT THE WAY THERE SYSTEM WORKS, STAY AWAY FROM QBIDS
All I can say is WoW, are ppl that OBLIVIOUS! I have created Bot's in my days and after watching the web site for only 2 hours I would stake my life on it that there web site uses them. I mean honestly it is more like gambling except the "house" the web site in this matter has all the cards, Think about it the site controls everything, even knows how much all bidder have to bid throw a bot in the mix bam greatest money maker ever. Sure ppl win it's like a pay off to get them talking to there friends. It is my opinion that once the Bot's have made the company a set amount of money not only to cover the cost of the product mind you this is for profit then the bots drop off and the next bidder wins if its you great you won, but it wouldn't surprise me that bots win auctions in order to re-list the item. This site has a lot of potential for the company who came up with it but as for this type of site I think we will see more because it is just that a great revenue maker that one can manipulate with most ppl being none the wiser even going out to bat for the company.
So I like many others found this site and was drawn in by the idea of getting high ticket items at cheap prices. After watching the site for about 10 hours over 2 days I realized a couple of things.
1.) Don't bother going for the high ticket items your just going to lose lots of money, unless you get lucky and win the "lottery".
2.) When you do find something that you wanna get make sure you are willing to pay for it regardless of the outcome. Since you can always apply the bid money towards the purchase of whatever it was you were bidding on.
So far I've purchased 47.20 in bids. I still currently have $25.20 of that 47.20 in bids and I've picked up 2 blu-rays I bought Sherlock Holmes for 5.06 (including shipping) and The Bourne Trilogy for 11.50 (including shipping) I checked amazon (where I normally buy my movies from) The Trilogy would of cost me $67.99 (including shipping) and Sherlock Holmes for $24.99 (including shipping) So not counting the 25.20 I still have in bids. Quibids has gotten 38.26 out of me, in exchange I picked up 92.98 worth in blu-ray movies that I planned on buying anyways.
Like everyone else has stated are there bots and employees bidding up the high ticket items I can't say, I would hope not but I'm not ignorant to the fact that they very well could be and there is no way for us to know. So my advice is still to the cheaper items you can get very good deals. I will keep using the site to buy movies and video games as long as they keep turning out to be cheap. You won't see me bidding any ipads or 46" LED tv's with the hopes of getting it cheap. I'm just not that lucky.
Also If you do plan on trying to pick up a higher more popular dollar amount try and be the last person in. Watch the item from start to finish don't drop in half way and start bidding let it go and watch for it the next time it comes up for "auction". You really need to watch the bidding habits of other people to see how much money they've put into it. The more information you have about your competition the better your chances are of winning.
This is more of a gambling website. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose, bet smart and you win more than you lose.
When the internet advances more quickly than our laws we end up with sites like this. They call this an "auction". The definition of an auction in the US is "the public sale of something to the highest bidder". This website is not an auction, but rather a gambling website where people buy cheap tokens in hopes of winning an expensive item. The are skirting the gambling laws that prohibit online gambling in the US and instead are getting away with calling these things auctions. Site is very misleading as they should not be allowed to use the word auction to describe their website. They should be forced to tell the public that this is a gambling/slot machine website. I have no doubt some people do win, but I have an issue with how the site portrays itself
Quibids is really a rip off. It's more gambling than a real auction, and they really make money by forcing you to pay for your bids. It's a scam. Avoid it!
I came across quibids by accident and was intrigued. After watching different auctions for a few days, reading reviews online, and understanding the risks I decided to give it a try. I purchased the $45 beginners package which includes 75 bids + a free 10 extra bids for a special promotion.
My Experience:
1. First attempt in an auction I lost and wasted 10 of my bids.
2. Second attempt I decided I was going all or nothing, so after 15 bids I ended up winning a brand new Nintendo DS Lite for. 72 cents. Shipping and handling was $10.00 (MSRP price for a Nintendo DS Lite is around $120)
3. Third try I placed one bid on a Tape Measure an won it for. 06 cents, shipping cost $5. (MSRP price for the tape measure is $20)
4. Fourth try I only had about 20 bids or so and wasted them trying to win one of the higher priced items.
In the end I won $140 worth of merchandise for $60.78
Conclusion:
I am very pleased with the great deal i received! I feel very fortunate and lucky to come out with what I did. It is possible to win but it is not probable (especially for high priced items). Anyone who is thinking about trying out this site should know that they can lose all there money and not have anything to show for it. My advice is know what you are getting into before you jump in, that way you won't be absolutely crushed if you lose your money!
Update: Okay so I recieved an email from quibids saying they will give 5 free bids if you share your positive experience on a review site like this one. I sent in the above^ review and recieve 5 free bids.
So with those 5 credited bids I bid 4 times and win a Apple Airport Express for. 42 cents+$5.99S&H (goes for about $100 from what I see online). Call me lucky, its almost laughable that I somehow keep winning but im loving quibids at the moment! Let me state that I do not work for quibids as im sure some of you that have had a negative experience may think. As you can tell im pretty enthusiastic about my wins.
Heres the links of my wins if you wish to check it out

Good luck!
There is a sucker born every minute. I am afraid that these are the same people that preyed on older people on the phone, now even older folks have computers.
This is the worst site ever for a consumer! I need not explain anymore of the negative aspects of this site, everyone's done it already. I only wish to give this a 1/4 stars, yet I wish I could rate it a zero. This is a money machine for the owners, and a complete scam for the consumers.
I also believe there are bots that were created by the site operators to outbid any real people. I was trying to buy a $100 gift card and wasted around $20 in a futile attempt at a win, yet was constantly outbid, and of course, lost; but the "person" who won was called mom35 or something like that and "she" spent over 100 bids winning the card for around $10; she spent around the $100, and a $500 profit for the owners.
Just do yourself a favor and take your money you plan on spending here and go to Vegas or get yourself a bunch of lottery tickets, at least you'll have a better chance of coming out ahead.
This site is horrible, I filed a complaint with the FTC and hope that everyone else who has been scammed by this site does as well. I feel this company makes an astronomical amount of money on information that is not verifiable. They say that they do not sell the products for more them what they are worth however make all their money from unsuspecting consumers. I saw a 50 dollar gift card sold for about 15 dollars however the company made 900 at. 60cents a bid (bids make the card price go up by 1 cent). It's not listed how much money you are spending each time you bid. This site is basically a gambling web site. I feel like this company misleads the consumer and set's false expectations, I'm not sure that the auctions/bidders are even real. I also think that they may tamper with the auction as the timers were sometimes off as well
FOR EVERYONE OUT THERE WHO THINKS THIS IS A HUGE CASH MAKING SCAM... YOUR WRONG! THIS SITE HELPS MAXIMIZE SALES, THATS ALL! EVERY SINGLE BID (. 60) THAT IS LOST IS NOT GOING INTO THE PROFITS OF THE COMPANY, IT IS REDEEMED AS CREDIT TOWARDS PURCHASING THE ITEM AT RETAIL. THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE DOING THE MATH AND SAYING THAT COMPANY MAKES THOUSANDS$$$ FROM THE ITEM IS DEAD WRONG. THAT MONEY IS NOT PROFIT BECAUSE THEY ARE CREDITING IT ALL BACK TO PURCHASING THE PRODUCT. DOES THIS INCREASE THEIR SALES, YES! BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE MAKING IT ALL INTO THEIR POCKETS... geez.
ALSO, IT IS VERY TRUE. UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO BUY THE PRODUCT AT REGULAR PRICE, DON'T BID! WHY IS THAT SO BAD? BASICALLY WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS, IF YOUR GONNA GO BUY SOMETHING TODAY, WHY NOT TRY OUR WEBSITE TO GET IT CHEAPER? IF YOU DON'T GET IT CHEAPER THEN JUST BUY IT... NO LOSS! THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT ONLY TO GET IT CHEAP, THEN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE LIKE EBAY? THIS SITE IS NOT FOR YOU, AND THEY SAY IT PLAIN A CLEAR THAT THIS SITE IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. BUT PEOPLE PLEASE STOP CALLING IT A SCAM, IT IS A GREAT IDEA TO MAXIMIZE GROSS SALES (NOT PROFIT).
If everyone just reads the Quibids 101 section, then 90% of these idiotic negative comments would not be here. I'm not an employee of Quibids nor do I have any association with them. I just hate it when ignorant people who lose money because they don't simply READ before they spend come slandering and bashing a great concept.
And its a MYSTERY why people bid, lose, DONT USE THE BUY IT NOW, and say they got nothing for their money.? Really? Who told you to bid on 30 different items? If you stay with 1 item, then simply use the buy it now if you didn't win, you would have lost NOTHING and simply bought the item at retail. REEEEEAD PEOPLE.
Complete scam, i have read all the bleeding heart, "we don't make money here because of all the "Buy it nows" we sell. I call BS, this site should be shut down. They say (even in their planted posts) don't bid unless you are willing to pay full price, well that would be fine except when you have 10 people bidding on an item and only one person wins, the others just wastes their money (unless they pay retail prices with the buy it now option) and i can tell you for one that if i wanted to do that, i wouldnt be bidding in an auction to begin with, i would go to Best Buy, someone who is trusted and reliable where i could return the item if it broke.
These guys have a great idea, but so do many criminals, we don't necessarily let crooks run wild in the street just because they have a good idea! Do we? (aside from the banking industry of course)
So... you get lured into "buying" bids/ I bought 45 bids for $25. I then stated bidding on a ipad that was going up in 1 Cent increments and wasn't getting anywhere with that, so I started bidding on a $15 gift card for iTunes. But I ran out of bids. So I stupidly went to buy more bids, which cost me another $25... and concentrated on getting the iTunes card. I still didn't win it... so then a little window comes up and says "Sorry you didn't win this, would you like to buy it for $2.57"? So I thought... OK, I'll buy it. Even though an itunes certificate can be transferred into your itunes account for free (just with a transaction number) they charged me $1.90 in shipping/handling charges. So, in the end, my $15 iTunes card ended up costing me over $53.00. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE! I was lured onto it by them showing me all these great deals people had won, but I don't believe than ANYONE actually won a prize worth over $200 for less than $5. What a horrible rip off.
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
