FYI- I placed 1 bid. Buying bids cost you money. If you are stupid with how you place your bid, you will lose your shirt. A guy from my jobs STINKS at Quibids. He has lost about $100.00 so far because the way he bids is dumb.

I have won around 30 items so far. I am happy with the process. I enjoy getting good deals. I did spreadsheet to find out how much I actually saved, and after all was said and done with bids and shipping cost, I am saving about 15 to 20%. I bid for the fun factor. I haven't won a big ticket item yet. Feels good to pay 4 cents for a blue ray and 4 bucks for shipping... they are IMO the best deals and easiest to get cheap

This site makes a lot of $ for itself. With every click it's costing the person bidding 60 cents. If you were to go to a 25 cent slot and played only 50 cents you'd have a better chance at winning something. I find my hand goes way too fast as I'm sure most of you do. You're not spending a penny a click, it's 60 cents! I've also noticed that the prices they list for home items are always more than you can get them for in a store with a coupon! This is definitely a gambling site. If you can't control yourself you will lose. The bill from your charge account
Will come in the mail next month--- don't forget that. I've tried it, I've seen how the bids work and the "names" of the people who "seem" to win a lot. I don't like having the clock go up 15 seconds after you bid. It would seem that if it was a legitimate site the clock would go down and stay there. By going up, it just keeps the cycle of clicking continuing. Even on Bidz.com, you don't have to buy bidz up front. You see exactly what you are spending when you bid. Be careful on this site.

Scam, plain and simple.

After loosing some $$s and observing some strange behaviors I decided to go for small, simple things. The site lists a bunch of blue-rays. I selected a dozen or for my watchlist. After few hours I had a list showing that they typically go for anywhere between 20 cents and $2.40 - no more. So I picked one, just expiring. I open the page and there are only 2 bids. The moment I enter the two "players" start bidding like crazy - In 3 seconds there are 6 more bids. So I wait until counter winds down to 2 sec and bid. The site responds: Illegal bid - auction closed - or something. 2 seconds later I'm being informed that on of the 2 guys bought the blu-ray for $0.60, spent $3.60 on bids and saved 85% off list.

If I manage to buy blu-ray, I will let you know.

It's too hot to sleep so I was randomly surfing the computer and stumbled upon QuiBids. I thought, what the heck. I read the FAQs to get a handle on the process and the terms and conditions. I bought the smallest bid pack possible for $27.

They make newbies participate in small auctions first for bid vouchers. No problem. I got one for about $1 and then moved on to the "ending auctions." Within 10 minutes, I had won a $50 Target gift card for 72 cents. I used about half of my bids to win the gift card so, all told, I spent about $20 to win a $50 gift card. That's quite good. And I still have a lot of bids left to try for something else.

That said, you have to be judicious. You can't just keep clicking on the "bid" button and use up all of your bids fast. I'm brand new at this but it seems to me that you need to sit back and watch how the bidding is going and how many people are in. I hesitated a split-second too long on another gift card auction, figuring someone else would bid again but no one did in time. Oh, well.

Sure they're making money hand over fist with this but it's a business. And people choose to participate, or not. It's the same concept as a raffle or lottery -- people buy one ticket or many but only one person will get the prize and all of the proceeds go to the sponsor.

I'm very pleased with my gift card win but that doesn't mean I'm going to be on that site playing all of the time. I probably won't even try for the big items. But if you keep it in perspective, bid carefully, only spend a limited amount of money on bids, and don't get carried away in the process, then it's fun and you might get some good deals.

THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. TOTAL RIPOFF. They tell you that if you lose the auction, you can apply what you bid towards the "retail" price. What they do NOT tell you is that their "retail" price is almost TWICE what any other retail price is for the exact same item. For example, they say the retail price for an IPad, 16 GB, is $730. Actually, it is $499 anywhere else. When I brought this to their attention, they sent a form email telling me it is because they are hard to get. Huh? At the very least, they should say their "retail" price is fabricated and different from what it would cost anywhere else. I have seen this on other items as well. STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES.

I bought the smallest 45 bid pack. After about an hour and placing 9 bids, I requested a refund of my unused bids. Customer service said it would require 1-2 days for a partial refund to my credit card. We shall see.
I agree with previous reviews labelling this site as a gambling website. Winning one of these auctions is largely a matter of chance. "Winning" can be very costly, both in terms of your money and your time. Definitely not for me.

Enjoyed the site at first one two auctions and really thought it was a good thing.

Then one day

There were items I had been bidding aggressively on, spending over a hundred dollars in bids and they were down to the last few seconds when the site had paused... so I watched and waited for the site to re-launch and when it did they wouldn't let me BID! I could only bid through bid o matic and it seemed like that's all anyone else could do either except for TWO users wontstopnow and nj. Something or another. This leaves me to believe they those two 'users' work for the site! How could everyone else not be able to put in single bids and only these to two users.

I wrote a complaint to quibids and they have not replied.
Wrote another one. Still no reply.

Great site until you start to watch the auctions and realize that they have people working for them to keep the prices going up and up...

It is fun, it takes a lot of time, patience and concentration. I compare it to playing the lottery or gambling. I have won about 8 items in 40 days and most of them have already been delivered in original packages. I did lose money in the beginning because I didn't focus and study. I have read quibids 101 at least 3 times and read the testamonials. You have to set a personal limit on the amount of bids plus sale price that you are willing to commit.

As others have stated in their reviews this website can be great if you are patient and take your time to learn how to go about bidding. I however didn't really do this at first and so far I am about even in what I have paid for the items I have purchased through the site. The best way to approach this is to only go with a product in mind that you would be purchasing anyway. This will save you some time and money versus just going to the site and bidding on random things just because they are a "deal." While that can be the case, for example I won a $100 gift card to Lowes for only SIXTY TWO CENTS but the total. There is also the other side of the coin in which I paid over full price for a camera as I was determined to win and put in almost 200 bids as SIXTY CENTS a bid so roughly $120 and then loosing the auction and buying it anyway with the buy it now option. So in all I paid about $300 for a camera I could have bought on EBAY for about $270 shipped. So in all I would recommend QUIBIDS if they have something you would plan on buying anyway but don't go and bid aimlessly or you will loose money.
