Caveat - I only use for audiobooks. Best thing about the service is the price. It's very affordable and you can stream from a wide choice of content for a low monthly fee whereas on Audible it was costing me significantly more (I'm addicted to audiobooks, don't judge). However, the app itself is not very user friendly and it can be difficult to find what you're looking for. Once I figured it out, I thought it would be smooth sailing. Unfortunately, it looses my place in my audiobook all the time causing me to fast forward, freezes most of the time when trying to fast forward or rewind, and can take a long time to start the audiobook if it starts at all, often it doesn't. Only a small quantity of the audiobooks are available to download for offline listening, and those, once downloaded, work fine. I'm still on the fence whether I'll stay or switch back to Audible because these things are very aggravating. Their idea is good if they could only improve the user experience.
I was very hopeful about the Playster experience, and the concept and price certainly give the app the potential for greatness. However, in its current form the app has so man bugs and malfunctions that it's just meh. I only use for audiobooks, and had planned to upgrade to full use (and cancel other paid apps) if I liked it. Not going to happen any time soon. Content doesn't always start playing when connected, I can't use my car's play/pause controls with this app and have to control from the phone, I have to go into the app on the phone to play (but can pause from the lock screen), the last chapter of books regularly won't play. It's extremely frustrating to use overall.
I like that I have the ability to listen to more than one book, but they are a bit too selective and do not allow really "good" books in the "unlimited" audiobook subscription.
Have been a very happy member of Playster for a few months now except today they jacked up all their books by 50% with no warning. Bait and Switch tactics at play. Super disappointed in this app, would have been a long term member if they hadn't done this.
Read above lower price looking for something better it has a great possibility but the price went up all night f the sudden. The app works ok but not great. Other audiobooks sites like audible are much better

I signed up for the free trial and decided in the end that I wanted to cancel as the subscription just didnt fit into my budget. I had a bit of a hard time cancelling because my computer is so slow, but I called their customer service line and they were very helpful and friendly so I was able to cancel without much hassle. Playster was fun to try, but for now, I will avoid a monthly subscription.

This app is a joke... I used it before and as soon as my usage was approximately a book a day... I got the same results. You have violated our algorithm... Haha! I am a mother of 5 with no knowledge of how to share your audiobooks... I had a new device... new email... new credit card... and you did the same thing... your unlimited access is a joke! The worst part is that I was stupid enough to think that if I paid more... your 29.95 vs. 10.95 then it was going to be different... going to spread the word as much as I can! I use a couple other library apps that are FREE! They may not have the selection... but at least they don't advertise something that they are willing to stand behind!
Playster has a lot of content, but their books collection is easily the best of what they have to offer. If you are a reader I would definitely recommend their service, but if you are looking for other content, I’d maybe wait to see if they can bring it to the same level as their books.

We love all the content in our collection, but if you're only on Playster to read, we'd suggest signing up for our books-only subscription, which gives you access to our complete e-books and audiobooks library for a lesser rate than you pay for the full-package deal. I enjoyed playster for the price I was paying ($15). The app was glitchy and the selection wasn't great but for that price I still enjoyed it. They recently doubled the price for the majority of the books they have workout warning. One week they were missing and the next they returned but at a premium price. I dropped it like a hot potato.
I think Playster is one of those things that you didn't know you needed until you try. It's much simpler than having multiple apps and the selections are very good (especially books and music). The Android app has updated twice since I started using it including in the past week. It's good that they're maintaining it and I hope it'll get better as time goes on.

Hi. Just a quick review about Playsters horror movie selection. Some good stuff in here, a lot of off the beaten path horror movies you might not think to watch otherwise. The selection varies quite a bit based on your geographical location, so make sure you have a VPN installed to get the best use out of your membership. If anything, the free trial is a whole month, so you can sign up and have a lot of horror movies available when you want to watch them (its Halloween soon!). Maybe not as good as Netflix, but definitely not a bad service.

I joined Playster for its books but actually find myself using the games the most. You can find just about any kind of game and its fun to just try different things. Great for long journeys and short attention spans!

While I'm very satisfied with the content and the pricing, a lot of the time I am unable to listen to the books I have selected. The site says not available. It is not a result of bad Internet because one day it works fine and then nothing. Very frustrating. I may go back to Audible who were much more reliable
I wanted this to be my answer to getting rid of amazon once and for all but alas, they don’t have tv shows! Hopefully that is on the way because I really appreciate the book selection and I see new movies in theaters so this has everything I want to watch. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

I clicked something by accident when I signed up and it billed me, but the support agent I spoke to was very friendly and they refunded me right away. I even got an email a few days later to check Id got the refund. Very very good service!

Playster was good to begin with but when they doubled the price for audiobooks, I was disappointed. I don't pay for full access so the selection for books is okay but not great. I am going to keep the membership for now, but not sure how long. The site has a few bugs and sometimes I can't get the audiobooks to play.

I joined for the audiobooks and I have a premium membership. The selection of authors I like is very limited. When their audiobooks available the audiobooks are older. Which is okay as there are favorites to listen to again.
When the app works it works great. When the app doesn't work it's frustrating. Either sever error messages appear way too long or authors that once had audiobooks available will have no audiobooks listed.
When the app is working and audiobooks appear it's a great service. However, it seems to work only half the time. Weighting the cost of premium membership and the amount of time the service is available I'm thinking Audible may be a better option for me.
I really, really wanted Playster to work. I would hear about a great book, and moments later be listening to it. A really fabulous experience! Except reopening the app daily, selecting the book, waiting a minute or two for it to open. When the app worked at all. Probably reinstalled it 20 times over 3 months. And even when the book started, it would constantly pause. And cut off the last 5 to 15 seconds of most segments.
This site could be the next big thing if they play their cards right. There is a lot of content. They need to work on organizing it better because the potential for cross-media recommendations is a really cool idea. There is a lot of good stuff on Playster, they just need to make it easier to find.

The server wont connect and when I upgraded my service I have to wait until the next billing cycle. So I have books I cant finish for another 30 day. This is the worst part
