Very bad customer care who you will sweat to reach out. They hold the money for no reason, they have the worst privacy policy, they do not listen to customers! I can write a whole book on their negative side. I would advice you choose Payoneer instead
I had an incredible experience with PayPal. I had just set up my website and needed to get PayPal going with it to take payments. A customer service rep named Rebecca helped me greatly. She quickly gave me instructions and videos on payment buttons, info to contact the tech support guys if I had problems with integration, got me in touch with the sales team which has given me some great payment tools for my roadshows, and she even gave me some resources to help with funding for my business! I think she works in Arizona. Can't say enough good things about her.
Just had a purchase last July on ebay with tools. The tools were defective, had used my credit card through paypal to buy item. Total cost was just under $300 in two separate purchases from same seller supposedly because misunderstanding of tools being bought one other item was needed for the tool to be useable. Long story short, I emailed merchant, they went into denial about defective part but admitted milling of tool could have been better. I called my credit card about item and asked for refund and sent email to seller to send postage so I could send item back. Seller ignored my request, credit card then refunded my funds. So seller went to ebay, got my credit card information and did a sale directly out of their store, I contacted my card and they then could see the fraud through my emails and paypal@ which capital one gave me my funds back. EBAY and PAYPAL are a working unethical business and it's just a matter of time where their bad deeds will get them in trouble!
Company used to be great. Have had paypal payment errors 3 times. The first 2 times they resolved it within 3 days. Last year and the year prior. This time they are not able to. I have had 5 interactions with their complaints department and they keep going around in circles. Have reported them to afca. Will not use them anymore. They have been holding funds for 3 weeks now due to an error on their end. They intermittently refer to the wrong transaction. Then tell me to wait a few weeks to see if it clears. Every time it is a different person. Clearly they have outsourced their call centres, their staff are not trained properly and do not know how to fix anything. Steer clear of this company.
Despite the claims, PayPal does not offer seller protection. EVERY complaint, even those unjustified, will 100% of the time be decided in the buyer's favor. Even though your legitimate sell does not qualify for a return based on site rules, PayPal will allows force you to allow the return. This is not what they advertise. Sell at your own risk. Use other payment methods when available.
After trying to transfer my PayPal money which was on hold as normal. And contacting PayPal which is a waste of time as nobody understands you. One Indian call center transfered me to a so called manager. After I was coaxed into giving bank details to get money off hold. Within minutes they went into my bank account and stole every penny plus 100 pound overdrawn!. Never will use PayPal again. One really badly managed organisation
Very very displeased with the new PayPal and what they call their Resolution Center that apparently just backs up the scammers from China. Sad, I feel like they used to offer consumer protection, but that's no longer the case. Time to look for a reputable company that offers better service. Bye-bye PayPal... you can keep the scammers.
Every time you are on chat with PayPal it takes over an hour for someone to connect to you. When you finally do connect with them they are the worst at helping you with your problems. I inevitably have to call back on a phone to get whatever problem resolved. They hold money for no rhyme or reason. Have had transactions with no delay in funds all the way to 21 days. If you send items by a truck they act like they can't go to a carriers website to confirm tracking. It is your fault that the item you sell doesn't get shipped through UPS, FedEx or the Post Office. All in all bad service.
I have had PayPal for about a year without issues but recently that has changed. I noticed missing funds from my debit card. I have been in contact with customer service and they said they will look into and get back to me. It's been 3 days now and no email from them. I am getting heated as I speak.
Paypal advocates that they are a secure way to make and receive payments and that is a lie. I had purchased an item from a website, that turned out to be a scam. I provided Paypal evidence of all this evidence of credibility, that the order was never mailed and they still declined my case. Deleting my account after dealing with this bull$#*!. They will no longer receive my business. They allow fraudulent accounts to steal people's money. I filed 4 complaints on the same transaction, 2 automatically denied the minute of submitting, not even looking at the case filed. They say purchases are covered, but that turned out to be a lie as well.
PayPal is very convenient & they have helped me to get a credit from several merchants. Just this week, Gopro had charged me $49.99 for something and Gopro has no customer service. I finally got a credit because of Paypal. I'll keep using PayPal but not any further Gopro stuff.
The sites customer service is awesome and the usefulness of this website is priceless but disputes take over 2 weeks! By then most people have to pay bills and how are they suppose to pay them a dispute takes that long. Also this is not paypal's fault but it includes them, since internet fraud is literally everywhere now most websites switch to only way you can pay is through paypal, and to get a certain amount you NEED a verified paypal account, where you have ALL of your credit card info. And bank account linked, and also almost 100% approval of purchases, would that make you nervous? Well this happened to me, "friend" got mad at me and this friend was pretty close to me so he knew my email and a close friend could nearly guess his own friends likely passwords, so he got into my paypal account and bought useless things that added up to 10 thousand dollars, no matter what paypal does, not even they can stop fraud.
Amazing!? I get a $700 dollar payment from one of my clients and my account is limited? What gives? The morons at Paypal limited my account permanently for one payment and they never want to do business with me again. I can't fathom the thought of these big businesses relying on Paypal for all their transactions, it's just absurd.

Our account got hacked back in April 2022. Someone opened up a account and used our last name only, opened a email similar to ours and transferred our money into his account. We notified PP immediately and they have ignored us now for months. Lies after lies and nothing. I see class action suits against them for much more money than our $125.00. FIX THIS PAYPAL! CS sucks!
Bought a transmission for my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder for $1650 from a company in Rhode Island that turned out to be faulty. Contacted the seller who doesnt want to hear about it. But I used PayPal so that I would have protection if there was a problem! Or so I thought! After weeks and weeks of responding to ridiculous reasons from Paypal for denying my case I have just been told that it has gone on for too long and case is closed. Never again will PayPal get a cent of my money. Shame on them!
Paypal cooperates with scammer companies. A shop has charged my account multiple times and Paypal customer service ruled that "No tracking provided" is evidence enough that they are right. I will delete my account as soon as possible. Never use this service, it could ruin you.
PayPal makes life easier. Their fees have been increasing, but not to the point that it's no longer worthwhile to use it. It is helpful to be cautious with the check payment option; wait until they confirm it clearing before you give your customer their product.
Paypal has a feature special built for scammers called " family and friends" if you pay there and dont get your product, you can never be refunded. Total Scam. Stay away from Paypal. They always take the scammers side in a dispute.
I have been using paypal for the past 10 years or so. It is 100% safe and secure and customer service is great. The largest online banking system with millions of users, billions and transactions and because the few people on here who had a problem, (probably their own faults) Paypal is no good? LOL Paypal is great and the sheer fact that they are part of ebay and other multi-billion dollar companies prove that.
Worst app ever! My account been locked for 2 years and they said it would be unlocked after 6 months. I've never did anything wrong and my money is locked in an account they can't seem to unlock. So I advise u to put your money in a bank, do not use PayPal

I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
