Hair toppers

"I recently purchased a hair topper from Paula Young for over $72. I was very disappointed with the product. It was not as described and it did not work as expected. Unlike the picture in the advertising, it was completely fake. I returned the product to Paula Young, the day I ordered the hair topper. I spoke to someone at Paulo Young. I asked them in case if the product is not to my satisfaction how much of my money they will cheap and I was told only $10 that would be for the shipping however, when I returned the product, I only received approximately $32. That means they deducted abut $40 from what I paid at the beginning. The toppers was so big when I tried it it looked like doom on my head. I am very dissatisfied with that product and the customer service, it took them approximately two months for them to return my money, and I had to call constantly to make sure that I do get my money back, I would not recommend any purchase from Paulo Young to anyone to anyone."absolutely horrible experience.

Write off this company- used their label (cost $10.95) to exchange a wig - 4 weeks later disappeared because their label is not accepted - I even called first to Paula Young wigs and was told to use their label to return at a cost of $10.95. I'll never get the exchange because their return label is not valid. These ppl are crooks

I received the wig & it was the wrong color (my mistake). I asked to have it replaced with the right color. They decided to call it only a return so they could charge me a $20. Restocking fee. What a scam.

Dissatisfied

This company will tell you one thing and the cost you purchase up by double the original price. I was totally dissatisfied with the complicated bate and switch routine that they came up with. I can not even give them a decent rating on their product. I was discussed with the whole process.

First I ordered a hair piece in May, color didn't match I used their label to return, I tracked this package and they kept saying they didn't have it yet but tracking said they did. When I called about it they said I was getting very close to my 30 days but if I ordered another wig they would extend my time to 60 days. There were 2 wigs I wanted to try so I ordered them. I liked one and wanted to return one. I decided not to use their label because of the previous return experience. I called twice to get the address to send it back telling them I was sending it UPS. Both times I was given the same address, I spent 17.00 to return it UPS. 2 weeks later box is returned to me with a sticker that says refused! When I called to find out why, I was told oh you can't send UPS to that address now I am out of time to return. What a dishonest company. Never again. I contacted my credit card company and filed a claim.

Color choices

There are not enough color choices especially for red hair. There is absolutely no strawberry blonde or light red. 502B is the closest to a light red and it's not available in enough styles.

The customer service reps must only know what is scripted for them. Each time I call, I have every detail on hand-customer order #, date of order, etc. Still, no matter how prepared I am, they are clueless and ask me the same canned questions over and over again.
Recently, I ordered two wigs and called to change the color of one wig on the same day I ordered. I explained clearly that I was only charging the color BEFORE they get processed and shipped. The rep went into a whole speech about the condition the wigs must be in before I return them. We went in circles for what seemed like forever forever and I'm convinced she still couldn't figure out what I was saying. Now I'm waiting to most likely get the wrong wigs and them have to deal with them again.
They are always the worst. Not their fault. Paula Young needs to hire English speaking reps for their US customers. It's too frustrating to ever order from them again.
On a side note, don't get excited about their clearance wigs. Almost always they are horribly damaged returns and then you get the misfortune of having to deal with customer service.

Returned a wig, wrong color, called rep and she proceeded to go on and on about promotions. Her english was terrible and worst conversation ever. Will never buy a wig again from them. Never did get the right wig.

Do not buy from them!

I have ordered a few wigs from them & while none were exactly like the picture, they were close enough or I at least felt I could roll with it, UNTIL this last one in early April 2023. I order a wig color name Silver Mist, and while the only showed a small bottom half of the wig in Silver Mist, the full picture of the wig was in a brown color & the style was very cute. The Silver Mist Wig arrived, I lifted the top off the box and stopped right there, the entire top half of the wig was the blackest black I have ever seen and it gradually faded into the silver mist on the bottom half. I called them immediately. No matter how I showed them this was THEIR error to have not listed the black portion of the wig they refused to not charging me and outrageous "RESTOCKING FEE". I paid a lot of $$ for the wig, there was no way I was keeping it, but I will NEVER buy another wig from them again. Do not trust the colors nor the pictures of the wigs

Daughter and I are both new to wigs. I ordered accessories for both of us, to make our first trip out in our new styles. There was an attempt to deliver yesterday (Friday), but couldn't complete because Paula Young shipping didn't ship to my complete address. The shipment was returned to PY, now we're not able to enjoy our day out the way we'd planned, on Monday.
To top it all off, while waiting for my delivery, I called one of the "consultants" to ask about wigs with little or no permatease. He had no clue what I was talking about. I was referred to the catalog that I'd already gone thru, with no luck.
Then, when asked a question about something else, his response was word for word taken from the same catalog I was looking at.
I'm very angry, probably won't deal with Paula Young again.
If I could give no stars, I would.

They rip of people

I bought bangs for $19.99. They charged me $1.95 for "delivery surcharge". It didn't mention anything about this when I placed the order. $8.99 for shipping and $2.18 for taxes. Basically the $19.99 item cost me $33.11. It was very poorly made so when I got it 2 weeks later I immediately returned it. They charge me $9.99 for the return shipping label. So this item cost me $43.10. They refunded me only $10.59! When I contacted them to see why they didn't at least refund me the taxes they collected from me (an additional $1.59) they kept saying they have a new policy that they charge that amount for returned items. I said no where in the catalog or on their website indicates this. They kept saying it's a NEW policy! I reported them to the BBB. They rip of people. That's how they make money.

I have bought their wigs before but the quality of wigs has gone down hill. I was on phone 2hrs today. Was sent wrong item but because on sale I can't get refund although it was their error. I will never shop at Paula Young again. I again say service is the worst! Do not buy Turban with long wavy hair!

Very dissatisfied!

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. I will give them ZERO stars. I am furious. I ordered a wig that was beautiful in the ad. What I received was a wig that was so BARE on the crown area you could actually see the netting. There was NO WAY I could wear this wig. I wrote a letter asking for a full refund including postage, handling and the surcharge. My letter explained why I thought I deserved a FULL refund. When my refund credit came through, I was not even refunded the cost of the wig and shampoo (which I never opened because I couldn't wear the "defective" wig). I ended up having to pay $29.17 for something that should never have been sent to me because it was DEFECTIVE. PLEASE...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS FRAUDULANT COMPANY!

I just happened to notice a monthly charge taken directly out of my checking account to Paula Young. This has been going on for months, now that I've searched and found it. After talking to their call center, I was told that it's a "membership fee" that I never signed up for. What slimy business practices. I've bought their wigs since having chemo 12 years ago. Never again. They've lost a good customer.

DO NOT BUY FORM PAULA YOUNG!
My mom is elderly and is very self-conscious and embarrassed about her hair loss. She also cannot get out much and does not drive anymore, there are not many wigs' shops around, so I decided to order from Paula Young. I was told that we could try the wig on and return it. How do you buy a wig if you cannot try them on and see what you are comfortable and what looks good on you in when you have no hair. I was told that I would pay $9.95 to return it for shipping. So, if we ordered 3 wigs it would cost $30 just to return them all. Ridiculous! My mom is on a fixed income, and we ordered one wig, and it had no clips in the front to keep it on her head and it kept popping off.

I called to complin that it had no clips and to return it. Paula Young kept $24.19 of my mom's money, and she still had no wig to cover her head. My mom paid over $56 for the wig. I guess that is a way to make money from people, have them buy your product, don't give them a credit or a full refund. So now she is out $24 to buy another wig and has no wig at all. Be careful if you buy, if you do not like it, they will charge you a lot to take it back. Also, DO NOT CUT The TAGS OUT, they will not take it back then either. We did not cut out the tags and still got charged $24 to send it back and the lady on the phone never told us it would be that much to return it; she just said it was going to be $9.95 for shipping so they lied too. Really sad to take advantage of people who are already suffering.

Inaccurate Descriptions

Wigs "rooted" with dark roots do not look natural on me so I avoid them. I came across a cute style called Salem on the Paula Young site and the color I liked described the roots as "medium honey blonde" in color. A blonde shade of roots was light enough for me so I ordered it. Turns out the roots are actually much darker than "medium honey blonde," more like a very dark brown, and it looked terrible on me. So I needed to return it. However, they deduct the cost of the return shipping label that is included in the box, even when the issue is not your fault, like an inaccurate color description. (No actual photo of that wig in the color I chose is on the website.) I called to request that the return shipping cost not be deducted from my refund and I explained why, but it was deducted anyway.

I've been a Paula Young customer for many years. In the past, I was happy with my purchases and their response to any problems which arose.

Things have changed!

There has been a steady erosion of customer service, along with a strikingly dramatic rise in fees - to the point where I am done! The most recent exchange came as a result of a $22 merchandise credit sitting in my account because of an earlier return. I selected a wig priced at $56.99. When I spoke with their customer service (a decided oxymoron) representative, she informed me that my price for the wig (INCLUDING my credit) would be slightly over $60! This included a 40% shipping fee - 40%!

I could offer other examples of 'milking the customer' but I'll leave it at that. Avoid this company like the plague.

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I would not give even one star if not forced to check one! Operators do not give any updates. Will only repeat structured comments, sounds like a recording. Mailed 11/10/22 for an exchange. They say received on 11/21. Still processing on 12/1/22. Will not say where exchange is in the process. Never again! Pay more for better service.

Customer service is very rude and very unhelpful. They take a month to get wigs to you and more than a month to handle exchanges or returns. They charge a restocking fee even though they start counting that you've had the wig since the day you purchased it and they say they didn't get it for 2 weeks after you send it back. The wigs are subpar for the most part but the worst of the matter is the slow delivery, the poor customer service and they charge your credit card more than what the wigs cost and it takes forever for a mistake to drop off your credit card so it ties up your credit. I have ordered from other wig companies. Have the wig in less than a week. Get refunded in less than a week or exchanged in less than a week and they have great customer service. I will not order from Paula Young again. I am still waiting since October 3rd to get refunded and credited back to my credit card. I ordered the wig.com. Turns out they came from Paula Young. Won't make that mistake again. Restocking fee is $20 even though you turn and send the wig back the same day you received it because of their poor service.
