“Amazing”

Super amazing website and launcher. Nothing but the best quality, super easy to use and very simple. I had to reset my password and it was super smooth and definitely not inconvenient at all. Never has it made me log in more than once a year and always keeps me signed in, and on top of that, they are super secure so my account never gets hacked. 10 of 10 stars would highly recommend. Id give it 11 of 10 if i could!

“Never Purchase Anything Through an Origin Account”

Thorne W.
7/27/23

I've put hundreds of dollars into EA games (thankfully mostly physical copies), and my account is gone forever. Several years ago I lost access to the email tied to the account (the email provider deleted it, and I didn't catch it until months later), contacted them about it, and was told I needed proof of ownership of at least one of the games digitally connected to the account, which requires: photos of the CD, the code(s) for the game, proof of the cost of the game, and a receipt... Seeing as the game franchise I had both physical and digital of was nearly 10 years old at this point in time... I had everything except the receipt, because why would I? So they wouldn't help me. Tried again one more time, and now the Origin account has been *deleted* and the only way to recover it is by sending a recovery email to that email that I have no access to. I have tried contacting the email support, but they have a 30 day policy on their deletions. The big takeaway is that your Origin account can just casually be deleted at any point. That shouldn't be a thing with monetary purchases involved. There is literally no reason to purchase anything through them, the entire point of having an account is to have everything protected and accessible for the future.

This gaming platform is trash. After I finally managed to move around the installation files enough to fix the garbage broken software I PAID THEM FOR to get it to run, they passed another update and broke the game again, only now the files I removed aren't there to fix it again. Never, ever buy anything related to Westwood studios from them, EA is a disgrace and will literally sell you a broken product and provide ZERO customer support. They're scum.

Tip for consumers:
If you HAVE to get a game through this garbage because Windows 10 made your LEGAL copies of these games unplayable, make sure you google search the community to see if the games are actually playable. If not, EA will NOT fix it.

So because I got tired of dealing with how slow and tedious the site was I started buying my games on steam but there was an awesome STEAM sale on an EA game so I went ahead and nabbed it.

Now to play this fully installed game I once again have to waste time installing that piece of bloat ware Origins. Which is a total waste and has had four errors causing its own download to restart. Its been 45 minutes.

No more EA games. This is the last of my money

Tip for consumers:
Dont.

I called them for an issue I couldnt get done online. The waiting duration and waiting music/blabbering was so mind-numbing that I decided to cancel my connection altogether. I found a different provider while waiting, signed up(!) and by the time it was my turn, I CANCELLED!
SO RELIEVING - thanks guys!

Origin is a joke of a site and service. I would never use Origin if EA didn't force it on me. Every time I try to play a game tied to Origin, it says it needs to update, the update fails and their help online does nothing to fix the issue (which has been around for more than five years at this point). Crazy how I can use other game storefronts without any issue, yet Origin is still as broken and buggy as it was at launch.

This is by far the most worthless, horribly put-together piece of garbage program I have ever used. For games that require Origin to play it is a constant nightmare. I have tried on multiple machines and always have SOME sort of issue. EA needs to stop trying to make people use this awful system and until it is completely overhauled or removed completely I STRONGLY suggest not even bothering playing any EA titles that require it.

Keeps saying ''Your credentials are incorrect or have expired. Please try again or reset your password''. And when I try to reset my password it sends me empty emails. I have to contact the customer service everytime I want to log in. They've even resetted my whole account yet nothing changed. So annoying. Also tried to use another account to play, but of course it won't let me because I don't have the game code. There's no way I can play my games.

EA has disabled my log in because it has been a while since I have played. I moved from Pa to TN. It took a while to get the computer set up at the new location. After having purchased several hundred dollars worth of games over the years, they are all lost because EA killed the old log in. I have a different IP so I cannot change the old email address. And the MOST frustrating thing about these thieves, they do not have any customer support. I still have the actual game on my computer, but without an EA log in, It blocks my access to the game.

I am forced to use Origin to launch The Sims, and first of all I don't understand why that's necessary. It's downloaded on my computer, all the files are there, so why do I need some nonsense third party app to launch a game? Maybe there is some programming bs I don't understand, but either way it's so tedious. Especially when it randomly decides you need internet for it to function. Half the reason I have The Sims on my laptop is so I can play it without anywhere, especially without internet.

Origin also likes to randomly sign me out even though I have the option to stay sign in marked. And then I couldn't remember my password, and to change it I can't even click out of the window that got me there or else the whole action is cancelled.

Origin is a waste of space, I only have it because I've been forced to, there are no redeeming qualities, even the user interface is incredibly ugly and awkward.

Tip for consumers:
Don't waste money on packs from the sims, a new disappointing Sims 5 game is allegedly just around the corner.

The Sims 4 and hundreds of dollars in expansion packs, stuff packs, etc.

Once upon a time you could buy you games from EA and you owned them, you had access to them whenever your adorable little heart desired. Then one terrible day Origin came along and ripped our games away, it said "you can only have these if you have internet connection" but then we desperately try to login with the correct credentials and it screams "THOSE ARENT CORRECT!" And you cry because they are, then finally, in a moment of great desperation you try to reset your password, but what's this? It never comes, request as much as you like you'll never be able to reset your password and you'll never be able to play the pretty skeleton that is known as The Sims 4 without that previous internet connection. In conclusion, Origin is a joke, it's full of so many unforeseeable problems it's just crazy, but what option do I have? No really, is there another option? I'd do anything to be able to play the Sims with out any disgusting Origin interference.

First time I am buying a game online, it hasn't been 24 hours I already regret opening an account with Origin. I couldn't believe that EA can make such a crappy platform. EA acts like they are untouchable and nothing can hurt them, but if they keep on like this even their most faithful fans will ditch them. Origin is offline all the time, crashing every 15 min, definitely stay away from Origin and EA.

I Have always hated origin / have always had issues with it. Literally only use it for sims. I have been logged out 3 times over the years having to buy games again as they wont let me back in. Would hate to think how much money ive spent through them and its all wasted. I only play sims like once a month and origin is not worth the hassle.

Bought a game about 3 months ago and started playing, i got bored and stopped. Yesterday i decided to log back in my account and started playing. Today i went back on and suddenly it kicked me out with no explanation! It said 'cannot log in without internet connection', but i had internet. I have just logged in to see no games in my library. 0/5 stars, very horrible customer service and very horrible help! And whatever the 'product code' is to 'access your game anytime, anywhere - even if you lose your disc' doesn't work as well! Very horrible engine do not recommend at all! A summary of what happened to me is my account got reset. My Wishlist, my icon, my games, even my achievements!

I want to thank everyone at Origin Broadband for the smooth transfer of broadband supply recently.
In particular thanks to Gareth at the technical dept who helped me with a Wi Fi password problem. He was very patient on each of the three times I phoned. He took me through the steps for password set up and even though I typed in the wrong password Gareth guided me through the process again until it was successful. Gareth was friendly and knowledgable and a credit to your company

I only use it when I play sims. Which is every so often. It takes ************** years to start just the log in screen. I just sit there clicking, and half the time I never even get a chance to play because it takes all day. Plus it crashes.

It is the worst at playing games, even worse than epic games which says a lot. I cannot believe that any game designers would sign a contract to have origin be the platform they wish to be presented on. Plenty of crashing and lag moments where the game doesnt play even though witcher 3 and borderlands play clean. Granted I'm playing fifa 21 which isnt great as a game in the first place but i got it on sale so whatever.

Grabbed a fps on steam that I loved to play on my PlayStation and wanted to play with friends on pc. Lo and behold I have to download a launcher that I will only ever use on this one game, and not only that I get told that it can't run at the same time as ea's other fricken launcher. WHICH WASN'T RUNNING! And then idk if it's cause they don't know how to pull their head out their butts at ea, my password for the same way account has to separate passwords... just why
