Awful censorship even for moderates. I was saying HI on a yahoo article, just to test it out. It was rejected. Maga fascist comments were allowed though.
They killed the traffic on Yahoo comments. I won't say that it's political because it happens to everyone. Before OpenWeb, the Yahoo stories could get a thousand comments. Now, they are lucky to get a handful. You can only give a Big Brother is watching your neutral reply to anything or your comment vanishes. Nobody wants to read that.
No matter what I post, my comments are always rejected. I can post: "Great article," and the comment is rejected and I'm told that I have violated "Community Standards," which I clearly have not. Additionally, every appeal is auto-rejected. Despite saying a moderator will be review my appeal, every appeal is rejected, no matter the content, within minutes. How is this NOT lying to people? How are companies allowed to tell you they do something, then NOT to that thing?
They push antisemitic, white supremacists and foreign terrorist threats. Someone can low key threaten to attack America, say something about Jewish folks or claim white supremacy without an issue.
Example claiming all black and jewish are uneducated is acceptable on openweb.
But replying at least you can admit that you're incapable of complex thought is not acceptable.
If you're an American and particularly Jewish, I would fear what openweb is doing to us
There is no appeals process with Yahoo's Openweb forum. It seems like the AI can misinterpret a single word in a comment and reject it with no appeal. In one instance in an article about breast cancer the word breast was apparently a trigger despite the author of the article using it. Very often the author's words cannot be used in the comment without rejection. The following is an example of being rejected:
"I had property up near Boone where we planned to retire but to be honest the more we explored the area the less we wanted to stay. The church to common sense ratio was just too high for us. My grandparents were Baptists but its too much like indoctrination to keep people dumb now. While I love the Raleigh area (some of my favorite places are there). I can't balance the Angus Barn, Top of the Hill, and Morehead Planetarium with the rest of the state. In some ways the change to Fort Bragg was the final straw for me. I lost too many friends there to ever call it something else. To me it was never about some general no one paid attention to, it was about the fact that the troops there made it what it was - something too many people overlooked in their rush to...whatever they call it now when you put a new suit on an old pig.
Nothing offense just a statement of facts of why I sold my land in North Carolina. Yet, rejected with no explanation, no appeals process.
The OpenWeb platform is crap. It freezes, unfreezes, then freezes again. When clicking on a reply to one of my comments, the comment is only briefly displayed, before it vanishes in the list and often never to be found again. The browser will often throw an error, when OpenWeb sh.its its pants. It sucks donkey balls and makes every site worse that it touches. The over-the-top censorship is another issue.
OpenWeb is a commenting system used by Yahoo News. Yahoo news largely leans right, politically, and the OpenWeb AI comment filtering system amplified rightwing commentary and restricts comments that challenge these ideas too strong. A shovel is a shovel in the real world. In OpenWeb's world, the shovel COULD BE considered offensive so you must refer to it as a garden implement. This censors the true meaning of your comment. People no longer are certain you are talking about a shovel. And when this is about political ideas it becomes very difficult to get a comment posted saying anything real without it getting rejected. I included a screenshot of what was an already sanitized comment about gangsta rap because I was so incredulous that it was unacceptable. And it doesn't improve the commentary. Yahoo News is very racist and it's amazing Yahoo execs want to be associated with it. [I did not purchase anything]
I commented on an post, including a link to a news article that ran contrary to what the post was saying. I included no words of my own. Just a link, pointing to a clear example of obvious, undeniable counterevidence, trying to be a bit humorous. The post was taken down for "violating community guidelindes". It was a link to a news article, I included no words of my own, zero editorialization, but it was rejected. Furthermore, there is no recourse once you've been 'rejected'. No appeal process, no ability to talk to a person. Abysmal product and site, unwilling to do even the bear minimum. Absolutely pathetic from OpenWeb.
OpenWeb has 'shadow-banned' me on FoxNews. No explaintion, no recourse, no replies from OpenWeb feedback, nothing but silence.
What a sleazy practice of censorship by OpenWeb, and FoxNews allows them to do it.
Spot IM is perhaps the best community interaction platform out there. I made the right choice and started using their plugins for my site and it has really helped wonders. My community is organically staying in my site instead of fluctuating around different sites like Facebook. It's easy to track comments and interactions. Overall, a must have.
This company and their forum platform sucks, Yahoo made a massive mistake by contracting with these inept morons who use AI to moderate posts, they suppress users and they leave, this AI moderation actually prevents posts, this is the worst forum platform ever. I have run national forums as an administrator for decades, so I know what I am talking about, they value spambots more than actual human posts, Open Web is Death Web.
My business was losing traffic abruptly, I just didn't know what else to do to help it stay a float. A friend of mine (who has a similar business) recommended me to use Spot.IM in my business. It was the best decision I've ever made, my business is starting to get more and more traffic and discussions & opinions debates have now created a community in my business. It really does spark community interaction! Highly recommended.
Spot IM creates active communities that truly bring in the best out of every publisher's sites. Building online communities is something that is proliferating in today's day and age and Spot IM manages to tackle the potential of your community by providing them with a platform to express their own opinions in your own site.
I'm proud to say that I have been a member of the Spot.IM community for more than 4 months now and I couldn't be happier. My experience with this community has been truly exceptional and everyday is getting bigger and bigger. If you are someone who is looking to increase traffic and spark things off your website, this is it! If you need credibility of this service, just enter their website and you will see that these people are working with top companies such as HuffPost, NBC, AOL, Refinery, Fox News and many many other respectable companies. Fully recommended!
You can see a real review on this rumble video, at about 15 mins in: https://rumble.com/vm6yi3-openweb-blows-chunks-and-more.html
In sum, they tormented them over every comment, they responded each time, and then they used a third party to decide to get rid of them. So if you are a loyal customer, they'll get rid of you when it suits their leftist agenda.
Also there is a lying review here that they don't allow "criticism" of Israel. They are leftists, they are day and night supporting anyone against Israel. Straight out Nazi conspiracies they ban, gives them credibility to ban normal people, but real supporters of Israel are consistently banned, don't write "Rav Kahane was right" on their platform if you want to be there.
I don't go out of my way to review things, but since I can't comment this on the Daily Wire website, because OpenWeb will just delete me, rating the website here is basically my only option to say anything about it publicly.
This company has been censoring and shadowbanning the internet since it used to be called Spot.IM.
They pay and bully companies to delete legitimate negative reviews.
Trivial words and phrases are censored, you may not speak ill about Israel as a country because Openweb has to follow Israeli law, and they will lie about you being shadowbanned if you contact their support.
Uses an atrocious and unforgiving AI to censor any, and every, frivolous thing with no manner of reverse or disputing. Will actively shadow ban anyone pointing out their censorship.
Can't reply since I don't have an address for this company. Does anyone have the mailing address and phone number of OpenWeb?
If you criticize the Russian war crimes and use the word "damn" they kill your comment. Who runs this group? Putin? His lackeys like Diaper Don?
So much for freedom of speech. These so-called moderators for AOL are nothing more than liberal, can't handle the truth, hypocrites. Other commentators use foul language and their remarks are published, but mine doesn't, actually states facts, and they don't like, and thus reject it. The one they rejected of mine, was about the FACT that we paid for our children to go to college, only to discover that they felt threatened by their teachers, that if they didn't go along with their line of thinking, that they might not pass that teachers class. Of course they told us and didn't believe the garbage they were being taught, and WE, THE PARENTS, WERE PAYING FOR IT. So just know that the liberals have been infiltrating and dumbing down society for decades now, in an attempt to change it to some kind of society of know nothing idiots, that are puppets for so-called 'Leaders' to use for their own personal gains.
Answer: It is next to impossible. Their 'rating' is abysmal...and they practice 'shadow-banning'.
