Been here often, and normally have a great time. Recently the techs were not all that welcoming. I wonder if its the traveling techs that made me feel at home. Because when they left, so did the kindness and welcoming feeling.
Makes me think of the ani DiFranco lyrics, " maybe you don't like your job, maybe you didn't enough sleep. Well, nobody likes their job, nobody got enough sleep. Maybe you just had the worst day of your life. But, you know there's no escape and no excuse, so just suck up, suck up and be nice"
I mean, I don't want a grump sticking me with a needle. That doesn't seem all that ridiculous of a thought.
Edit: after posting this review, I went back and my vein was perforated along with the 2 other people who were stuck right before me. I couldn't go back for 2 weeks because of the bruises. This is what I mean, with 3 bad sticks in a row by the same person, it shows either a lack of management, care, or skill.
What is happening at this location? Where is the oversight? Where is the care? Can they bring back the traveling phlebotomists? Because something is happening with the permanent phliblotomists. From refusing to change gloves, to yelling at clients and harming them. I have to come back, because I NEED the money, but I am terrified.
Clean, friendly place with nice and courteous staff. Would recommend to anyone wanting to donate try here 1st.
Go to biomat or BioLife or CSL friendly staff they pay more and don't check or protein every 3 times you come in give it a try
I've been donating for years here. I came in today at the Terre Haute, Indiana location. Everything began as normal. Then there was a high pressure alarm I'd never seen. The attendant tried adjusting the needle, blood spattered on both of us but it began flowing again. Then a second time. This time she couldnt get it resolved. Second, senior attendant came over to adjust the needle and actually made it worse, so bad that I was in immediate pain. She simply taped it back in place, told the other attendant to switch arms and just left me there in pain. First attendant stuck second arm and things began moving again. Half way through I get a no flow alarm. The attendant tries to resolve, unsuccessfully. She asks for help from second, senior attendant to no avail. Eventually this evolves to another high pressure alarm. First again asks second for help. Second makes no effort to come over and instead tells her that's it, to stop and give me saline and I'm finished. First has issues with equipment and asked for direction. Second yells something from across the room. It doesn't work. Finally first crips my line, blood still in the line and without me receiving any saline, removes the needle and wraps me up. They tell me to drink a gallon of water the night before next time, as if this were entirely my fault. Second then proceeds to direct first to only give me half pay.
In all my time donating, I've never had an issue like this, but I've also never had a service issue like this either. My left arm is wrecked. It feels like second went in and through my vein. There was tremendous pain involved today that no one attempted to even apologize for or immediately resolve. I had blood all over both arms. My right arm is now bandaged up as well. Either the equipment malfunctioned or there was operator error involved to where I didn't even receive saline back into my system. Then they imply basically that this entire thing is my fault. All this in addition to my time, and my compensation is now being docked by 50%. I don't think this is okay. Particularly as loyal as I have been to this company.
Donors should never be made to feel this way when it's their body they're giving up.
How to plasma have very good workers they just in and out quick as possible one of the best plasma centers I ever been to
Second time driving out to find they are closed. I tried all 5 options available on phone but couldn't get a human to answer.
I love donating at octoplasma not only am I getting paid but helping others as well they are very welcoming and friendly.
I love octapharma an Rachel is the best great personality. They are always helpful an very fast when coming to service.
Why doesn't this center get it together?I understand they're kinda new but doing a better job should be easy to do. This center did a upgrade so I can't do my questions on my app I went in and the man there told me they had done some upgrade and in my age group was having issues so supposedly he fix it but I had to do my questions there which is so frustrating. I was suppose to now be able to do them on my phone but NO STILL CAN'T. I called to get help so I could visit this center today git a guy who clearly doesn't want to help all he can say instead of HELPING IS "MAYBE THERE'S A SOFT HOLD ON YOUR ACCOUNT " tried to explain no it was at their end but repeated the same thing. Why is this place so unorganized and not giving customer service? I'd be fired if I treated people that way. No one there seems to care. Last visit the only girl checking us in wore the SAME GLOVES WITH MORE THAN 4 DONATORS. That is so nasty and unsafe do they not have gloves do they not care if they are just passing on germs or who knows what to donators? This place is not performing good I'm sure I will be blackmail but really it's donators like me that gives them their paycheck
I'm terrified of needles but the staff there is very freindly and professional. They make it easy and painless.
