You better watch your subscription because Noom has a horrible policy. If you're in the initial phase, you can get a refund after 14 days. If you're like me and stopped using the program, forget to see the renewal email, and get get charged $180.83 for another 6 months, they're going to say tough luck. It's a terrible policy and I'm very unhappy.
I reached out to Noom 4 times trying to sign up for a full year. No one has helped me at all. So glad I did not get signed up. Even gave my phone number and they have my email. Responses are so incompetent. Don't waste your money. This company is a JOKE!
I originally subscribed to the app last year but found it did not work for me and deleted it. I was unaware that it would automatically renew and was surprised to see a $150+ charge on my credit card with no warning. I immediately canceled my subscription and requested a refund but was told via email I was "no longer eligible." I pushed back once more and magically received a refund, which I appreciated. However, the way the company handled the situation left a negative impression. The automatic renewal policy is shady and not in line with industry standards. The company's recent $62M class action suit settlement over similar issues also raises concerns about its business practices.
Do not do a trial of this product. If I could give it zero stars I could. It claims to have a 14 day trial where in you can cancel. I cancelled but they claim it was not received. Now I find that I've been billed several times for this service, without recourse to be reimbursed. This is the kind of customer service that gives free trial programs a bad name.
I started noom in November, 2022 and have loved it! I don't mind the overall price considering it includes an app where I am able to log my meals while the app calculates my calories for me, log my weight, learn new recipes, and best of all… learn so much about my eating habits and what I can do to work toward changing them for 8 months! The only piece I've had a bit of a difficult time with is the cost of the Behavior Coach. Unfortunately, the cost of the behavior coach is monthly and pricey but my Behavior Coach has been super motivating, and helps keep me on track with my individual goals. Therefore, I have decided it's worth the money in order to feel better about myself and work towards making healthier choices. Noom has helped me to lose weight and have more confidence in myself while other programs only ended up making me feel like a failure. Noom is based off research and everything is written by psychologists and it has never made me feel guilty for making choices that aren't as healthy, it just helps me to stay on track and remember that I am human and it's ok to have foods that aren't as healthy sometimes too. I have referred a number of friends and family to noom already!
I started this app on a 14-day trial basis. When I started I weighed 265 lb this was September of 2021. I thought I never would lose weight and then I found this app this little program called noom
It changed my life it changed how I saw myself it made me realize what I needed to do to get healthy it helped me to eat better to live better I'm healthier now at 54 then I was when I was 25 I've always been big but now I glad to say that I weigh 150 lb. Thank you cannot express how I feel about this program and about my counselor that I had how she helped me through and all the people in the group that they put me in how they help me. This app and this program changed my life for the better I have osteoarthritis and I have rickets. It helped with the pain I didn't lose all the pain that I thought I would because it is a chronic disease but I can manage it better now but I've lost the weight it's a lifestyle change and it's one that you can maintain it's one that I've learned to maintain easily I still log my food everyday and keep up with my calories and I maintain a healthy weight and I eat healthier and life is better thanks to this program. God bless each and everyone who come up with this idea because it really does help people it help me this is my story this is true.
I was a bit skeptical at first but hey why not. I wasted my money on Nutrisystem & GOLO and this plan is at least more reasonable then the last two I tried plus 2 weeks free how could I resist that. I sign up for two weeks. Found recording my food no problem I'm already used to that. I found out I was eating too many orange category foods. Next I went to my online grocery store and Google foods I loved. Most were yellow but not to many green. So I made a few adjustments bought less density foods and had to drop foods I was eating in the orange category and found alternatives like my yogurt for example was in the orange category but found a similar yogurt in a green category. It was the same brand but in green category when comparing it in the Noom app. Its great you compare your foods in the app with your shopping list before shopping so it makes shopping easier. Your not buying foods then getting home and seeing they are not in the category you expect. The two week free was enough for me to get used to the program so I didn't feel like I needed to continue on the paid program so I cancelled my subscription which by the way I had no problem doing. I have been on the program since June 25th and have lost 6 lbs so far which is good because my activity is minimal. I need knee surgery so I can't walk as well as normal people but I try as much as I can. So far I am happy with my results. Just stick with it and get used to the program and make the adjustments so you eat less dense (green) foods and minimal dense (yellow) foods and you will do just fine. I still eat olives and have my peanut butter & banana sandwiches (orange) category but not everyday of course. I eat more balanced now and enjoying the challenge.
I think overall Noom did some things well and some things didn't work for me.
I think the main thing Noom is good at is both incorporating compelling content into short snippets throughout the day, which included some helpful tips, at least one of which I am still doing (weighing myself every day). I thought the app was easy to use and very user friendly, and I suspect the accountability option - and having a human being check in on you (even if it felt a little automated) could be useful.
However, I didn't feel like it was actually the most helpful in action. Logging food felt pretty clunky compared to my past experience using MyFitnessPal.com, and it just didn't seem to be based around a lot of nutrition science in a way that I would like.
Do not waste your time answering the many questions asked by Noom. They offer a free trial but won't allow start up without trying to bill you for extra fees. $139 was the start then an extra $67 and would allow me to go forward. I ended up cancelling before ever trying it! Disgusting way to come ct business!
Joined noom and was very enthusiastic, fell off the plan only to be contacted by a "noom bot" not very helpful at all. I was tiered of the plan after 3 months, requested a refund and was denied, customer service will not have anyone contact me, I still had no "real coach" and a "noom bot" telling me "great job coming back" don't waste your money get a trainer and a real person that cares. Other than purchasing the stock stay away...
Check all the other reviews here. This company is run like a scam. They tell you you'll only pay for 6 months with the right to renew. I decided not to renew because A) the program doesn't work. B) it's expensive. C) the approach is corny and non-effective. So... Noom charges my account for another 6 months automatically, $168.54. I called immediately and the rep said too bad, no refund. I threatened a bad review and it didn't matter. After badgering them I received my refund.
Haven't used the system in six months. Was not notified that a renewal was coming up. Called on the same day it hit my credit card and they wouldn't refund. This is one of THOSE companies who reel you in and that treat you like crap!
Lots of promises, lots of assurances that the bad app was fixed. Lots of tech problems. No way to contact tech support directly without going through a Byzantine maze. Promises one-on-one coaching but the coaches change willy-nilly. One of my coaches said her name was X when actually it was another name completely. Coaches disappear for weeks on end. The only time they pay attention is when you resign. I was given a gift certificate but can't get the person who gave it to me any sort of refund because it was a gift. Don't fall for it.
Worst customer service. They expect you to remember a year from when you signed up to cancel your subscription because god forbid you forget they will charge your card WITH NO WARNING! And refuse to refund your money. The program is not worth the amount of money. If I could get negative reviews I would. Never again
I signed up for Noom. From the beginning they had overcharged me, even though I purchased a special they were running. When my bill came in, it was overcharged. It took me numerous times to get them to fix it. And then I went into a subscription where they kept charging me. My app froze throughout the trial. Period. I had to call repeatedly for tech help. The only advice they gave me was to cancel my app and re-download it to see if that would fix their glitch. I would never get involved with a company that does not stand behind their product and then when they mistakenly charge you for subscriptions--- They then refuse to give any sort of credit. The customer service reps were from another a country, so it was very hard to understand their accents but clearly they are trained to tell you "no credit- no returns!" Money making machine!
They don't cancel your subscription when you request it. They won't refund your money even if you call on the day of the charges hitting your card. They continue to charge you long after you cancel and you have to fight them through your bank. They are quite smug about it on the phone.
They will send an email 24 hours before they renew your service and then charge you for a full year if you don't cancel within 24 hours. For me that email came on Thanksgiving when no one checks their email. They charged me for another full year despite me not using the service and when I called the day after my card was charged they refused to give me even a partial refund. This is a scam
I signed up for a Noom subscription and followed it to a "T" for 5 weeks. I made the decision to join after reading positive reviews on their site and fell prey to their empty promises of being able to help even those with issues such as age and menopause. I didn't lose any weight and started getting depressed. I reached out to Noom customer service and asked for a partial refund for the duration of my subscription. I got a 'canned' response stating their return policy. I asked to speak to a supervisor to reconsider my request and got another 'canned' response. I reached out one more time asking if the 'person' who replied to me was authorized to make decisions on refunds after their 14-day policy and yet again, did not receive an actual answer as to whether or not I was speaking to a supervisor and got the 'canned' response about how very sorry they were but could do nothing. Noom may work for some, but not for me. My recommendation is to review their policy very carefully before committing to a subscription.
Identical review as Laurie. I joined in Nov of 2021 and prepaid 1 yr. After 6 months I stopped using their app as I felt it was not working for me. About a week ago I noticed a charge for $150+ on my paypal acct. I called Noom immediately and they refused to refund my acct. They claim that I had agreed to this renewal automatic from first signing Up, which is bogus. This is a scam...I will never use this app or recommend. I saw the BBB has thousands of complaints against them. Please do your own research before joining
I gave my cc and was charged twice for same person, same date, same email & same cc.
The app didn't work for me at all. Literally, it didn't work.
I emailed them I believe 7 times and nobody ever called back. All 7 times.
I just called them now and they said the charges were outside of refund policy. I explained they charged me twice - I didn't matter. I explained that their app never actually worked and were were unable to use it for even 1 second - I didn't matter.
VERY DISHONEST! Do NOT give your cc to these scammers!
Answer: (800) 910-7375 is the phone number listed on the BBB website for NOON. It's a recording directing you to their website. I emailed the company to cancel (my trial). They responded in less than an hour and canceled/credited the charge. Can't complain about that.
The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily surrounding its billing practices and customer service. Many users express frustration over unexpected charges, auto-renewal policies, and difficulty in obtaining refunds, indicating a lack of transparency and support. While some customers appreciate the app's user-friendly interface and helpful content, these positives are overshadowed by complaints about inadequate personal interaction and the perception of being misled into subscriptions. Overall, the feedback suggests a pressing need for the company to improve customer communication and address its billing practices to enhance trust and satisfaction.
