I am a previously satisfied customer, but became disgusted today when I tried to PURCHASE the updated Quicken WillMaker 2022 thru an email I received from the company. After spending well over an hour online trying to update and take advantage of their emailed offer, I finally got in contact with a Rep, James. He was no help at all, and told me the coupon had expired. Sure enough, in the fine print at the end of the email, the special offer only lasted 13 days, and there was no link to purchase the product with or without the coupon. Waste of time - good bye Nolo after many years. There are other companies. MEM

THIS TYPE OF FALSE INFORMATION IS MISLEADING/ DAMAGING AND IT IS LEGAL LIES THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL LAWS IN MONTANA ****BEWARE OF FALSE INFORMATION SEE ON THIS SITE.***** ITS ON DIVORCE NET PUBLISHED BY NOLO
Nolo probably makes a bundle on selling legal documents that cost them basically nothing. But for the rest of us, Nolo can save you a huge amount of money over paying for an expensive attorney. I'm not saying you shouldn't use an attorney. You should when you need it. But if you're doing basically estate planning stuff, like getting the documents for a basic will, or doing probate stuff. I'd read the Nolo books first before paying for an expensive estate planning attorney.
This is a useless organization offering nothing for your good money. You spend time contacting the leads, they don't respond, have a matter settled a long time ago, or have given a fake telephone number. The potential client isn't served, and you aren't served while NOLO counts your money. Don't do it!
Avoid the NOLO rip-off.
This website is a ruse to get your name and phone number and then they distribute it to ALL kinds of companies, including scammers with suspicious intentions. I had "law firms" call me from phone numbers that were masked. They would say they needed a little information from me, and they would ask me for my maiden name, my birthdate and my SSN! I know better than giving these out to just anyone over the phone. But it has been a nightmare to get rid of these phone calls. I tried contacting NOLO and found out it is IMPOSSIBLE. There is not a phone number you can call. And the webform to send feedback requires an order number! Since I did not order anything, I can't contact them. I spent large amounts of time on their website clicking back and forth to try to find a way to contact them, any way. There is none!
Please stay away. It is a nightmare i cant seem to get rid of.
I had a decent experience until Grant Eastman took over my account. He is considered a manager, but his real job is to send me bad leads and refuse to credit me for scammy leads. The number of leads that are junk and are no contact is way too high. I use a few companies for leads and this is by far the worst. I would stay away from this company and stay away from Grant Eastman.
What ever you do, don't even think about using live chat on their site. It's a robot survey disguised as chat to get your contact information and offer no live assistance. Then good luck trying to talk to someone in customer service to request they not spam you with product emails. STAY AWAY FROM NOLO.
I purchased their Quicken WillMaster Plus 2014 software to make a will. Once downloaded, the only option was to create a living trust. I don't want a living trust. I spent 30 minutes on their site trying to find the will form only to discover that the form for a will costs an additional $34.95. Rip off.
I purchased 'How to File Chapter 7 Bankruptcy' which recommends recording a Declaration of Homestead which is not in the book. Called Nolo 4 times today to ask for the form and no matter which button I pushed I kept getting the same customer service rep who said there was no one else to talk to and I could get a refund for the book. Really?
I purchased the living trust software. Honestly it is a waste of money. There is no editing function allowing the user to change obvious flaws. For example, the name of the trust is pre-filled to be the full legal names of the grantors. No trust is named this way because the length of the trust is ridiculously long. A high schooler could have designed a better product.
I will not go so far as to say that all leads from NOLO are bunk, but numbers do not lie. The reporting system from NOLO is limited in that you can only pull a report from the current month to 11 months before. The report option states, "Last Year", but you cannot pull a report from January 1,2021, to December 31,2021. Not possible. So, from September 5,2021, to September 5 received 227 leads, and we signed 10 people, which is less than a 5% conversion rate. We spent $19,360.00 to buy the leads. Take into consideration the overhead to contact all the leads and submit the requests for credit (most get rejected) which I will estimate to be 22.7 hours@ a cost of about $5,000.00, totaling $19,860.00 to get and manage the leads. The 10 conversions brought about $20,000.00 to the firm, subtracting $19,860.00, and the gross income is $640.00 from leads for an entire year. The low conversion rate is because the leads are not within our geographical area, not in our area of practice, and are not looking for a lawyer but simply filling out a form on the internet to get questions. Do the math for your firm. We gave them time to get ramped up after the COVID shutdown, but the Return on Investment is not there. The numbers do not lie. The other issue I have with them is that they do not care about their customers. You will get a song and dance about their commitment to your business when you sign up. That is such hogwash. Try to get someone on the phone once you sign up with them. Good luck!
As a product that is branded with Nolo and Martindale (two names that I have come to trust over the years of practice), I am disgusted that this service does not do a better job of providing links and referrals that are worth your time to call. While they are "verified leads" supposedly, a large number of the ones I get are in my geographic area because of the address of the PNC, but because the client did not list or does not tell the lead generation company that they are actually needing help in another county or state, they will not credit you for a lead that you cannot take without PROOF that the person does not have a case in your area. They do not trust their attorney clients at all. Personally, I find it impossible to get clients to send you an email or text saying, "My case is in X jurisdiction" in order to get a credit. DO NOT use these guys.
Im a senior citizen who contacted Nolo Legal Network to find a lawyer for a fellow Senior Citizen. Today I receive an email from Nolo which they forwarded thru another website called Disbility Secrets.com. I never contacted Nolo for a Social Security Lawyer. The phone number on the email goes directly to the Philipines to people who do not have a clue. This is a huge SCAM. Do not trust Nolo if your are a Lawyer or a Consumer. Do not give personal information to anyone overseas period.
Every attorney that they referred me too were about as helpful as chickens with their heads cut off regarding my case... and I do have a legitimate case. Thanks for nothing!
We purchased the 2020 version for $99 and it is worthless. The ebooks are so general in nature that a Google search would give you more in depth information. Save your money and avoid NOLO.
Im very happy with this shop, everything is cheap (are imitations) but the quality is enough for the price. Good place if you wanna get some football jerseys.
Per the Nolo advisory team, I hired Ted Taggart as my bankruptcy attorney in March of 2014 and have not received the services I paid for as to this day (two years later). Ted was very eager to engage me in beginning the bankruptcy procedure and accepted my full payment of $1,500 for court fees, etc. However, when I attempted to elicit advice from him or asked him when we go forward with the actual bankruptcy, he avoided my communications. There was an incident where I received a summons to go to court over a credit card debt and attempted again to elicit Teds advice and help with the matter (being that he was my attorney and I had paid him in full already), but I again received no advice or help and ended up paying the debt because I was afraid of the repercussions. I am sorely disappointed in Teds lack of care for his profession and his clients. I would definitely advise anyone seeking a bankruptcy attorney to avoid Ted Taggart altogether. He is unprofessional and may potentially take your money without rendering services.
I HAVE TRIED TO USE THEM FOR LEADS, THE LEADS COME IN, I GET CHARGED YET I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO THE LEAD INFO ON MY DASHBOARD TO REQUEST CREDITS IF APPROPRIATE. IT USED TO RUN WELL, NOW ITS JUST A SCAM. YOU CANNOT GET ANYONE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE OR TECH SUPPORT ON THE PHONE AND YET THEY JUST KEEP CHARGING YOUR CREDIT CARD.
I think Nolo press is the best place to start for any legal dealing. I wrote my patent using Nolo Press and went to a Patent Lawyer to review and file it. It worked out!
I have unfortunately have gone through numerous real life lawyers who turned out to be absolutely awful. The last lawyer who I happened to respect and grateful for meeting told me 90% of lawyers out there do not know what they are doing. SO what value Nolo will bring is educating yourself first so that you are versed in what you are trying to deal with in legal arena. Questions to ask, what to watch out for... Nolo definitely does not replace a real human lawyer, but for basic things like incorporating, landlord tenant issues, etc. It is a great resource.
However, if you are going to litigation, still read and research as much as possible before you start interviewing lawyers. And you better have your intuition antenna out in full force when you do research and interview lawyers. Also do not trust a lot of rating system for lawyers unless they are negative. I have learned a painful way that you really need to read reviews on anyone/site before start engaging. Have in mind that some people are just plain negative which you can disregard, but you can ascertain the trend from site like this one!
You will save a lot of aggravation, money,
Nolo has a rating of 1.6 stars from 90 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nolo most frequently mention customer service, bad leads and phone number. Nolo ranks 72nd among Legal Documents sites.
