I gave them 1 star begrudgingly. Netflix Canada - which is like $25 a month now - is beyond bad. Most of the shows we get here are not in English - nor are they in French - they are dubbed versions of Indian, Asian, Turkish etc. The licensing issues are not the users concern - it is up to Netlix to work this out to offer a viable and desirable product to its subscribers. If they cannot offer that then they have nothing to sell. I am about ready to unsubscribe from Netflix and spend the money elsewhere on Prime, Amazon or whatever that will give me English-speaking content.
I've been a Netflix subscriber since it became available in Canada. It used to be a worthwhile service for a decent price but over time the price has risen well above the value of the service. New content is often just old content they've added back again, and they like to drop shows before they end and leave you hanging. But keep crap shows indefinitely. And now they've made it necessary for me to pay another $8 so my daughter, away at university, can watch. Time to find another streaming service
Everyday at lunch I eat then watch a bit of Netflix before heading back to work now they are blocking me from watching on my phone at work unless they extort more money may as well have cable as the only place to watch is at home
It's awesome.
Except for one, small thing.
I went to see the Hobbit the other day (New Years Day) and while the trailers for new movies were playing, one played called "Another Earth". Said it was Coming Soon.
Funny thing is, I've already watched it on Netflix.
With the new changes to the account and having to pay a "travelling" fee when I already pay for my account. I am high disappointed in Netflix. They already have it set, depending on the account you pay for, how many people can watch at the same time. It is upsetting that now people who share as a family, example college students have to pay extra to use the account while they are away at school.
Unlike the US version the Canadian version offers less movie options... I don't really understand why? I tried searching for movies in the NETFLIX database concurrently with a US resident and found out that 90% of my particular movie searches were not found in the. Ca version but available in the. Com version... Go figure...
I unsubscribed from the service for lack of content.
After switching to Netflix 2 years ago, I was sort of satisfied and used it regularly. Today, I opened my account and when I signed in, it said "ERROR" and a code. I texted the chat help and they couldn't help me and signed me out of the chat. I texted back requesting assistance and included the error messages and codes. Now, it was sending me back to the sign in page every time I chose a show. AGAIN, the helpline people were no help and emailed me 3 articles about error codes, all of which didn't work either.
This is so bad as it was working one day and not the next. Irritating and I deleted my account. Netflix said my account will delete after the billing term. Goody. I can't get into it soooooo...
Very poor movie choices in Canada. No old Westerns, no older movies, no European movies, just the junk that kids like to watch. Total waste of good money.
Don't get it, save your money.
Cant think of anything else to do when i get bored! Not sure what my life would have been if there was no netflix
