I joined NACA in July 2021. My first Workshop was 7/30/21. My Intake session isn't until November (I know right?!). Actually, that is kind of quick considering I've heard members appointments are much further out. I do believe it depends on how you initially set up your appointment and location. Schedule online or via telephone (which I personally think gives you a sooner appt). Anyhow, in the uploading stage... which is a DOOZY. I mean, they want to know your monthly budget from current rent down to how much gum you purchase monthly lol. The only Review I have at this point is PATIENCE IS NEEDED. If you are in a rush to purchase this process probably isn't for you. Everyone's process is different and depending on your city, you might not have the best experience with Mortgage Counselors due to lack of staffing. Even in this stage of the process, for me... NACA is the best.
My dream of homeownership began on February 26,2022. It has been a delightful journey which has put me on the path of being a homeowner. Fast forward to May 03, being NACA Qualified. My dreams are coming to pass and I have The Dream Builders to thank, the NACA program. Tomorrow I will sit down with Clayton Homes to decide which home best suits me. Thank you NACA team for recognizing my ability to become a homeowner. I have recommended this program to 5 family members and I'm not not done yet. It is everyone's desire to become a homeowner, this way a family can afford to have a home. No down payment, closing cost, no fees, and below market fixed rate. Finally a program that cares about you as a person, individual, and as a family. I love NACA.

This process is truly not one for the weak staying up on all documents is a must just do it and it'll pay off. You'll get out of this what you put into it.

It has been a great experience so far. I started my NACA journey on July 29,2023 when I attended the Home Buyers Workshop. Since then I have been gathering my documents so that I can upload them in my file. I have my appointment with my counselor Noell Berman October 9,2023. I'm really looking forward to this!
I first heard of NACA in 2015 after retiring from the Army. I was looking for the best fit for me in the home buying process and, being retired military, my options were open. I looked at VA Loans from a number of lenders as well as first time home buyer programs before I went into a NACA orientation. NACA required discipline and unfortunately at the time and on my part, I was not ready. Now here I am nearly 6 years later focused and on track to become NACA Qualified. The process has been exactly what my counselor said it would be, "it's on me." She has been understanding yet firm with letting me know what areas I need to put more effort into. She's never late to a call, she doesn't rush through, and she allows me time to answer and ask questions. 5 Stars, I will post more as I complete the homebuying process.
We are still in the process of getting approved. But at the end of it we have been working with a counselor since February of 2022. It is a lengthy process. But well worth the money you will save on purchasing a home. I think it is a great program, I look forward to purchasing pictures of our new home. I like the I deal of having someone to walk and explain the unknow of purchasing a home. They will make sure you have all you need to buy. However, know that you will need patience, and held accountable for producing the work of submitting documents. If you are not serious, naca is not for you.

I think NACA has been very helpful, in walking me through the first-time buyer process. My counselor has guided me through the process and understanding what the banks qualifications they are looking to approve. We are at the end of the process and I am so pleased to see my purchase of a home come true.

It is a program that is helping family. Gives assurance, its pleasing to know not to have down payment and other costs. The staff are very help full, patient, well informed, and knowledgeable.
I am just starting the NACA process, uploaded the requested documents and was given a counseling appointment date and time. The appointment was a few months out, though. I didn't know what to expect and was a little nervous initially. Happily my appointment went smoothly and it didn't take that long. I do have a few "action" items that I need to correct/ add. My next appointment is 1/26/2023. My Counselor made the process easy and smooth. (I'm not sure if I can mention her name; I will check first). I will be back after 1/26/2023 to post the next review. Trust the process!

Went through the process and got to the very end of the qualifications then never heard back from my counselor. I had even had to reach out to her manager just to get her to respond. I got a FHA loan with the same interest rate. FYI, it's been 4 months and still no response. I wouldn't recommend NACA unless you want to go through a very long and tedious process just to be ignored.

I wasn't aware that there was a program like NACA, being former homeowner I was able to get all the incentives when purchasing my first home, so giving up my home to my ex-husband in our divorce buying a home again I knew was going to be challenging. However, attending one of the NACCA workshops I found this not to be true. The workshop was very informative and the benefits that NACCA has to offer has given me another chance in purchasing a home. I am excited! And looking forward to the journey.

I want to say thank you to NACA my first appt. With my counselor preparing for my future, She was very pleasant, detailed, specific, and honest. Together we came up with a action plan. My local NACA office is located in Richmond, VA.
Currently in the process of purchasing first home and the NACA program has been very helpful in getting me ready for home ownership. I enjoy working closely with my counselor and I am excited for getting into my new home.
I heard about the NACA program from a coworker, and I must say I was very curious. I attended workshop, and was provided really good information about the program. I had my first meeting with my counselor Ms. Kim who is very sweet and helpful. So far so good. The process can be long, however very worth it. NACA is the best first time buyer program there is.

Answer: I decided to go with NACA because they don't consider your credit score and the counselors work with you to become qualified. NACA has made me more diligent with saving money by not spending on wants but needs. This method has strengthen my assets considerably.
