I had AutoPay setup for my payments and it randomly failed to pull a payment (for no discernible reason) so my policy NEARLY CANCELLED on me. Instead of calling me to immediately notify of this problem, they sent a snail mail letter to notify of this. So many headaches from this company. Really sketchy with the failed payment (no reason for it), because my other autopays worked the whole time. Charged me a late fee for the failed autopay payment. Really sketchy.
This insurance company is the worst DO NOT get insurance with them they will get your money and cancel your policy
This has to be the sh*test insurance out there. They claim to have an online policy for cheaper prices. They make it extremely hard to share an documents with your auto dealer. They won't fax anything. Metlife is a big pile of garage and so is their third world customer service. Don't get their insurance!
This coverage is awful. They will cancel your policy, no agent available, they say its cheap because its online based... you can do way better than these guys. Try esurance.

Same problem as all I have read. Made payments on time, got cancelled with no notice, cannot get customer service, tried all contact us ways, still no answer. This is either a scam company or very incompetent management.
Paid my policy with metlife then they say my policy is cancelled. Noone ever sent a reminder or a payment on a supposedly missed payment? Every month the policy was paid! They are shady! Said I owed 50 dollars for something past due and I could never find a missed payment! They took my money and immediately said my policy was cancelled. I called complained to no avail! Will never use this company again
They only talk to you on their portal, and they are never available. The prices are good BUT you really do get what you pay for, they are awful. I hate that you cannot talk on the phone and they cancelled my policy without ANY notice, and I had to make them reinstate it, someone should report them to the Insurance Commissioner in each state. They really are a terrible company.
My. Direct is the worse! I was told by a rep that I could double up on my policy payment. So my policy is due on the 15th of each month, so Oct I paid both payments on 10/20 and so I go to pay today and I have been advised that my policy have been cancelled since 11/9 and they go to tell me that my term is over i didnt get any noticifation and she tells i apologize & there still a lapse for that week? STAY AWAY. This is one of many issues... you can only pay online and if the system is down then you are out of luck.
I tried to renew the insurance on my vehicle and found it not only did it have a Salvage Title, but my insurance have been dropped since April. No notification of any sort, about the insurance - just a check reimbursement of overpayment. I have a court order that states my vehicle is not salvaged, and I never did any of the forms. My vehicle has never been repaired. The agent closed my case before State Farm denied my claim. I believe that when I reopened my claim, that's when the title was changed. Mass Mutual hasn't responded either. It started off pretty well until I was in this accident.
I had MetLife Mydirect and I wouldn't ever recommend it to anyone, ever! The ease of access on the website is despicable, at best and the website is ALWAYS down for some sort of maintenance on a daily basis. Cannot drop a vehicle on the policy and add another one. It's just too much of a pain to deal with, and they're not very competitive with their pricing. I switched carriers mainly because of the website, you'll rip your hair out trying to navigate through it and print policy documents (which I would be surprised if you can manage to even do this!)
I made a choice and I picked them due to losing my password I couldn't get in my account it has made my life hell I lost my phone couldn't pay my insurance they will not help me reinstate my insurance they left me alone with my problem with no care all compassion at all I have no help no hope
I've had numours issues accessing my policy online, i used to have reg. Metlife. And why on earth would the company close a line of business that is SOLEY handled online /s tech support early. I've called 7 times, i've had to have my account unlocked and reset that many times, they linked a reg. Metlife account and so it will rest my sec. Questions on its own or default them every time. I got into an accident and have had an issue updating my payment method and now i'm sitting here until tom. Stressed out because i do not know what status my policy is in because I CANNOT GET ACCESS... AGAIN! AND theres no help for my policy by anyone anywhere. It's not setting me up for hope during my claims process i'm about to go through. Why on earth wouldn't you have tech support at least until 7 pm for mydirect if its only accessible to the policy holders ON LINE. Can't even pay through an automated feed, at least the general at least has that. Heck the general has better customer service hours. After this yes my rates will go up but i'll be damned if i give you all a renewal penny i'd rather pay more elsewhere and be able to depend on the company i'm paying.
This companies website never ever works correctly. After you create an account a week later your log in information doesn't work. You are forced to call a number to reset your pass word that is only avaliable m-f 9-5 EST. There is no way to get your information or recover or change your password that they make you reset every week because even after you call them and reset the password your new password won't work the next time you use it. The website just sends you in circles and there is no other way to do anything without calling them. Worst website and customer service I have ever experienced. Will be cancelling and be moving on. This insurance company Definately the worst. There is not even an insurance verification number.
I am an auto dealer and I work with insurance companies everyday, this company is absolutely horrible! You cannot get a declaration page, you cannot get a person on the phone, it is a complete waste of money! I feel sorry for my customer because her loan is going to be turned down due to not being able to provide the declaration page with the lienholder listed! I have spent over 4 hours on the phone and still no results!
Metlife Auto & Home Insures has an online service MyDirect, this is the Worst service ever, nearly impossible to reach reach a customer service representative the phone or on thru online chat. I started the process to apply for insurance, during the e-sign process I noticed a statement that did not quite sit right with me, and I changed my mind and did not complete the signing process, yet withdrew money out of my account before the process was even complete, it took 35 - 45 minutes to reach a rep to request my money be put back into my account, they told me I had to complete the process and then call back and cancel, again took a good 30 - 40 minutes to reach a rep, they made me send snap shots to show the money was taken out of my account said it would be refunded in 2 business days. This was on the 16th by the 20th no refund, I called back another 20-30 minutes to reach a rep and was told oh yeah that was cancelled it takes 10 days from the date the policy went into affect, so it's scheduled to be refunded on the 27th. Granted this was done on the 16, they couldn't process my refund, but was able to send me a letter that I received on the 20th, stating we denied your request for coverage because your licence is revoked or suspended. "Liars" my licence has never been revoked or suspended, that should have been a refund check instead of a falsified letter, I cancelled the insurance before it even went into affect, I was not denied coverage.
If their cancellation and refund process is this horrible, I'd hate to be the one to have to file a claim for anything. Their Premiums might be cheap but you get what you pay for, cheap and low quality service. I changed my mind in the process and I've wasted countless days and hours just trying to get my money back, when the money should not have been taken out of my account until the process was complete. This is a Horrible company and I would not recommend them to anyone. There are way better companies out there to choose from.
Answer: They do not accept payments over the phone, everything is online, if you can access their screwed up system to get into your account. GOOD LUCK!
Answer: You can try to email them for your information. But I tried it one time and they told me my policy number didn't exist. You can try to call them, but I wish you luck!
