So I never really had an issue with the staff until I did. I notice a lot of complaints about Model Mayhem Mods and I can attest that it is very real.
Once you get on their radar it's over. I was a long time customer and have made many good friends via MM.
I got banned for this.
When I tried to ask why they accused me of having a fake account. I never had a fake account.
They are dishonest and manipulators.
Worst site ever... full of fake profiles, prostitution and homosexual paedophiles.
There was also an Islamic model who already did naked photos, so if you asked her to shoot nudes, she got angry because her religion didn't allow it... hilarious
The majority of the photographers listed have amateurish photos at best. I signed on as a model to do some unique projects with established, creative photographers, and so far i haven't found anyone even close to what i want. I had better luck cruising instagram. Nearly every job offered to me had no pay or some kind of weirdness to it, or both. I'm on the verge of deleting my profile; i've kept it because its a quick reference tool for when i want to show someone something i've worked on.
I was a member from the very beginning of Model Mayhem. Since it then over the past 10+ years it has gotten worse and worse. It's run by individual photographers who moderate who gets to use the site and who does not. They eliminate almost all new photographers unless they are buddies. My account has been closed and trying to sign up again is impossible. They claim to be protecting models from those who shoot nude content (unless it's them who is doing the photography of course). It's not a good place for models or photographers anymore.
Model Mayhem is a fraud. They claim to have over one million members. FALSE! They may have that many accounts, but many have not been active in over 8 to 10 years. When this is called to their attention, you are told that searches can be adjusted to any date of last activity. That does not change the fact that most of their membership accounts are dead links to models & photographers. Avoid this site unless you just want to waste your time.
I wish I could give ModelMayhem a zero.
I know that there are photographers on this site who take photos of valuable people who trust to quickly and the photographer is in no way to be trusted with the models safety and have the wrong motives for a photography shoot. To all the models and parents out there accompany your family member doing these photography shoots and put your guard up.
Basically other folks have said it all I'm just agreeing with them. The moderators turned hostile and wouldn't discuss anything. They cancelled my account without warning because I had a picture of a camera to let models know what I use.
This is the worst site to find Models. It's a horrible site period. Every month my account is downgraded for no reason. I have to go back in and reset up. They delete most of my photos each month when they do this. The site is so stupid when I try to send email to the help department it tells me my email on my account is invalid. Any email I try is invalid. The Models are very unreliable and slow to respond. In one 2 month period I had 3 no shows even though I had paid one. I ate over $800 in Studios that were wasted because of this.
In the middle of conducting business, and my site was "closed" with no access to previous contacts or deals that were in negotiation. No reply from them since the matter and no way to recover any of that data.
When Model Mayhem gets any aledged complaint from any one they will close your account without notice. You will get no opportunity to learn the details of the complaint and no opportunity to address the complaint. If you are already on model mayhem back up all contacts now. I research after the fact and found Model Mayhem has a F rating with the better business bureau. Save your reputations do not recommend a friend to Model Mayhem
Model Mayhem already has issues with old creeps asking girls to do more than they agreed to. But I am a woman who used the site for a brief period of time and realized something else that marks this company down. They also EMPLOY these old creeps to shut down accounts with the dumbest excuses you that you need to sign up again and pay them more. Not safe to use for modeling, and not safe for your business either. Waste of time and money.
Rady H Hewitt is a felon with a long criminal record, and one with multiple restraining orders against him, this is his way to try causing damage and trying to not get arrested for breaking his LEGAL order. He is a porn produces that lures women, pays them for naked shoots and then molest and rapes them... HE is the true criminal Not Bruce. Don't believe his pathetic lies
This website is using a picture of a half naked woman (not me) put under my FULL legal name to lure people to my profile and does NOT have a valid phone number or working online portal to contact any customer service. Other I have seen online having issues with connecting with agency. I tried switching my login email/password numerous times to delete my account to have zero ties with this terrible company but it does not let me login in after years of me being inactive on their system however my account is STILL there with photos of other naked women attached to my name.
Stay away from Model Mayhem
Nice website but completely lacking customer service and over sight. No phone numbers, direct emails, managers etc. If you want a refund or have a problem don't waste your time trying to resolve it. They just ignore everything while laughing in a bubble. I'm actually surprised the parent company doesn't get more involved.
The Biggest Failure. Internet Brand who owns Model Mayhem produces a Major Lie when you sign up for MM. It looks like there are thousands of Models, when in fact there is only a handful Current Models on MM. MM counts every account as CURRENT. Making it seem like there are Thousands and Thousands of Models…when there is no one. Old inactive accounts, Models who have not logged on in years …are all counted as CURRENT. So you see Internet Brands makes more Funds by Lying to Advertisers. Millions, but there is no one on MM. MM is run'd by Managers who are Failures. Stay very clear from Model Mayhem.
I had an account since 2016 and it was closed for no reason. I don't log in everyday but checked for messages at least once a month. They closed my account and refuse to open it without giving me a reason. I tried several times to contact them but they didn't respond. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!
He fondled numerous models in Arizona and felt no remorse when confronted. Offered alcohol, Adderol and pot to relax or up the ampage of shoots. He also said since we signed model releases, we could not complain, and would not allow chaperones into studio. Would ONLY shoot with those who would pose nude, as he said you needed to be comfortable "with his style". Peverted old man, MODELS stay away!
I Give a Minus Zero off the scale! I have been a photographer for over 30 years in film with models got awards for some images as was rejected as a Professional Photographer! No $#*! I am a Freelance like some of the models who take there own Cell Phone images for there site? I finally got enough digital model images to get a Real Site if you want to call it that not ONE DAM model has excepted a session why I want TFP and they all want Big $$$ for their work of a few years! I have experience and a degree in graphic design took college photography classes know how to light a subject, but that has nothing to do with this terrible site will take my site down soon and look into my own website, or another site! MM is bogus plus you have to pay for your level as a photographer and models do not?
This site is hilarious! It's like a Craigslist For Self - proclaimed "models" Who Submit for free, their own unprofessional taken photos. One quick glance, and any person with even half an eye for talent can see these "models" are on there because they were laughed right out the door of any reputable agency!
Others have written regarding the virtual police state that exists under the congenial surface of this photography website. It's even worse than the other reviewers imagine.
I created a profile on the site and began posting discussion threads concerning the site's internal practices. I took to task one of their so-called moderators who liked to brag of his powers to have people removed, and also liked to force models into positions where they would have to sleep with him.
As anticipated, that caused the focus to be on me, not the site's abusive practices. In the process, they revealed that they collect camera serial numbers for all images posted on the site and run the info against an "enemies list" database. If you post a picture taken with a camera used by someone they dislike, you're toast. And they seem to dislike a lot of people.
This is truly chilling. I agree with those who counsel staying away from ModelMayhem.com.
Answer: I'd look for updates on Ms. Cali Skye on a porn site... didn't see her on Model Mayhem...
Answer: Pretty much, same here... most of the folks I've met through Model Mayhem have been good to work with... 4/5 stars
Answer: ... ummmm... assume sour grapes and walk on by... or post your own testimony to counterbalance the inaccuracies... haters gonna hate...
Answer: It's a reasonable place to meet photographers... it is not a reasonable place to find fashion modeling work and agency representation... if you're looking to work as an art model, you will definitely have access to art photographers... yes, there are creeps - there are creeps in every walk of life... I like this site... it's been good for me, and I'm considering upgrading to a paid level...
Answer: Ok... near the upper right-hand corner of the screen, there is a longer dark gray rectangle... type the MM# in that blank and hit the enter key... Hope this helps!
Answer: Hi I would just search MM for location NYC and I think you can search based on blonde brunette etc and maybe height. I'm not sure because I don't search that way much. To find actual availability I'd pick some I like and message them to ask.
Answer: ... on each profile, there's an envelope icon... click on it, and it will open a message to that person...
Answer: Sounds dodgy to me... with only this info, I wouldn't do it...
Answer: This goes for both models and photographers. First, if the message you receive looks like it came from a Nigerian prince, just don't answer it. Next, compare the quality of images in their profile with the level of experience they are claiming in their bio. Next, actually contact the references listed on the profile page. Next, meet them in person for coffee. If no alarm bells are ringing, if nothing feels off, schedule a shoot. If something feels uncomfortable during a shoot, say so, and gauge what kind of response results. If anything feels iffy or wrong, more than merely uncomfortable, during the shoot, JUST LEAVE. To hell with the money, to hell with being "nice"... your safety comes first. Sure, there are consequences to doing this. There are consequences for every decision, ever. Make sure you're alive to deal with them.
