Its true
September 7, 2017

Yes, it can be a front for escort service 'models'; and the equivalent in 'Togs plus so many who are blatantly scofflaw on professionalism and legal rights. As a model I cringe on this Site as so many expect nudity and shoots other than fashion and mainstream talent need. It depends on where one is working, and on MM for; some states and cities are harder to deal with. I noticed OMP is the same way with even less reputable photographers and downright scary ones.

Most models won't show up for appointments and you stand to loose a lot money in the process.

Only go after models with a known body of work.

I had a roommate who was very hot looking but not tall enough to be a "classical" model. Her profile, and that of some of her friends, were posted on MM. She did occasional escort work which was sandwiched between trade show "modeling". Some of her other friends would go straight into fully nude modeling on porn sites. A friend of mine works for U.S. Customs and they screen girls coming in from Canada and elsewhere by examining their profiles on MM. These girls come in for 2-3 day jaunts to Vegas, alone, dressed not for gambling comfort but for entertaining, and make these trips every month or two. Its pretty obviousl when they're here for legit work vs. escorting. And then there are the usual creeps just trying to hookup by getting girls to drop their linen in their "Studios". Not saying there is not some legit work on MM, but there is a lot that is not and should be avoided.

MM portfolio website is a Global portfolio modeling site, with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Unfortunately, MM does not vet their subscribers. Anyone can join claiming to be a photographer there aren't any background checks done.
Many of MM photographers are nothing more than sexual predators preying on YOUNG and vulnerable aspiring models. These photographers are offering these young vulnerable women monetary compensation for what they call "photo shoots" These photo shoots usually takes place in hotel rooms, or an old warehouses, some of these so called photographer have been known to set up shoots at their homes, which shows the level of desperation. These pseudo photographers are doing nothing more than obtaining sexual pleasure viewing women's bodies behind a lens of a camera. These young women are risking their lives for what they see as a chance to become another "America's Top Model."Some of the MM photographers pretend to know the modeling business, and claim to be affiliated with some of our major magazine companies telling them how they could make these women famous.
There have been several young women who have disappeared, after setting out to meet photographers they hooked up with on MM. There has also been countless sexual, physical assaults and rapes which have taken place, many have not been reported, due to fear and the embarrassment of these victims.
I will say, that this doesn't describe all of the photographers on MM, there are a handful of legitimate Photographers on MM. But for the most part a great deal of them are nothing more than sexual predators, YOUNG and OLD trying to sexually exploit young women and, others are desperate men trying to hook up with vulnerable women.
Ladies, if you are aspiring to be a model go to a reputable modeling agency. Please think twice! Before risking your reputation, safety and your LIFE! With these so called photographers who are nothing short of sexual predators...

Can I give MM a ZERO?
April 30, 2017

A 100% Useless Site. Run'd by Zero Talent and You can expect Major Lies from Brian Diaz, Dean Johnson, and the IB (Internet Blunders) who Own MM. The Major Lie, that IB Internet Blunders INSIST on repeating is the number "ACTIVE MEMBERS" MM has. They will lie right to your face... saying there is over 1 million "ACTIVE MEMBERS" that is 100% a Lie. Less than 20,000 are active on MM... and 900,000 Plus Members are now flew the coup. IB (Internet Blunders) should be honest to the members and Advertisers on the actually "ACTIVE MEMBERS"

A Poorly Run Website... Get this... Internet Blunders who owns MM cannot release a new feature to MM... WITHOUT destroying an old feature. IT takes. The Crack Tech Team. Weeks, Months... to correct their mistakes... Or even own up... they destroyed MM. Internet Blunders have own MM and in that time... cannot release a new feature without slowing down, or destroying your own ability to post pictures, or even going from one page to another... without Internet Blunders Crack Tech Team preventing you to do so. Simple surfing MM... is impossible because, the Crack Dumb Cluck Team run'd by Brandi, (must be 10 years old and thin'd skinned) has no clue how to run a simplistic website. Brandi's main goal in life on MM is to LIE! If you thought Trump was a massive liar... Brandi, Dean Johnson and Brian Diaz make Trump look like Nixon. AVOID THIS WEBSITE. SAVE YOUR MONIES! Use Facebook.

I submitted the correct size and quality of pictures, bio and other necessary information needed. About three days after I was approved and paid the $10 monthly subscription, they removed all my pictures claiming they didn't think they were mine. I was livid because not only were the pictures taken by me, I also own the rights. For these degenerates to make an assumption and remove my photos and to take my money makes me question the integrity of this online business.
Although emailed them asking why they thought the pictures weren't mine, they never bothered to respond.
My conclusion is that they are just wanting to get a high number of subscribers on their site and so on so they can manipulate their taxes to the IRS.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE.

After asking why it was taking so long to get my profile approved they began hassling me about the quality of my pics before finally shutting the account. I changed ip addresses to reregister but when i cancelled a shoot with a weeks notice this psycho model (who's first words to me were 'i hate people') complained and they booted me again. Now i'm targeted and will never get on. They have incredibly cynical attitudes about everything, they bully and target and as i told one moderator 'not even the government treats people the way you do'. The problem is there is no credible alternative. They have all the power and have become like megalomaniacs. Until their monopoly is somehow at least diluted you can expect to eat crow from them. They're also located in a town in california where there are some qualty of life issues, which doesn't help their mood. I've never seen anything like this outfit on this scale.

Moderators at Model Mayhem have double standards on what they will allow. They seem to target certain photographers and models. Even when they are shown photos they have allowed that are far more inappropriate, they will not be objective. They have a bullying quality about them. There definitely is not a clear definition of what the rules are. Today I am accused of submitting a photo of a model holding his genitals. It was a lace curtain and the hem was visible. The photo was taken from the back. Even though they charge you for "extra services", they will not let you participate if they have targeted you. They also lie about your past " infractions " but will not show proof. I have downgraded my membership. I think MM is becoming obsolete.

The Mods are Nuts!
February 13, 2017

I try to contribute to the MM community by participating in their Picture of the Day contest.

The mods drive me absolutely bonkers with their inconsistent judgements.

They are constantly giving me grief about the photos I submit. There's nothing wrong with the pics, the mods just like to make trouble out of thin air.

I advise people not to bother with Model Mayhem whatsoever.

This site called Model Mayhem owned by IB. Internet Blunders... will 100% lie about how many Actual Members that use MM... if you believe the massive Lie... almost 1 million "Current Members" there is the massive Lie... when there is actually only around 40-50 thousand members. IB insists these inflated numbers to scam advertisers. Brian Diaz and Dean Johnson are the masters of BS spin... They are 100% liars and scammers... along with Brandi. The clueless blunder at IB. Overly Moderated by bs spinners who still cannot the lieing numbers. And why MM customers cannot upload pictures or profiles. Without the site crashing. IB the internet blunders... are the ones who after many years owning MM. Still cannot produce a new feature without destroying or creating new Bugs! IB must be one sorry place to work for. You have been warned. Brian Diaz and Brandi from IB and Dean Johnson are the main liars and are truly massive failures of life.

Disappointed
November 30, 2016

Here's the thing I've been wanting to model for long time I have have been searching for the right agencies for quite some some time I have no experience in modeling I have never modeled but given the opportunity I know I have what it takes but I do have a little attitude when it comes to rejection especially when I feel it isn't fair or I was given the proper chance like I feel today with Model Mayhem. I signed up today they said is sometimes takes days for a reply after you summit your profile all in the same day they declined my profile when I was completely honest about who I was and what I was seeking and my dream to be a model. I am not some ugly girl with big dreams I know I have what it takes to model. I am the right height I am in shape and I have the motivation I won't let this company discourage me especially when I seen few members profiles who didn't even look like models I don't need to have experience to be able to tell that much. I posted my best photos they wasn't professional photos but they were my they probably disliked it because they didn't fit their Requirements called them off as selfies regardless it was disrespectful because they were good photos of my full body and face. Not to mention Finding out online modeling mayhem is no different than sexy jobs.com but just stricter while people have gone missing or raped maybe its a good thing they declined me. I won't let this site stop me from goals anywhere I go I am asked if I am a model I am always mistaken as a model so i see that site isn't a the best fit for me...

I am a professional photographer, recruiter and agent. We discover new talent all the time. We started referring our amateur models to use this site to start networking until we started noticing a pattern. We started monitoring the friend requests, messages and job offers they received on a daily basis. They noticed it and closed our account because we can not monitor our models profiles from scammers and pervs. They received friend requests and offers from amateur photographers and some 'professionals' that only focus on male nudes. We also noticed after trying to keep our account active, the moderator himself had a profile and website. We google him and found... guess. Nudes and more nudes. This isnt ART. You are not pleasing or helping anyone other than yourself. How often are these poor victims models going to use these photos to land a job? Only in porn probably.
This site also has nude contests. Seriously? Check it out... it is not about ART and PHOTOGRAPHY. The guy with the biggest $#*! or girl with the biggest boobs will win. Regardless of how crappy the photo is.
This is not your site if you want to be taken seriously. They are not professionals and it is not ran by professionals either. Just a bunch of perverts helping other perverts. Straight and gay...

I agreed with a lot of reviewer on here, this whole site has been going downhill since 2011, they advertised there are more then 900,000 active users, which is a total blatant lie.The get a lot of girls who have no experience in any type of modeling ( I don't know if they are fake) to start a profile, but those profile would be active for a week, and they won't reply to your shoot request. Back when 2009-2011, there were a lot of active local groups, where you can choose to participate and networking, but all those groups are gone, Now there are a lot of A-hole admin who kept locking up the whole threads in forum, if you ever mention anything remotely related to religion and politics. These admin (unpaid?) are like communist police, they are the judge and executioner. They tell you they don't promote porn, but then a lot of female profiles said they shoot with Playboy and Penthouse, those are not porn mags? Their rules are so vague and ambiguous it's the worst paid memberships site I ever join in my entire internet life!

I was a member for a few years before they decided I was affiliated with the adult industry. I posted that I was looking for models and I gave an idea of what I was looking for lingerie, implied, nude and more adult. They assumed since I posted more adult that I was shooting porn for some site... more adult is not code for porn. Maybe I should have put "playboy style" or "penthouse style" but that too could be construed as me shooting porn. I had no intension on shooting porn or am I affiliated with the porn industry. Before all this I was posting regular and not causing any problems.
When they first kicked me off they said it was because of a photo I posted. The photo? It was model in a diaper and pigtails biting on a teething ring. It was cute and she wasn't doing anything sexual. When I told them this they quickly told me that it was because I was affiliated with lingerienights.tv and they had a couple of complaints about recruiting for porn. They couldn't give me any examples of this and I have been out with lingerienights.tv in clubs shooting lingerie in crowded areas. The admins certainly didn't ban everyone on lingerienights friends list because I know a few people still on there that were friends with them... I quickly told them that also and that is when they quoted my post. To me this shows that they had nothing on me and they interpreted my post as how they wanted to see it.
In the mean time there are reports of models being lured by rapists and 1 is even missing but yet the last individuals to deal with these models were photographer and they still have profiles and actively using them.
I honestly don't know why this bothers me so much but it does. It like high school again. They were bullies in high school and when they grew up they realized the real world wasn't going to put up with their bullying so they became admins to continue their bully mentality.
If I had the ability to do so, I would create a similar site and change things up a bit.

They have a few people that have been given some power over membership and they have not concept of customer service. They will cut you off for something they think 'might' be an infraction on their rules just because of the words you use, not the actual meaning. WTH is that? Then they will cut you off, delete your contacts and mail messages. No questions ask.
My advise, stay away! Don't invest the time trying to build a network here.

WOW! What a crappy way to run a business.

Beware of IB Lies
March 16, 2016

Model Mayhem is run'd by IB. Internet Blunders. IB has this massive Fraud of numbers game going on. IB says there are 900,000 plus "Active Members" when in fact there are only 180,000 Members on a regular basis. The site is poorly run'd... with constant BUGS ruining a possible good thing.

IB. Internet Blunders... has zero clue on running this website. The only thing that is consistent about Model Mayhem is the massive inconsistent behavior. 100,000's of Customers have left Model Mayhem... because of the way IB. Internet Blunders runs MM. Stay Away. Do not waste your value time or Monies. The MODS who run MM. Are these collective Collasal failures. No one at MM are on the same page.

What do you call a Company Like IB, Internet Blunders. That intentionally defrauds their Customers? IB. Internet Blunders... how many Inactive Members are on MM? 800,000plus!

So called self proclaimed photographers posting pictures without consent of models, no release form signed or authorization to use the image/likeness of that person. So basically any pissed of man or women can join as a photographer and post nude pictures of there ex and the admin will not remove the photos. Instead they tell you to hire an attorney!
