Metacafe

Introduction

MetaCafe is a video online platform to upload and easy access media/entertainment through online. Just like YouTube/Dailymotion which you can publish and watch on particular video. Nowadays, it is a short-form video and you see the algorithm are just bland but mostly are compelling even it is terrible.

What I had been a MetaCafe uploader but I am not always watch their video. At least, I had been watching of some video, some are great content and some are just bland to the sense of some video. It is biased because mostly I only see the franchise's and company's channel that never been seen an individual and individual community/team/group channel which is the charm of the website is losing. The most of the videos are bland and some of it are fine content.

The Video Online Platform

It doesn't solve temporarily videos for long time like have been waiting for 1 year and some of videos are working but, in few seconds, it won't load anymore even you got a stable internet speed.

About uploading a video, first it is processing then wait and see "inactive" on thumbnail. It is been 3 days of inactive video then it shows my video on the screen and I can share it. So, expect it to upload before it publishes your video. The problem is, they took so long before you really publish it online!

Conclusion

Overall, if you are passing a project on school/teacher, professor, or something need to send it, you need to adjust your schedule or using YouTube is easier. But you can still use MetaCafe if you just want to. And they need to be better than this review, like, "can't upload because of error" or just say there's an error because some of my videos are gone and lost in somewhere like darkness.

Metacafe isn't better than YouTube, Daily Motion, or any of the other video-sharing websites that I have visited. Sometimes the videos on the site have problems playing on my Android phone. But what especially irks me about Metacafe is that its "report video" feature is practically useless. If you report a video for copyright infringement, nothing happens. No response from the admin. This is compared to YouTube, Daily Motion, and Nico Nico videos where you are redirected to a copyright complaint form and asked questions by the admin that will help them determine if your copyright claim is valid. If it weren't for this fact, I would give Metacafe a 3 star rating because it is not otherwise horrible. But since the difficulty in getting videos that infringe on copyright removed is a big problem, I can only give it a 2 star rating.

I don't like this video sharing website because all videos are not available on this platform.

MetaCafe is kind of like Youtube but better curated and more fun. It is an online video sharing community where users can contribute content. Most content is in short-film video format. Other users can rate it, review it and spread it on the metacafe network. There are movie trailers, game trailers, music reviews, sports and all the usual categories. The quality of videos is better. The website layout is a bit cluttered but it does not interfere with the video viewing. One can kill hours on metacafe and connect it with your facebook account to make it more even more social.

I feel like metacafe could do better. It isn't completely intuitive the way you navigate through the website, and it isn't by any means a youtube killer. One thing it does have over youtube is the metacafe pro feature that allows you to download videos from the site. Other than that, the website's player is lacking, and navigating through different videos is a pain.
