You can say that your computer or Smartphone is safe until the scammer and spyware do not enter your device without your concern. Actually, various viruses can enter your devices, but you can't tell when or how. That's why you need software like antivirus, and McAfee is the leading brand in all security solutions that you can opt for. The countless popups and advertisements make the overall experience almost as painful as unprotected access. Not sure if it is really helping at all... it however is very loud in telling you how good a job it is doing. Kind of like the proverbial man proclaiming loudly that he took the garbage out (his one good deed for the day) while his wife has been cleaning all day and currently on hands and knees laboring. I do not recommend Get anything else...

Had mcafee for 2 years, decided not to renew. Currently I have been unable to fully remove all mcafee products from my system, including following their instructions, finding any file with there name and manually deleting and uninstalling.

It claims to be catching stuff, and popping up stating so even thought its gone, do not put yourself through this stress, so many videos about the same issues time for them to be removed from trustworthy status.

McAfee offers good quality security solutions for consumers and businesses. For example, I use McAfee SECURE for my website. My experience using McAfee's solution is decent.

I just purchased McAfee subscription tonight. Was not able to download it. Called tech support at first he said it was at my end and then finally admitted it was at his end when I told him I had a Hewlett-Packard brand new laptop with Windows 11. They use offshore support. McAfee doesn't even care enough about Americans to hire them. I have never been spoken to the way this man spoke to me. I am pretty sure the guy hates Americans.

I use McAfee for few years now. It works pretty well. McAfee blocks viruses regularly. Also it warns me of websites with possible malware that makes surfing pretty safe. Price is affordable. As for the cons, a few weeks ago I started to notice McAfee completely blocks my computer for a 10-30 seconds when updates itself. At the same time it consumes less computing resources than kaspersky on average.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS. If you have this on your device, even for one single month, you'll have countless pop-up advertisements forever. They're near impossible to get rid of and come up multiple times a day, sometimes covering your entire screen.

Trust me, if you're reading this and considering a "free trial" or subscribing to McAfee, do not do it. You will regret it if you ever change your mind. They don't leave you alone. Even while you're paying them, they still bother you about upgrades. They don't know how to shut up.

I have talked with this company multiple times over the past two years. To find out today after an automatic renew of 200 dollars after my original purchase of under 100 dollars (that i have off on both my phone and computer) that i have being charged for 50 devices although i would use two. This company will do anything to steal your money. You can get the same services for less than $20 for 1 or 2 devices. Dont waste your money and dont let a company scam you out of 100s of dollars.

McAfee somehow installed pop ups on my computer. I don't know how to get rid of them. I feel this an invasion of my privacy. They are asking me to renew. I never had their service. I've never heard anything good about them!

I have to agree that they are terrible, absolutely no assistance can be given to anyone in South Africa, is it so difficult to give a refund because we can not afford it? The number they give is not valid, the worst part for me is that I am still within my 7-day window of cancellation.

Tip for consumers:
If you are unsure and in Southern Africa, give it a miss.

Had mcafee for more than 5 years, deep scanned my pc nothing is found all is great. Scanned it with malwarebytes found alot of nasties. It also slowed down my new win7 i5 computer, customer service is not very good, takes a long time to find someone to help you with step by step guidance. The Online backup is a joke. Unable to uninstall after uninstalling everything with MCPR. Exe, had to delete every registry key associated with mcafee. Too much time wasted, a positive bloatware and processor/resource hogger.

I don't recommend this to anyone.

Last year I bought 2 desktop computers from Best Buy. McAfee is claiming that when you buy a computer you AUTOMATICALLY have McAfee and every year after they charge you an annual fee WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLWDGE and without your permission. They charged me $199.99 and REFUSE to REFUND my money for this UNAUTHORIZED transaction. I would NEVER use or ever buy anything from a DISHONEST company like McAfee! I am a senior citizen and veteran. If you buy anything from McAfee you will be ripped off!

Tip for consumers:
When you call McAfee customer service you will be transferred to 4 different people and none of them will resolve your problem. You simply waste 2 hours on the phone.

Once upon a time, there was a decent, even praiseworthy, cybersecurity company named McAfee. But things did not turn out happily ever after. Rather, McAfee metamorphosed into a scamming, lying, incompetent (except at scamming) bunch of thieves.

After being dunned by McAfee for more money (and FAST!), I found out that they didn't know, or care, whether I had one subscription or two, or none; when my subscription(s) expired, how many devices they were "protecting," or how much money I had paid or would pay for "renewal." The reps contradicted one another (and my account information on their own website), and simply lied--and lied and lied, until they got sick of me and disconnected the call.

I am trying simply to CANCEL and get $87 back out of $600 that I paid (they claim to a "scam" company--that magically happened to answer THE McAFEE "SERVICE" LINE). So far I have gotten nowhere with them, and will probably pursue legal action.

DON'T GO NEAR McAFEE! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND DRIVE YOU MAD!

I wish I could give negative stars.

90% of viruses and malware are created and spread by McAfee itself.
This is form inside workers, McAfee to show that their antivirus is efficient.
It is also a way to market their antivirus, as the more viruses and malware are there the more McAfee generates sales.

One McAfee insider Engineer has told me, if you want to get rid of malware and viruses then you should get rid of McAfee Antivirus, as installing McAfee in your computer is worse than installing a virus, as by installing McAfee the company will have access to your computer in which every now and then they will send you a virus or a malware so their McAfee antivirus runs and catch them for you.

This is kind of stunt to remained you to renew your McAfee subscription when it ends.
For sure some of these malware and viruses that McAfee sends to your computer will create some damage that McAfee antivirus will not show you.

So just uninstall McAfee and stay virus free, even workers at McAfee they secretly use a slogan between them that says: Pour on your computer Coffee, better than installing McAfee

Tip for consumers:
If you visit McAfee website they might infect your system with a malware, to insure they market to you and sell you their antivirus software

I tried Mcafee, it was not what I needed/expected. I have TRIED to delete the program MANY times... I get to the "delete" screen (make changes to your device) and am prompted, questioning if I really want to delete "Mcafee UI Host". I click yes, (obviously) and the next screen prompts me to "select what you want to remove", however, there is nothing there... It's blank. Consequently I have not been able to remove Mcafee.

That alone is annoying, however, EVERY TIME I use the computer a window pops up reminding me I am not protected by Mcafee and I should renew... That window cannot be closed. Emails to "customer service" go unanswered as I am CERTAIN they believe I will give in and renew with them... I won't. I have another provider.

Point being... DONT use Mcafee.

Still not through cleaning up after the mess McAfee left in my computer. McAfee is very well-known for not doing clean installs, leaving remnants of their old software. They didn't do a clean install of my renewal... they didn't even update when I renewed. I had bits and pieces of McAfee, none of which protected my computer. Now, I've had to uninstall all their bits and pieces, clean up the viruses McAfee said I didn't have, and get rid of some malware, undetected by McAfee.
Save yourself some headaches and your computer from getting sick by never taking a chance on McAfee. Of course, all the problems I had happened after the "30-day" money-back guarantee! I'm out money for TWO renewals because I'm a novice and didn't realize until too late, after the damage had been done, that McAfee didn't protect me.

The customer service for this company is horrendous. You will get India, they will not understand your problems, they will try to sell you a service plan for $169/year, and they will refuse to connect you with America. The product lets viruses through and, when you try to get clarification regarding how to remove them, you get India again and another sales pitch. I had a 5 year subscription with McAfee and cancelled it.

I have McAfee LiveSafe which is their most expensive security software suite at a whopping $89.99. It has the following problems:

1. It just stops working but you don't know it until for some reason you want to open the program (to do a scan or something) and it is unresponsive. To get it working you have to reinstall it. I have had to do this several times.

2. It says it works with all popular browsers. It has an app called SafeKey that is said to securely manage your site user names and passwords and auto fill them in. It does not work with Firefox without changing some settings which Mozilla Firefox does not recommend. I did it anyway. SafeKey works on some sites and not on others. Firefox does a better job of login management.

3. As of tomorrow, Dec. 31,2015 they are eliminating SafeKey for another app called TrueKey which does not work with Firefox at all according to info. On the Web. If you go to the Firefox Website and do a search for TrueKey, "there are no results found".

4. Their email Support always goes to a error page when you submit it.

5. Their Chat Support keeps disconnecting always so it is impossible to use.

6. They have "Virtual Technician" software that is supposed to find and fix problems when LiveSafe stops working. It scans and finds problems and says it corrects them but the program still doesn't work and has to be reinstalled.

7. When I ran a free copy of Malwarebytes from cnet and ran a scan, it found issues McAfee had missed.

8. They have a clear SATISFACTION GUARANTEE" logo on their page where you enter your credit card info. And make the purchase. I have requested a refund as I am DISSATISFIED but they have refused.

I have filed a consumer complaint with the Better Business Bureau of San Jose, CA to try and get my money back as I have 210 days left on my subscription and have removed all the McAfee software in favor of Windows Defender, Windows Firewall and a couple of free applications from cnet. I have Windows 10 and a new Toshiba Laptop with a Core i7 processor and 12 MB of ram. So I don't think the problems with LiveSafe are my computer.

What more can I say, stay away from McAfee. I got along find for years with a computer with Windows XP, Avast free antivirus and a few other free apps from cnet. I don't why in a weak moment I opted for this terrible McAfee/Intel junk!

I'm good with McAfee as an anti-virus system, but be very careful. When you purchase this system, buy it at the store. Do NOT order it online with a credit card number! They will automatically run your card and charge you three times what you initially paid for it. I find it ironic that a company that prides itself in protecting computer users will go and scam them out of money. Emails to them were never returned. Now I will have to cancel my card completely. Oh... don't just report your card lost to get one with a new number. McAfee can access that card without being given the info. Pathetic.

** Update. For the past 4 months, I have been getting non stop popups on my PC telling me my subscription is ending in 317 days! My computer has junk files that need to be deleted etc... Yes McAfee customer support has become much more communicative BUT they still can't resolve the problem though I was promised their engineers would fix it next week (3 months ago) so as of today I am uninstalling AL McAfee products from five computers and only relying on defender. No more popups, problem solved.

McAfee's customer service has come a long way from what it used to be. Trust me I come from a customer service background (Director level) and I know great customer service when I see it. A couple of weeks back I had issues with installing on one of my PCs tech support online quickly connected to my PC and solved the issue. I got not one but two callbacks as a follow-up (I know excessive and I told them that). Today I contacted you again due to those annoying popups! I tried chatting but when I typed into the chat bar it wouldn't appear so I disconnected, forgot I had added my number in the form they called me back, connected again to my PC, and shut the popup down. Fixed it? Nah,:0) BUT they were extremely apologetic and stated that an update/fix was coming up in the next week or so so I could shut down notifications myself. I don't know about you but how many times have YOU been disconnected and an agent called you back on the number you know they had? Yep, never! McAfee even though it didn't solve gets five stars from me!

Tip for consumers:
customer service used to be crap, now they are falling head over heels to appease.
