MapMe

Changed ownership of a map without any contact with the actual owner of the map, us. Literally, made a team member the owner, giving them access to payment details etc. When asked about it, silence! If they were in Europe they would be getting reported to GDPR

I was initially very pleased with MapMe. The maps were very functional and the ability of embedding them to a website was great. Until the day users start contacting me asking me saying they couldn't access the map and were getting a 404 error.

I went to my account and the map had disappeared. I had over 70 pins on the map and had spent a good amount of hours creating it and it was just gone with no warning and no notification.

I contact the costumer service support and the only thing they said was "it is possible that the map has been removed automatically from the system if it was not on a premium plan and did not abide by the free tier limitations."
I understand that, but not sending a notification beforehand so I could make other arrangements was pretty terrible.
I asked them if there was a possibility of recovering the data and they said no.

Definitely never using MapMe again.
They advertise it as a free service, but clearly do not respect their costumers.
