“My experience thus far”

Out the gate so far, Since June 2018 I've only ever ordered grab bag rolls I've never had any problems with it. The Raptor HTPLA works great. I have had one roll where my shipping was delayed but Makergeeks corrected the issue within an hour of my email. I've never ordered bulk orders of 7+ rolls at a time like some people have and since I was ordering grab bags it really gave Makergeeks freedom to just throw whatever they had lying around in the box. I plan on ordering some more Raptor HTPLA very soon to replace what I got in grab bags, fingers crossed I don't have to change this rating from a 5.

“AVOID. SCAM. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.”

Look at the Better Business Bureau! They have an "F" for a reason! After I complained they DELETED MY ACCOUNT! Purchases placed in SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER. After over 20 emails telling me that it was coming they finally canceled one of my orders. Do not buy from them, it's more reliable to use the cheapest ebay sellers than this company. Save your time and money. Do not do business with them. The "Sales" are just a lure to get you to buy, please don't fall for it.

I don't really know what's going on with all the negative reviews. I have ordered my filament exclusively from mg for the past 2 years. Everything has been up to par. My orders have always shipped the next day and ups is quick to deliver. Usually 2-3 days and I've got my order. Sometimes the colors in the grab bag can be a little drab I've gotten clear filament 4 times now. But it's a grab bag, what do you expect? Best filament produced in the US and cheaper than most any filament. Can't go wrong

If you haven't given the MakerGeeks filament a chance, you are missing out. Great prints, strong, consistent and vibrant colors. PLA sticks easily to our unheated bed and we have had no issues with stringing.

Their customer service is also stellar - fast and proactive response.

All in all, A+ experience!

It was taking a while to ship my order filament. I sent a few emails, but was pleasantly surprised how quickly someone got back to me each time. In the end MakerGeeks and I were able to come to suitable solution by replacing a filament on my order with a stocked version. My order was shipped immediately to my satisfaction. It is always pleasure doing business with a company the responds immediately to their customer. Great job MakerGeeks!

I have been buying filament from MakerGeeks for many years and have had amazing experiences with them. I have bought everything from Maker brand PLA, Maker PETG, ABS, to Raptor PLA. All has been very high quality stuff. I cannot say enough about how the team actually cares about their customers. If there is ever any issue, please contact them and they will make it right!

Edit: I just noticed all of the one star reviews below. Not sure who these people are, but I can personally vouch for Josh and MakerGeeks that these reviews do not represent him or his company and team. Not sure what agenda these reviewers have...

I received four spools of filament and all were outstanding. When I didn't receive a couple stickers, a very insignificant part of the order, they immediately responded and sent them out to me. I have never heard back so quickly from any company. Amazing experience.

I've been dealing with MakerGeeks for about 2 years now. I can completely understand all the reviews about late filament, errors, etc. I've dealt with it all. BUT I will say, this is some of the best and most consistent filament I've tried. Expect long delays with big orders, and you may even have to email them to give them a nudge. Their issue seems to be company size. It doesn't seem like they can handle all the orders or have enough employees? Either way, I swear by their filament and will not order from anyone else. The price is going to be hard to beat!

I can say, I've never NOT received an order! I may have sent them quite a few emails to remind them, but they have never let me down. Just be prepared to wait sometimes. On that note, I've just placed an order yesterday and they've already sent tracking today... so you just never know.

I was a subscriber to the box for about a year and never had an issue. The first one took a couple extra weeks to get out but the rest had all been on time. When I canceled, they charged and sent one box after, when I emailed, they responded right away, refunded me and let me keep the box. I've never had to wait more than 24 hours for a response from them. I don't understand the disparity between peoples experiences here.

I've used Maker Geeks before for filament and surprise surprise, they're still just as excellent. I made a small error when typing up the shipping info which resulted in the package making it to my post office and then being immediately sent back. You can imagine my dismay; however, Maker Geeks really pulled through and kept me updated with what was going on with the package and at the end of it all, they sent me a whole new package with the corrected address. They're really a benchmark for other filament and 3D printer hardware distributors to compare themselves to.

I first found this company when I joined the monthly Geek Box club. Once I started using the product I was hooked. Simply put it prints better than the crap from China. Prices are reasonable for a product made in the USA and backed with US employees. I have had to deal with customer support a few times and each time it is fantastic, problems or help using what they sell is readily available. Unlike those random companies in china. Or even on Amazon. And free shipping on all orders great bonus. I do not buy filament from any other supplier any longer they are my only source.

I have been a customer of MakerGeeks for some time and they have been GREAT! Great customer service, Great products and Great people! I have not had any problems with anything that i have purchased from them. There filament has been always constantly good, prints are always smooth and clean.
Their monthly MakerGeeks Box subscription is also Great! Not just "samples" of product, ROLLS of product. They give you so much more for your money than the other monthly box services.
I wish i could give them MORE STARS!

These are hands down some of the best most versatile filaments I have used. And I melt a lot of plastic. That said these fils print hotter than what you are normally used to but with amazing results. Great products guys and amazing deals keep up the good work!

I have used 5 spools of MakerGeeks filament so far (abs, PLA, PETG, and raptor PLA) and have had great success with all 5 so far. It has all printed just as good as the Hatchbox I have used in my opinion. Their shipping has always been quick for me and I got my first monthly box yesterday and it was a great deal. I'll be buying two more surprise boxes from them soon, just because I can never make up my mind what to get because their selection is so great.

When I got my first 3D printer last year, I wasn't sure where to go to buy filament. I was also having trouble with the sample PLA I'd received with the printer so I was looking for something high quality.

A friend and colleague mentioned he was having great results with MakerGeeks Raptor PLA and gave me some to try. It worked incredibly well and solved all of my warping issues entirely!

Since that time I've purchased many, many kilos of filament from MakerGeeks and I have nothing but glowing comments about my experience with them and their products.

They are prompt shippers, pro-active communicators, and just all around friendly and professional to deal with.

I recommend MakerGeeks without reservation and with great alacrity!

TLDR; Received in less than a week, beautiful colors, and very durable but needs higher temps than most other PLA. Would and will buy from them again.

Ive read so many bad reviews, that i was kind of scared ordering from Maker Geeks, but i have heard that their Raptor PLA is quite good for making HT and rugged parts while still being easy to print like regular PLA. So i figured i would go ahead and give them a shot. I ordered the grab bag or whatever it is called and purchased 2 spools, one the crystal series PLA and the other being the raptor. And after all the "horror" stories about not receiving packages, i was honestly somewhat surprised (sorry MG) that i had the package at my door in less than a week. Of course eagarly opened it up to a spool of a brilliant, almost pikachu/lemon yellow, and a vibrant crystal blue. Very stoked with both colors, and both have been printing quite well. Both need higher temps than usual PLA, at around 230-240C for both with the raptor liking even more heat at higher speeds. The only issue i have had has been with light "popping" in the blue, and slight under-extrusion in the Raptor. But these issues have been continually getting better as i tweak the settings. So i will without a doubt buy from these guys again! Sorry this is so long, but i figure that with all the bad reviews that they have been getting, they deserve atleast one in depth positive review on them

I ordered the 2 roll grab bag item, and ended up receiving to my cheer the two colors I was hoping for: black and red. The shipping occurred well within the time frame estimated in checkout.

I've been printing with the black pla, and it's been performing over my expectations, all parts have printed as expected, 230 was a little high on my prusa for non-sagging top layers, but that was fixed by just going down to 220.

I've experienced no clogging, the filament width seems self consistent, and the price per value is rather great in my experience.

I'll be going back (and have since this order) for my needs going forward.

Not sure how so many people came out of the woodwork to give one-star reviews but I haven't had any issues with makergeeks.

I ordered some filament during a grab bag sale and it works just as well as hatchbox, if not better.

I have only had a very limited experience with Maker Geeks products up to this point, but I have been very pleased with what I have used so far. Additionally, after contacting them about a concern, they replied to my email very quickly and well outside of their advertised business hours. When I contacted them a second time (outside of business hours yet again) for an unrelated request they were quick to reply and even willing to go outside the norm of their way of doing things and make my request happen. They were willing to do this for someone who had spent almost no money with them at this point. I have been very impressed with the level of customer support that I have received up to now. Highly recommend.

I have been 3d printing for over a year as a semi-professional business (still have that day job :( ).
I have been using Maker Geeks for awhile now. I have had little to no issues with their filaments. They stand behind their product and work with you if there are any issues.
Fantastic company to deal with and top notch service.
Highly recommend!

I run a Makerspace at a community college and work with 3D printers on a regular basis. I know good filament when I see it, and I use Maker Geeks filament with my own personal machine. Prints come out very strong (it is a tough, higher temperature PLA, not brittle like so many others. A small piece of filament fatigues when bent, rather than snapping or cracking). The filament captures fine detail well. Layer adhesion is great, and the filament diameter tolerance is consistent. It is an affordable PLA with results comparable to very expensive, high-end filaments. I order the 1.75 mm PLA, in regular Maker Geeks colors, as well as their recycled PLA, and have been very pleased with all of them. Packaging is good, with silica gel packets in resealable bags which work well for dry storage. Labeled with proper print temperatures.
Also, the customer service is good. I have emailed with questions, and received prompt, helpful responses from the owner.
This is a good company, and I recommend this filament to fellow makers.

Business History

Hello, my name is Joshua b Smith and I own MakerGeeks.com - MakerGeeks.com was born out of a hobby that got way out of hand. I have always been interested in building and making even as a small child, whether it was taking the door knob off the family home at age 5 to find out how it worked or devouring the newest BASIC programming guide in the back of my Boys Life magazine to the epic plans of robots and lasers that overflowed my tree house fort work-bench; yup... you could say I was bit with the MAKE bug early and often!

So, MakerGeeks.com was born and we have been selling, printing and talking with all you great makers out there ever since... we started with just a few kits and a few rolls of filament and now we have one of the largest selections of 3D Printing filament, 3D printing kits and 3D printers under one roof here in the USA. We are also an official retailer for the Duplicator 5S and Duplicator 4S dual-head 3D Printers, MakerBot, PrintrBot, FlashForge, Taulman 3D, NinjaFlex as well as an official retailer for Arduino and countless other brands of companies both here in the US and internationally.

MakerGeeks.com is a Christian and Christ centered company and I believe that God is in everything we do. From the product we choose to sell to the clients and partners we have to this very web site - and to that end we give Him all the glory for our success and love Him dearly and serve Him gladly. I believe in the blessing of the tither (the biblical principal of giving gladly at least 10% of your income to the Lord and His house). It has always been my goal to become a 'reverse' tithing company and individual in which my company, Megan (my wife) and myself would give 90% to the Lord and His work and keep and live on the 10% portion. Great men of God like R. G. Letourneau, the father of modern earthmoving, and Henry Crowell the founder of the Quaker Oat Co., Coleman Outdoors and countless other companies both gave much more than they kept to the Lords work. With the Lords mercy and grace I strive toward that end as well.

I'm so excited to work with you and see what you are making today, be blessed!
