Big rip off@!
October 18, 2015

I seen article on sky news app, someone tested madbid out and got an iPhone for £27.00.

They advertise on tv so I thought must be good cos I'm a big eBay user always looking for new gadgets. I purchased 275 credits from madbid costing £27.99 not realising it's nothing like eBay, I auto bidded on a few items and my credits were gone in minutes, so feels like throwing money away, big rip off as far as I'm concerned. Not complained to them cos read similar circumstances, and people have had no results, they should make it very clear you pay for every bid in tv too as well as their website, feel like I've been robbed.

This site is a scam
April 7, 2016

The prices are way higher than everywhere... They run same auction in each country to benefit which reduced my chance of winning the product.

And no customer service help either... I ordered an Illumite product and was told to contact manufacturer who never replies anymore.

Stay away from this company. Remember the old saying "when something is too good to be true..."
After reading an article demonstrating you could pick up an Iphone and MacBook Pro for just a few quid, I was stupid enough to sign up and paid £99.00 and got double my credits.
Started bidding and before I knew it, I received a message on my phone that my account had been topped up with another £100, even though I had chosen the "no top up" option when I initially registered.
I ended up paying £285.00 for a Kindle worth £199.00.
In my opinion, this is a very clever and legal way of cheating people out of their hard earned cash.
You have been warned!

Don't be a Mug!
June 5, 2016

Your site & TV advert are a disgrace - you are essentially conning not very savvy people out of their hard-earned cash.
Anyone with 1/2 a brain cell can see its a con - essentially you are charging people for the privilege of bidding in auctions they are almost certainly never going to win & then when they have spent £100, £200 or whatever you give them the opportunity to buy overpriced goods with that credit.
Why can't you just be honest that that's how it works - because you're making a fortune obviously!
Won't be long though before you go the same way as Wonga & either people wake up to the con or Consumer organisations step in to change your business model & require you to be honest.

Got My item down to zero [checking] twice in same auction, they just continued taking fresh bids, what the hell, what do they care, then, the site de-stablised and I lost. I suppose it is one way of selecting their own winner.

This is very sleek Cheat Engine.

1) The rules and regulations are intentionally made blurry and some important came to your knowledge only when you got stuck;
2) They sell mainly garbage;
3) The bidding process is totally opaque - so those 'great deals' most likely are fake;
4) Positive reviews more than likely are made up or paid;
5) For your "earned discount" they offer either:
A) "Treasure Chests" i. E. their own credits (so that as the result you lose all you paid), or
B) an absolute garbage for prices that were attractive (perhaps) five years ago;
6) In the case, you still find something that you actually do not need, but still are willing to buy for your "earned discount" (so you do not lose it completely) you discover the "Shipping and Handling" which could be easily half of their discounted price". For instance, it was £9.99 for earbuds.
I have paid just £9.99, so good quick lesson for a small price.

How such thing can be legal? AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

My first day on madbid I managed to spend £100.00 without knowing because of auto top-up which does not inform you what is really happening. After 5 hours I then got 6 email saying Yay! You have just giving us all your money.
I tried to read the information but they didnt explain very well on how to use the site. So they managed to catch me out.

Mad to use Madrid!
October 30, 2015

This is a complete con. They can 'aution' things cheaply because of all the money they make from people paying for bids! My brother wanted an iPhone so joined Madbid, he won NOTHING. By the time he gave up, he'd wasted enough money to have bought one! Since my brother's misfortune, I have heard of hundreds of other people who have had the same thing happen to them at Madbid. Keep away from them! Save the money you would waste on bids and buy the item outright!

This website is a total disaster, it is a shame and very easily to "spend" those credits very fast and before you know it you've used all £49.99 of it and have recived no product near the price that they advertise.
I ended up using the earned discount to purchase a few things, when these things was faulty I had a nightmare of a time receiving any help from Tony (a manager at Madbid). Stay away and keep your well earned cash and use it on something more useful

I was prompted to buy credits and they offered 99 pounds plus 200% free. I ended up with approx 1,500 credits which was 50% free. Then I realised after my brain was twisted by them that you can't even spend credits, only bid with them, and every bid seems to take 3 credits off you. Even if you win you pay at least 10 pound for delivery plus the cost of the winning bid. But not with your credits you have bought, but even more cash from your dwindling account. So you can never use or get your cash back. I feel such a fool and wanted to warn anybody else. DO NOT DO IT. It's a con. You have been warned. I got my money back because I used PayPal. I opened up a dispute with them and they never even replied so I won the case. Yeh!

Beware!
November 28, 2014

Beware! Had to buy credits before I could access the site. There was nothing on there that was of any interest but when I went to the online chat to enquire about a full refund for credits purchased but not used, the person at the other end ignored me and wouldn't answer the question until I pushed very hard for a response. I ended up ringing to get an answer and confirmation that the money would be repaid... scary... made me feel I had been mislead and was being ripped off... not nice. It remains to be seen as to whether the refund ever reaches my account. I suspect I will have to chase these people again but I live in hope:-(

Tried Madbid to see what it was about. You buy bidding credits and bid for items. Each time you bid you use credits, this can be 5 credits for lower priced items or 15 credits each bid for more expensive items. When you do not win, which is the most likely scenario the bids you use are transferred into monetary credits. That's ok you may think but you cannot withdraw the money you can only use it to buy vastly overpriced items in their shop, eg Bitmore e storm Bluetooth speaker £41.99 + £9.99 post and packaging. This item can be bought on Amazon for £22.50 with free delivery. Best advice is don't be lured by the chance of a fantastic bargain cos if it sounds too good to be true, it is. And don't bother with customer service as they will just quote their terms and conditions. It may be perfectly legal but it is very shady.

Biggest rip off ever
October 30, 2015

Thought I'd spend £50.00 to buy some 'bargains' for my new flat. Never happened, soon lost all the money, not happy. They seem to set traps by placing 'newbie' auctions only. Don't go near them or you'll win that auction, which amounts to a couple of pound. You then don't get any money back as you won an auction. I even stated I didn't want any newbie auctions. Read the fine print! My experience was extremely disappointing and a waste of money, not to mention the hours you have to give to an auction to win it, which I doubt you ever do.

This site got some good reviews written all over internet about how to win at mad bid and all, many of the reviews tell you to enable auto bid. That is one sure way to loose all money. There is no guarantee that you win even with auto bid. There are many people constantly bidding. I nearly lost 300$ before I realise I cannot win. Stay away.

Easy and Fun
November 23, 2015

For me it is like a gambling website, but because of the Earned Discount it compensate. I think most of the users who signed up do not read how to play! They get angry for no reasons or they lack of reading the TC. I do not always win, to win an item it also has to do with luck. Luckily I can purchase items on the website with my Earned Discount!

Scammed Site, STAY AWAY
October 12, 2015

I got scammed by buying 500 credits for 49.99 Pounds and started clicking on auction to bid. After hardly 10 minutes, received message that I have run out of credit and buy more credit to bid. Lost 49.99. What a fool am I and feel ashamed of myself to come into scammers trap like that and did not win anything in the end.
