They charged me twice. They confirmed the mistake... and never reimbursed me. I chased them for 3 months, provided all the requested receipts, bank statement, account number etc. I finally gave up and cancelled my plan with them: they wrote to me that they could not process the refund as I was no longer a customer with them! They still owe me money but I can sit on it. Thieves.

Shocking back company

I felt conned by them as got a sim that didnt work and couldnt get help by phone and email takes 3-4 days and no help at all, i think the care team are in india and not professional and did not want to know, shocking service, avoid

Poor customer experience. I am a customer of lycamobile for almost 6 years. I topped up my sim online with 10 pounds never received the credit on my sim. Now the customer support is asking me 100 questions about pin nr and other detais I don't know to investigate my issue. You are my support and should know my sim details. I sent you a screenshot with the payment transaction details that should be more than enough to investigate my account and proceed with my refund.

Paypal can help
January 2, 2023

It's impossible to get refund from Lyca when you qualify it, but you could try contacting Paypal if you paid by Paypal. Within 6 months, you will have a buyer's protection. They will open a case for you or refund you straitaway. Good luck!

I wish I could give Lycamobile zero stars for the nightmare they've put me through. I'm not even a customer, yet somehow I found myself tangled in their web of deceit and incompetence.

It all started when I noticed unauthorized charges on my bank statement in November. Shocked and confused, I immediately contacted Lycamobile's customer service for assistance. Little did I know, that was the beginning of a months-long battle with a company that seems to thrive on dishonesty and inefficiency.

Their customer service representatives, if you can call them that, were utterly useless. They demanded my Lycamobile phone number or account number, which I obviously couldn't provide since I've never been a customer. It was like talking to a brick wall.

After countless frustrating conversations and promises of investigations that led nowhere, the charges continued to appear on my statement in December and January. Each time I contacted them, I faced interminable wait times and empty reassurances.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, in February, they had the audacity to charge me again! It's clear to me now that Lycamobile isn't just incompetent; they're actively trying to swindle unsuspecting individuals out of their hard-earned money.

I've kept meticulous records of every interaction with Lycamobile, and if they don't stop charging me and refund every penny they've stolen, I won't hesitate to take legal action.

Save yourself the headache and avoid Lycamobile at all costs. They're not just a terrible company; they're outright crooks.

Airport SIM scam
March 25, 2018

So you arrive in the UK at Heathrow wanting a UK SIM for your phone and Lyca Mobile are there waiting to cheat you.
They sell expensive SIMS that don't work and lie to you about putting credit on your phone. You leave quickly wanting to get out of the airport before realising you have been conned.
The SIM is useless there is no credit and no data meaning you will ultimately have to buy another SIM.
If you call them on your handset the calls are charged and as your phone has no credit you have been well and truly cheated!

I buy a new simcard online and it is not activated. We activated it but did not know it was not successful. They send you 2 PIN but was not clear which pin to use to activate the bundle. Only use the word PIN. I just found out on my last bundle activation that the activation PIN is for only to activate the the sim and the and the customer PIN is to on activate the bundle. I buy a 10 pounds bundle online after talking to different live agent who just disappear in the middle of conversation and transfer me to a robot which I find very very rude. The bundle I bought the second time is not activated automatically. To make sure I do not make the same mistake before. I called and talked to 3 different customer service or maybe the same person. Who knows. On the first call the customer agent answered me coughing pretending not to hear me, 2nd Agent goes silent for 6 minutes. I let the call run as I am pissed off with my first call. 3rd customer agent answered me for few second with out any word and drop the call. Horrible experience. Plus the £5 bundle I recently activated has only 2 GB data but online says 3 GB

Rip off stay away!

Got robbed!
I decided to to turn off auto renewal just to stay in control and an hour later there was a warning "no Internet connection" and couldn't make calls either. I presumed I ran out of data 15GB. Data usage shows from 1- 10 august just over 3Gb used. I hardly use mobile data while at home. Unaware I put it down to end of month. But then I realised it's only my second promotional month £5 out of 3 then £10 there after. I went to top up £5 mobile data resumed for an hour only after which I get that no "Internet connection". Which I was getting randomly throughout july. Switch on/off airplane mode to get it to work but not this time. Switched back to my home WiFi then i was able to use the net I'm just being robbed of £5.99 in just under an hour. No longer able to make calls/ text or use the Internet.
Dialed *131# message was like yiur balance
Is zero pounds, please top up... Something like that!
I'm still within my promotional period on the second month out of 3, I was attracted by it. I'm not a gamer or heavy user.

I'm now going to look for the mainstream providers for a more reliable internet connection.
Lyca, you just lost a customer!

Absolute garbage!
November 9, 2023

I bought a sim-only deal for £5.99/month. A few days later, I tried to send a premium text and couldn't. I phoned Lycamobile's Customer Services and after a message saying "Thank you and goodbye" every time I tried, on the 6th attempt (on the same number) it went through!
I told the foreign guy what had happened and he said I needed to top up so that I could send premium texts so I paid £10 + vat and tried again. Still nothing.
So then I had to go through this mess again. I went through the same annoying loop to finally get through to someone who only spoke English as a poor 2nd language, and that call was cut off early!
I tried again. This guy explained that the premium number I used (which is a competition line) cannot be used with Lycamobile SIM's and because I bought the top-up with a voucher online, he wouldn't be able to refund me either! So I wasted hours of my time and also spent money I didn't need to, for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
It's an absolute shambles!

DO NOT BOTHER WITH LYCA
