I made a HUGE mistake and I hope this saves someone. I ignored the negative reviews as I thought they might be overhyped or unwarranted.
Boy was I wrong.
I have never seen a more blatant and desperate cash grab of a system this website was made to be.
After the initial fee it never stopped, every singled thing that seemed would be included was a new purchase, course quiz retakes, "upgrades", emailing you certificate, or "expediting email", access to course materials again.
It never seemed to stop.
After the DETS course, There was no less SEVEN pages in a row, everyone trying to get more money! Each with new offers trying to get us to pay extra just to receive the certificate and ridiculous warning statements about the "USPS" option as if it was risky trying to coerce people into buying the upgrade, again, another 30$.
I'm rambling at this point I know but it actually stunned me lol
In almost want others to go through it just to see I'm not crazy.
But its bad enough I'm reporting this to the Florida AG and FLHSMV because there's no way they would allow this as approved vendor.
Don't waste your time. This website just keeps stacking money on money with unknown charges, and you don't even get certificate after paying ridiculous money.
Worst website to exist. First off, the website hides details that they will charge you more if you want to receive an automated email response for your certificate as well as charging you more for them to notify the DMV at a reasonable time. If you go through with all the extra payments, you will be spending around 100$ or more, but you can cheat the system down a little if you still choose to use this money grab.
I bought it and denied everything, but it was just ad after ad. I denied the email once (it's about 40$): they then give you a 50% off. I denied the notification to speed up the DMV process (10$): 50% off, denied again, 1$ now, denied again, asked to leave them a tip with lowest price of ten dollars?! A tip for what? Also, every section of the course is filled with ads trying to make a quick buck off of you and they even charge to listen along to the words. I saw lots of reviews say it double charges, but I cannot verify that yet. The course itself is easy, but it takes forever and even required two "mandatory" ten-minute breaks where you just have to sit on the screen and do nothing. This website is the first thing to pop up when googling "Florida drivers license drug and alcohol test" and honestly should be removed. I'm surprised Florida approves of this. I'm so petty I had to make an account on here just to lower this websites score that much more.
Total Scam—Stay Far Away! This site is the absolute scum of the Earth—classic bait and switch tactics! They advertise the 4-hour Florida Drug and Alcohol Course and Learner's Permit Test for $19.95, specifically targeting parents trying to help their kids get ready for their permit. But once you enter your credit card info and hit submit, you're hit with screen after screen of upsells. Then suddenly, it says you'll need to pay $39.95 just to receive the certificate by email. At that point, I knew something was wrong. I immediately tried to cancel the transaction, but of course, they say it can take up to three days for a reply—yeah, sure. So I called my credit card company, reported the site as a fraud, and thankfully, they took care of it. This scam site charged me $69.95—not the $19.95 that was clearly advertised—and didn't even provide a breakdown of what the extra $50 was for! The worst part? This site is linked on the official Florida DMV database. How is that even possible? Do not trust this company. They are trash. Avoid this site at all costs for anything related to DMV testing.
The website is outdated, but most importantly, the fee to just email your completed certificate is 50$! Highly misleading.
I used them for defensive driving! They say they are the cheapest traffic school. But they charge you at the beginning to start the course and dont say anything about having to pay more. Then you start and its really easy but theres adds all over the screen trying to get you to pay more for it to "Read it to you" DONT DO IT. Then you take the test at the end if you fail you have to take a retake fee and if you fail again you have to repay and redo the course. Then they give you options and how you want to receive your certification. None of the options are free, all 40-60 dollars. Which is either mail, email, or mailed to DMV or Court House (don't choose that option they will never do it). Then they ask if you want your Driving record emailed to you which takes 3 days and is 40 dollars. Don't let them scam you on that, go to your state DMV website and order it through them, I paid 7 dollars and got it in an email instantly!
My 15 yo came in saying the website kept "asking him for more money". So I went to take a look and I was BLOWN away at how aggressively this site attempted to trick you into adding on more charges. State of Florida needs to be ashamed to have this site listed as a resource on the.gov page - it's completely predatory.
Very sad that people take advantage like this and the government is ok with it. I felt completely captured in a scam thinking that the DMV had only good verified providers. I hope this company is audited soon. Fees and Fees once you are in the "cheapest course"
After I completed the course the website said that they would send the Completion Certificate to the DMV. I found out three months later that they never did, by receiving a letter from DMV that my license was being suspended for noncompletion of the course. I called this company and nobody answers their telephone and wrote several emails with no reply.
I will report this to DMV at Tallahassee and make sure to close their business. They are big time scam, do not use them. They charge you the second time for sending you the certification by email the same amount, So I ended up paying them 2 x 38$=76$ plus now I have to pay for the ticket. I was driving 38 in a 30 mile per hours empty street without even homes there, industriel. I it for the holidays end of the year cops are collecting as much as they can. But when we need them, they are nowhere to be find.
Site says $19.95 however I was billed over $60 and when you call them they do not answer. Over an hour on hold trying to get a refund for their scams, never was able to get through will dispute with my bank.
The price of the course is 28.00. It will tell you later that to get proof that you took the course is an additional 50.00. If you call the customer service number on the website you will be put on hold and transferred endlessly until you hang up. I have no idea how this isn't illegal.
This website states that course completion results would be provided to the traffic court. The website makes several pitches to pay extra for expedited traffic court notification that is unnecessary if timely compliance with the citation is followed. I declined to expedite traffic court notification and have since received a delinquency notice from the traffic court for not providing evidence of payment and traffic school completion. The associated late fee is $18.00.
Not sure what this place really think, nobody subcribe to learn how to drive, you must be dumb, but they taking money, acting as if you subcribe, without knowing...they just dumb, most corporation do it, they check your subscription box...so helpfull
I had not summited processing and this merchant processed it through twice to make matters worse. When contacting they hang up on me twice while keeping me on hold for 30 minutes.
Fees upon fees ended up paying $70 most affordable school? Try the most money hungry expensive course
Took the test for close to 4 hours. And the last questions it told me. I only passed 29 out of 40 so I had to pay again. The second time did the same thing and then it said again. I had a pay again for the third time.
They kept trying to get me to add on services like email my certificate instead of sending it by mail (which makes no sense since sending it by mail would cost them MUCH more than just emailing it to me), but I didnt bite and finally as the last question, they let me get the cert by email for FREE. The price kept going down from 10 to 5 to 99 cents to free. What a joke. They also say that their audio service is the fastest way to go through the course, but the audio did NOT speed up the course at all! Even when I played it at 2x speed, I still had to wait the full amount of time for the timer to end before moving on. Rip-offs and cheats.
Maybe if it didn't charge three times to get the certificate and let you finish all the questions before it glitches and submits, making you pay 30$ to retake it, it would be ok. But nope.
They send a postcard for $5.94 and the least you pay is $70, I couldn't get anyone on the phone after being on hold for over 2 hours! What a horrible company!
Answer: Please contact us at 800-729-1997 from 9:00AM - 6:00PM Monday - Friday and we will be happy to assist you.
Answer: That depends on how much you pay. For thirty dollars you can get it quickly. Without paying you won't get an email at all. The only way to get it without paying is snail mail, 7-10 business days.
Answer: Didn't need to, everything was right in front of me.
Answer: Good and easy way to get over with a 4 hours online traffic school
Answer: I wasn't ripped off, if you simply read the material you'd be fine. Then if you fail you get to use the material, if you didn't pass by then, it's you, all you.
