Horrible Experience
November 3, 2017

I ordered two small skeins of yarn. I received 4 giant skeins of an entirely different yarn. I used PayPal to file a complaint. I made the mistake of emailing the company from my private email. They proceeded to tell me that although they had received my return they could not refund my money until I cancelled the dispute. This exchange went on for a week. I don't think English is their native language and I don't think they know how PayPal works. Finally, after explaining to them over and over that they had to respond to me via PayPal they finally gave me my refund. If you are going to use PayPal learn how to use it.

Dear Patty, thank you for your feedback. Please accept my apologies for this negative experience. I have checked this case and it looks like my colleagues were not clear enough in their communication which I am very sorry for. We are always happy to provide you with a refund or a replacement if there is something wrong with the order, without waiting for the return of the wrongly delivered goods. Usually issuing a refund through our system and not PayPal is a much quicker way for us to do so which the agents were not clear about and thus this misunderstanding had arisen. Please accept my apologies once again and I hope you give us a chance to provide you with a better service in the future.

Dissappointment!

Shipping nightmare! Beware of the shipping and have a plan B. I think if a company is too busy with the holiday orders on March 1st, there must be a huge problem with the company. No help from customer service in fact I could only leave messages. My e-mails were answered but my questions weren't. Why would it take 2 weeks or more to ship from Mo. To Pa.! I actually could have driven there and back faster. Tracking # won't work! Company says package was dropped off, shipping company says, WE NEVER RECEIVED A PACKAGE!

Satisfactory resolution

I made an order with Loveknitting.com for 6x balls of wool. A few hours later i also found a knitting book on their site that I liked to look of so i sent them a query asking if they could add it to my order. They responded very quickly to this so I ordered it as well. Over a week ago i recieved the book but the wool is nowhere to be seen! On my account it says that the order is complete. I have written to them 3 times now and haven't recieved a single response! So they are very quick to respond when it means they will get more money but they obviously don't want to know anything more after that. Their website is shocking to contact them and they don't even offer anywhere to leave feedback on their site! I will NEVER be buying from them again and will be letting everyone I know to be going anywhere but knitting.com to buy their products! Shame on you knitting.com!

I think they must mail the orders third class for it to take so long. I did receive a shipment confirmation about 2 days after I placed my order. The tracking site it leads you to is not USPS, but does have a USPS tracking number. So I looked it up on the USPS site and it is a valid shipment. I am not sure about the updates because USPS isn't always very diligent, but I signed up to receive alerts via email to see if there is a problem. So we will see...

I ordered 6 balls of Malabrigo Mora, color azules, and got 5 balls from one lot number and the 6th from an other. Even though this is a multicolored yarn the difference was huge

Thank you for your feedback on Sitejabber. I am so sorry the yarn is not as you have expected. We always include the same dye lot for one colour in the order once available, however, Malabrigo yarns are hand-dyed yarns, they are dyed in batches and do not have particular dye lot numbers, we even do not have them logged into our system as sometimes hand-dyed yarns may differ with one batch. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. You can return your yarns for a refund if you do not like the colours at all. Steer Clear
October 24, 2017

This outfit is a sham. They are so stupidly late to deliver. You email to check - nothing. You do it again (and again and again...) still nothing. It will then arrive after many many weeks and then next you have a Maryna stalking you with emails (and more emsils) wanting you to confirm it has arrived. Did I say stupid. Trade with them at your absolute peril.

Horrific!

I was super excited to have found what appeared to be a great new crafty source. I placed an order for 10 balls of Mochi yarn and waited eagerly. A month down the line I have been told the order was sent, then told they ran out of stock, offered a meagre discount, told I had been refunded (still have not) and all the while I have had to do all the chasing!
I've sent numerous emails requesting the matter be resolved and whilst their correspondence is very sweet in response to my requests that something be sorted, I am not closer to resolve and am still £40 out of pocket a month down the line. Totally unacceptable and downright shocking. I wouldn't recommend making any purchases from Love Knitting as there is no guarantee you will receive your products and you will be left chasing them until you give up and hey keep your money. If they aren't a scam then they have absolutely no clue how cusomter service works. HIGH RISK!

I find their customer service not good, the goods have disappeared into thin air, their reply you can have 15% off next order, you must be kidding. Do not buy from them try somewhere else

Complete ripoff, they'll take your money fast enough, then find a silly reason not to fulfill your order, which, adding insult to injury, they describe as 'lovingly prepared'

The format that patterns are supplied in is stated on our website in the description to the right of the product but if it is not clear or you have any questions about the materials you need or the construction of the garment, as well as any questions about using a pdf pattern you can contact a member of the customer service team and they will advise you. I wish I had read all their negative feedback before ordering.
They MIS-ADVERTISED the yarn and I was sent the wrong one - their mistake - no refund!
After sales is appalling and they really dont seem bothered
Never again would I deal with this company

I do understand your frustration about the fact that this has not been dealt with properly and I want to extend my sincerest apologies for this negative experience. It is our mistake that the yarn was advertised as 5-ply when the label states 4-ply, and it is our responsibility to correct it. I have issued a full refund for the yarn in your order on January 11th and have sent a request for the yarn information to be corrected on the website. We are always ready to rectify any issues which may arise with orders and I am sorry we did not live up to our standards in this case. I really like the yarn I order from this site
I have placed two orders that went really well
I am still waiting for my 3rd one, I have placed it 10 days ago
The delivery company they use is such a struggle to deal with, really hard to contact and get an answer from
Tracking details are not updated, and when they do put an ETA, they keep changing it
The price of the delivery would let you expect that they use a professional delivery company, but no, they use Hermes
Also, Loveknitting doesn't do any commercial gesture to compensate for the delays
Really disappointed and now looking for another website to order from

We are thinking of adding different options for delivery to the website so your feedback is important, so that Hermes is not set to default, but rather you will be able to choose among a couple of services for delivery.
Our usual delivery takes 4 - 7 (for the US) and 2-3 (for the UK) business days, so your order should have definitely arrived by now. We are always ready to replace or refund your order in case your parcel is not with you within the estimated delivery time-frames. Could you please let me know your order number or e-mail so we could sort that out for you?

I used to love loveknitting and like the other reviewers I spent $1000s with them over the last 7 years, raved about them to whoever would listen, built a stash of wool that filled a wardrobe, and referred them to everyone who was remotely interested in knitting. Now you just really annoy me as like the other reviewers I too have noticed prices have increased, thresholds for free delivery increased, delivery times extended, no tracking updates, discounts limited to full price wool, sale periods incredibly short so that if you have a query it's too late to order and if you have an error in your order you cannot get it fixed before shipping! In fact I don't even know why you bother to reply as it often takes a week or more to reply. You have sent me wrong orders and I have had to lug bags of wool to the post office to post back to you without any compensation for my efforts to go out of my way and spend 30-45 mins of my day to sort out your errors. The cost of postage from Australia was higher than the value of the wool! You've asked me to carry the cost of posting back a cable worth $2.50 before you would refund me for misinforming me about the product. With such a significant change in your business model I can only surmise it is a change in your strategy to either make more money by reducing costs and increasing revenue or you are struggling. Either way you will fail if the reviews are anything to go by as we and i suspect many more of your unhappy customers are either looking or found better places to buy. I am also one of them. Sick of finding buying wool annoying, i am going to rediscover the joy by finding another supplier. Please don't insult my intelligence by replying to this with one of your many overused excuses. I've read the others and I think I've heard them all. The one where it says it's the code's fault is the funniest. I will, however, give your buyer credit, great wool selection and colours. Shame I have to find them elsewhere now.

I ordered some wool, at bottom of loveknitting page said was in Aus Dollars but was charged in US dollars (another $60 Aus Dollars) got in contact but was told account went through their US store. Buyer BEWARE

Received a new customer discount code from my friend and went to use it. Chose my yarn which was on sale and the discount wouldn't work. It's didn't sit well with me, because a "new customer discount" is very different than a "discount on top of a sale" (which I wasn't seeking). So I emailed this to the company:

"new customer here... referred by a friend. I go to purchase a pack of yarn... and apparently I can't use the discount because it's on sale? Oy vay. Not a good start. :("

And got this response:

--I'm afraid only one offer can be used at a time, so your discount code will only work against items that are not included in any other sale or promotion. You can view the terms and conditions of our discount codes here https://help.loveknitting.com/hc/en-us/articles/*******707-Are-there-any-exclusions-for-my-discount-code-. If you only have non-sale items in your basket please do let me know and I will investigate further.--

Felt to me like a 'sorry not sorry' response and placing blame on their terms and conditions. Seriously... telling a new customer they can't use their new customer discount unless they pay full price? Gonna take my business elsewhere where a new customer discount really IS a discount.

I am very sorry to hear that your first impression about our company was not as pleasant as we have hoped.
We do have a 15% discount welcome code that can be used by our lovely new customers.
However, each code has its own rules and conditions and all our codes have the standard exclusions:
- Orders using gift cards as payment methods
- Orders under a certain threshold, usually £10
- Any promotional items, including multi-buy deals & sale items
- Downloadable patterns
- Scheepjes brand products
- Lana Grossa brand products
The items that are on sale are already discounted and we just cannot add another discount to them.
If all the items in the first orders happen to be exclusions, then the welcome code can be used on the next purchase.

A company that started fine but is getting worse but every day in terms of communication and responsibility for orders. My last order was placed on 13 January, the money was drawn from my account the following day! And for a week nothing happened. The order was closed by mistake by Love knitting employee - because she believed (?!) that I wanted so. Believe in the church and not in the deal - a good company do CONFIRM with the customer if the customer WANTS to cancel the order. Do not just believe that customer wants it. Now I have been offered a 20% discount if I want to order something from them? Do you think I will take a chance to order something other than what I wanted from the beginning? What I wanted is now sold out and not coming back... and why will I take a chans to "lock" my money, like $ 150 for a week in a bank for the company that neither answers or deliver goods? And that's after I've spent about $ 2,000 last year to buy yarn from them. You offer me 20% of the yarn that I do not want after you have canceled my order because you THOUGHTI wanted to cancel? The Internet is big... - I will constantly give opinion on all sides about the level of service you have. I actually got really hurt by your treatment of my case. I am angry and sad to the marrow of my bones... your e-mails and "I feel sorry that it happened," will not deliver Noro ball of yarn I ordered, paid and not received...

I ordered over $100 worth of wool to make a blanket, so i picked some wool i believe i picked acrylic but the company said this was incorrect and that i had picked cotton fair enough i only have the invoice to go from. Regardless i will never know but i dont like using cotton so it would have been a big mistake for me to make. That was the first error second was that the page that i ordered of said that the BALL size was 500g and i was buying a pack so i believed that would be more than enough with the 3 packs i ordered, but it turns out that was the pack size the ball size was 50g and looking at most of the pages they all have the pack size and not the ball size so be careful with that. Then we get to the real fun part seems that if you return the wool with in 14 days you can get a postage refund only problem with that is i am in Australia and not only did it take over 2 weeks to get to me but it cost me $67 to return it to the company no refund on that from them i did however get $45 back from paypal the blessing that they are. So be very careful when ordering from this site

All the information about the order is stored in the account section and we can provide the invoice/receipt via email at any time. Moreover, an order confirmation email is automatically sent after every purchase so that the customer could double check all the details.
We have many products on our website and every product's page has the description and all the necessary details, including Ball Weight section. If you have any questions or concerns, you can always contact our support team via email, live chat or phone.
Please let me clarify the situation with the returns and refunds.
You may return new and unused products within thirty days of delivery for a full refund of the cost of the goods only, but you will be liable for the costs of shipping the goods to us. We will not refund original postage costs as well as the return postage cost. However, you have 14 calendar days upon receiving any goods to cancel your order. In all cases of cancellation, the notification to us must be made in writing (e-mail counts as in writing) within 14 calendar days of you receiving the goods and should include the order number and details of the claim.

I just placed an order 2/11/18 and have not received any e-mails about my order. My order says complete and shipped but no e-mail confirmation of either. Tried the number and it cant be connected? E-mailed customer service and just got auto reply. Feeling really nervous that I wont see the 9 skeins of yarn.
On their website it says:
All parcels from our US warehouse will be sent tracked, and you should receive your tracking ID on your dispatch confirmation email.

If your parcel is shipped from our UK warehouse, then unfortunately your order will not have tracking.

If you need help with your tracking, please contact us.
I cant get a hold of them and have not gotten an e-mail with my shipping tracking info. Just order limbo right now.

Wanted to add an edit.
Customer service e-mailed me today and apologized that my shipment had not arrived yet, they also mentioned that shipments from England to US take about 10 business days. Which that is fine with me. I just would have liked an e-mail confirming my order was placed and approximately when I can expect it to arrive. Ill keep you all posted when my yarn arrives! Changed the stars to 3.

Changed my review to 5 stars. Great priced yarn, slight wait for arrival. I definitely suggest using PayPal so you have documentation of the order, unless you have a printer. Once I got over the panic of not receiving the e-mail confirmation this felt better. It helped to get reassurance from Loveknitting customer service that my order would arrive in about 10 days.
Very happy with my order!

Your order was posted with Royal Mail and tracking is unfortunately not part of the standard service. Most of our parcels arrive within 3 - 5 business days but they can take a little longer if they are held for inspection at customs. I see that Sarah has requested you get in touch if your parcel has not arrived in a few days and we will arrange for a replacement to be sent. I do hope that your yarns are with you soon so that you can get started on your project.

Fool me once...

I have placed orders with LoveKnitting before and was mostly satisfied. On one occasion I was shorted a skein of yarn, from a very large order, and the response from customer service was quick and the result satisfying.

This experience has been less than satisfying (understatement)! I ordered 6 skeins of Paintbox Sock Yarn. What arrived was 6 skeins of Sarasota Cascade yarn. I did not receive a prompt response to my email so caught someone in the chat to resolve the problem. What I wanted = the yarn I ordered ASAP so I can use it for some Xmas gifts. I requested expedited shipping and even agreed to pay for it. I was initially told maybe they would pay 1/2 the cost. Later, via email, I was told they couldn't send it expedited because my original order was not shipped that way. WHAT? My original order was not for 6 skeins of Sarasota Cascade yarn either but apparently that part doesn't matter.

They sent me a return address label and said my money would be refunded when they received the product back. They claim they have reordered my yarn and it should ship within 24 hours using standard shipping.

For my trouble they said the would give me 15% off on my next order. I replied saying that they are making an assumption that I am actually going to order from them again and per my calculation 15% of my average order came out to almost the amount it would cost the to ship my order expedited. No reply to that email.

I'm not sure how they reordered my yarn without charging me for it since they will not issue a refund until they receive their return. I guess we'll see what happens.

Sadly I believe this is the only place to order Paintbox Yarn.

As I can see Anastasia has arranged a replacement for this order right away after having a chat with you for the correct yarn and has provided you with a return label for the incorrect goods, but she wasn't clear about it in her communication with you.
