Bought a Lorex system to replace my aging but perfect old system. Thought all was fine until I read an article to actually "comb" through all footage. WOW! System missed many events. Lorex got involved and after many, many, hours, replacement of cameras, system still misses events. Talked to their best tech (Vitaliy). Last thing he said this system does not have enough "horse power" and was only an entry system. Rep online says to keep talking to Vitaliy while he says there is nothing he can do. If you want to keep your family safe, especially in these dangerous times, buy another brand like I have to do now. I have no choice now but to sell discount Lorex system to buy a Supercircuits system. My old system was Supercircuits and never missed 1 event while not catching every snowflake. I have poured so much time into this product only to end up with a lemon.
Bought 2 systems then they discontinued the computer software after spending $3000. 00 on camera's and recorders. When you call them they make you feel like it is your fault. Very disappointed with systems will never buy again from this company.
Lorex will not help me even after several attempts to resolve my issue!
When I updated my review, I received an email from the Lorex Senior Retention & Feedback Manager. The manager stated to me in the email, "Right off the bat, you should understand that I am not Customer or Technical Support (I'm sure you've had your fill with those two departments) but more of a standalone department that oversees special cases. It's easier to see me more as Human Support than anything else. I'm really sorry you had to go through all this crap just for me to come across your case. I'm going to take a look to see why our tea, didn't resolve this ordeal and, more importantly, could close the issue in a few emails".
Mr. Senior Retention & Feedback Manager, I have sent you multiple emails asking you to get back to me, and you have not! Just as the Customer and Technical Support Teams have lied to me, YOU have also lied to me by not returning my emails. Do you remember telling me in the same email, "Let's start there- I promise the finish line is just ahead. I'm always around, Cheers,"?
I did receive two calls recently from the Lorex Technical Support Team. The person on the phone both times said the phone number so fast you could not pick up all ten digits. I even sent an email back to the Senior Retention & Feedback Manager explaining this, and you guessed it, He has not responded.
No wonder the Customer Service and Technical Support team does not provide customer service when their leadership does not provide customer services and lies to the customers.
Again, save your money and buy a different security camera system. I have six cameras that will not work since Lorex last upgraded their system, and they have failed to help me even with a five-year warranty that I purchased to protect my cameras.

Support is beyond terrible. Spent 1.25 hours on phone to determine wrong wifi receiver shipped and needed a 6 camera receiver. Then days later get email requiring serial #, model # etc. 3 follow up calls & told correct receiver would be shipped. Then get email saying case on hold due to lack of troubleshooting. Now have wasted over 3 hours on support and told I need to waste more. WORST EVER!
Returned a recalled monitor in September 2019. They received on October 1,2019. The recall information said I would get a check for $150 in several weeks. I have called numerous times and got a bunch of bull. It is now January 2020 and still no money but a lot of BULL. This company is the absolute worst. They will always get back to you, but they don't.
I'm not sure what the problem is with this company. I've reached out to them numerous times to try to add a camera to an existing system. When I ask them if the camera I'm looking at is compatible with my my existing system they just send out a generic e-mail acknowledging that I'm looking to add this camera and suggest I call customer service. They can't or won't answer my question on-line which is hugely frustrating. Calling customer service is an agonizing process, you can expect to be placed on hold for 20+ minutes. I suspect the company is managed by engineers who have no sense of customers needs or desires. I had to update my operating system as well which was beyond painful. I had to reprogram my system, which is at a remote location. But wait, there's more: after a 25 minute wait I finally talked to somebody who told me that camera I want to add to my system (approximately 2 years old) is out of stock and no longer sold and no other camera's are compatible with my system. This is a load of crap. This system was cheap. Now I'm stuck with a system that Lorex no longer supports.
During the summer of 2019, while I was at my summer home, Lorex forced a firmware update to all of its customers machines. What this did was break the users ability to monitor their own systems. They forced people to switch to a phone app for access. This, essentially, cut off my ability to monitor my property remotely, as well as turned off my cloud recording. They did this with less than a weeks notice. I am no longer able to use my system the way it was intended. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS NEEDED!
I have a Flir FX wireless security system for some lake property. It was not the highest quality cameras, but it worked good with the app. Then in August Lorex announced it would no longer support the system. We have not had a security system at the lake since then and have been working with Lorex to get a replacement. They initially sent us inferior replacement cameras that were trash. They agreed to take them back and provide us with a $120 credit per camera with which we could purchase any other Lorex camera. It took forever to get them to receive the return cameras and provide us with the credit. We then put in our order and we have been waiting a month for them to ship the cameras. They are not on back order. After many frustrating phone calls, they finally prepared a shipping label with a tracking number - that was 2 weeks ago - they still have not delivered the package to UPS. My case has been escalated many times with supervisor reviews. I have been told so many lies. Here it is 4 months since they shut down my security system, and I still do not have replacement cameras. It is obvious they do not intend to honor their word. Do not buy from them. They are probably filing bankruptcy at this moment. They do not intend to send me the cameras. Don't know what else to say.
I have had my system for two years. Lorex will no longer sell me additional cameras. Forcing me to buy a new system. Nor, do they post my review on their webpage. The reason for denying the sale of a camera was, "contracts with Costco, and other companies prevent us". I searched the third party vendors and they don't sell my product.
The new app works ok, yet play back needs many improvements.
I purchased 2 cameras that I was told they would work in South America and it didn't. I called many times and they extended the customer service until I passed the return window
And guess what? I was never able to return the cameras. I even talked to the manager who had a middle eastern accent and was the rudest person on earth. This cameras are made in China, do not
Waste your money or buy them a lot cheaper from a Chinese website. Horrible company.

I bought a wireless camera system about 3 years ago. It's ran by battery's only, that is one of the problems. It seems like I have to change the battery at least once a week on each one and there are six cameras. The system came with one extra battery, which is ok, but the battery takes a long time to charge. Which brings to me my biggest gripe. I decided to purchase extra batteries, I went to their website and the batteries I needed did not have a price or a place to select it for purchase, thereby I called them. I gave them the model number on the battery and they sent me the batteries, well they were the wrong batteries. Now I am trying to send it back for a refunded. I went back and forth on the phone and emails and was finally successful after about a month of going back and for the phone. When I was finally approved for the return, they said UPS would send me the return shipping label, well that was wrong. I went back and forth about the shipping label issue for a week. I called UPS and I was told they don't email shipping label and that it was Lorex who are suppose to send me the labels. Again, Lorex customer service was adamant that UPS will email me the labels. I finally decided to try the chat on line and they were able to email me the labels.
I never could reach Lorex tech support easily, they are not professional, the answering phone is very slow u have to wait a couple hours to get represetive, never had enough knowledge to answer my questions, totally disappointed of this company
Lorex decided to delete the Lorex net HD stratus app. I now cannot view my cameras from mobile device. I've had an open ticket for this problem for several months now with ZERO support. I paid $1700 for this substandard system. Beware.

Cant get through to customer service. Finally got through and thought I had a resolve but lorax dropped the ball. 2 months in and still no replacement DVR. Was told their update crashed 50,000 plus dvrs. They even sent it in an email. See attached.
Hours on hold and many emails yet still no closer to finding the answer to my system not working. Have new LOREX system to replace, but sending it back because the customer support is worthless
I bought the Lorex Flix FX camera in 2018. Initially bought one but the camera worked so well I bought another for the back of my house.
The product would've received 4 stars but these get knocked down to only one star due to poor customer service.
In August the company changed the software and promised that they would send free camera replacements that will support the new software.
This means my cameras are now redundant and I was told to wait for the new cameras to be shipped from America and it would take 4 weeks. No sign of the camera a month later and when I chased they promised new dates for the cameras to be delivered and those dates have come and gone. When I chased customer services I was told they will give me a tracking number when cameras are dispatched and no tracking number was sent.
This conversation has been repeated several times over email, web chat and the telephone since August. Always the end of the week' and never any updates.
I'm extremely disappointed as I invested in these cameras to protect my home for them then to be unusable a year later. I would prefer if I was told I will not be getting the cameras so I can cut my loses and purchase another set of cameras.
An action which I will be doing as almost 3 months without security is beyond a joke.
I sincerely hope others read this review and take into consideration the poor customer service once you have purchased your item.
I'm sure I will receive a genetic response below from the company about how they sorry they are but it shouldn't take a poor review to force them to take action.
And reading the other reviews I don't hold out much hope for receiving the new cameras
Lorex dropped the monitoring software and rendered 4 of my cameras obsolete. None of the cameras Lorex is offering to replace those are inferior in terms of resolution and features. Lorex has offered to refund me but no actions on their part for now over one month, they keep bouncing me around. Be warned. They do not honor their product nor promises
Horrible support and customer service. Since Lorex discontinued the use of Lorex secure app, I am no longer able to view my cameras in ultra high definition. The Lorex cloud app only shows a much lower resolution. I was so pleased with the old app. Why, oh, why did they have to try to fix something that was not broken. I will never buy their products again.
Answer: DO NOT call Lorex Customer Support. You will only be shocked by the absolutely horrible support that you get.
