I'm a parent. Observing how the system algorithm is implemented with tons of errors and bugs, it is the worst platform I have seen. I can't help to ask who designed this platform? I am a geek in technology and super involved in education and learning platforms. Why would US schools be using this? IXL, Beast Academy, Khan Academy, etc. are WAY WAY WAY better than this platform.

My opinion on I-Ready
February 19, 2022

My teacher makes my class do at least 6 I-ready lessons a week, and it takes at least 40 minutes to complete each tutorial. The tutorial is so so so much longer than the actual quiz. The reading i-ready isn't all so bad as the math lessons, but the reading I-ready lessons are all the same. I-ready makes us restart the entire dam thing if you get 50% or lower! I am in 5-6th grade and I have been doing I-ready for years. My grades have been lowered just because of my I-ready scores? I added another star since the reading lessons are pretty short. Plus, they won't even let me add photos in this review.

Made me want to die
March 29, 2023

The lessons were so boring and made me want to kill myself. When you didnt pass a lesson, you would have to redo the whole thing over again which made me want to jump off the empire state building. Should only be used as a form of torture to people instead of the death penalty. Would rate in the negatives, but i cant. 100% do not use fail your class instead.

I-Ready is pretty bad. I mean, who wants to do 30-minute lessons that are legit the same exact question over and over but with different numbers? I know I don't. And I don't think anybody else does either. The only thing that I actually kind of like about I-Ready is the diagnostic is pretty easy, and there are games throughout. And it provides a good kind of scale for your score.

Not good at all
May 10, 2023

I'm a 7th grader and have been doing I-ready for multiple years. It's extremely bad.
Starting from last year, I have finished all the reading lessons for it. I have not learned anything at all. Each lesson feels like the same thing over and over and is hurts my brain to the most extreme degree. The lesson themself are also brain-hurting. Some of them are just way too long and make me want to get every question wrong, just so I could get it over with. It's slightly tolerable, but math I-ready on the other hand...

It's horrible. I hate it so much.
1. The lessons are so so so slow and feel like they go on forever.
2. Dialogue is just unbearable, the jokes are horrible and unfunny.
3. You can't skip anything and it takes way too long to end.
4. You get like 3 questions wrong and you have to go through everything all over again.
5. You don't learn anything, by the end you just feel worn out
6. I hate it so much and would not recommend to anyone at all

The animations in the middle of each question takes way to long. So, I recommend making a thing where it lets you skip the animations. Though I still think that Iready can be pretty helpful.

Ruined my whole life
March 11, 2024

I ready goes on and on it feels like it never ends. It does not help me learn anything because it doesn't even go over the answers. All the people in my class are ready and we are trying to get our teacher to stop using. It I do not recommend it

I-ready 1/5
September 6, 2022

Teaching: 1/5
This site teaches in such a boring and slow way. If the lessons aren't entertaining, students won't learn a single thing. Plus the lessons are really slow.
Diagnostic 1/5: This is the WORST part of I-Ready. It is so boring and draining. The worst part is that when you're done, it doesn't show you your score and what questions you missed. That creates stress for students as they don't know whether they did good or bad.

I-Ready in general just sucks. It's time consuming, repetitive, and boring and long! The whole process is really tiresome, and as a 5th grader, I think it's just a bunch of trash (and I've thought this since 2nd grade). I would highly recommend something like Reflex Math, or Khan Academy. I-Ready is nothing as close as unique, the style is seriously outdated, and I just despise the way they talk! I guess the creators had an idea back in 1996 to make them 'cool', but everything is really nothing unique or amazing, and the only fun thing (which are the mini games) cost fake tokens you get from completing lessons. Oh, the lessons. They are a pain in the butt to deal with, and they are so long and tiring, you die from boredom trying to complete them. So please, for your mental health and your enthusiasm for learning, avoid this "leArnING" website at any cost!

As a student
October 5, 2022

As a students, this is one of the worst learning websites ever! 99.99% of the time you will be board. You can't learn if you're board and I will NEVER suggest this to teachers, unless they want to make their class
Miserable

Not Fun,Not Engaging
September 17, 2023

Students hate it, and its just more homework for everyone including parents. Now school systems are adding it to their curriculum. This product is just making everyone more depressed don't buy this. They don't even try to make it more engaging and fun. To students it's just another boring test.

Human trash
January 26, 2023

This is possibly the most stressful thing for any modern day student. First of all it trys to have the diagnostic. Which 1 to 2 days of anxiety of not being able to turn it in, isnt learning for students. In my views, this most possibly is the worst option possible, there are constant errors with grammar, answers etc. just go use khan academy for all i care, at least it handles it better.

I hate it.
February 9, 2022

Hi. 6th grader here, and im here to tell you why this is a awful website. Its boring, and nothing is good. The lessons take forever, and if you score low, you have to do it all over again. It takes three mistakes to make you start over. Would not recommend with your kids. The characters are cringy and awful and I have never learned anything from iready. Why cant we just stick to class lectures?

I have had to use I-Ready for schoolwork, and I have never found it fun, encouraging, or ever learned something from it. The diagnostic tests that you have to take are stressful, and most of the time, just make your self esteem lower. More times than not, I have had to read passages from the 1700's and 1800's, which I feel is very impractical for students in Elementary School or Middle School. The lessons themselves don't do very good of a job of ensuring that you will remember anything that it has taught. I have always thought that the "long lessons" in which featured the characters talking more than teaching. Any teacher of mine that I have asked why we did this has always said that they don't know, and how it is pointless. I do not recomend using I-Ready.

Why i ready is bad
October 5, 2023

I-Ready causes stress for students and does not teach anything to students, is a big waste of time and has no benefits. It can cause hours of time to get past the tutorial of 1 lesson. Not to mention, usually teachers assign at least 5 lessons of I-Ready a week. Also thats only one teacher imagine reading and math teachers assign 5 lessons each due at the end of the week, there just isn't enough time. With all this time students will not have time for extracurricular activities like sports. We have to remove I-Ready to take off all of these negative effects from students.

Everybody hates it...
March 24, 2022

I'm sorry iReady, but you suck at "FUN". You need to work harder and have way more fun activities like cool math. All of my teachers and peers HATE iReady for they even said it themselves. It teaches us nothing and is a waste of students' time and they either already learned about that subject.

Do Not Use.
March 23, 2023

Iready is not something to assign, whether you're a teacher or a homeschool parent. It does not teach and tries too hard to be relatable. If you get a single question wrong it brings you down to an 86. Another one and you're at a 67. Another one, you fail. The voices are very obnoxious and the problems make no sense. It does not give you the formula of what you're doing, so i don't understand why it brands itself as an educational program when it actually doesnt teach jack. Don't use this, it causes burnout depression and anxiety. Even ixl is better, and it takes off 6-10 points for an incorrect answer and gives 1-3 points for a correct one. Just use Khan Academy if you have to.

I am a 7th grade student who's school enforces I-ready. Some lessons are easy and I finish them in around 5 minutes. But the other ones are TERRIBLE! They feature these crappy annoying terribly drawn characters who sound like they recorded their voice in a microwave. They are annoying and they drone on and on for 30 minutes straight! I like to do my I-Ready quick and just speed through it. I-Ready treats me like I'm in second grade. It talks for 10 minutes straight about what a "stanza" is. It acts like I am a toddler again. Schools still use this even after all these terrible reviews. Never use I-Ready.
