I am a merchant. It is absolute a rip off, I would never ever recommend it to any business. I believed this sales person like an idiot, she was really good in selling me this trash.
The website refuses refunds when the merchants didn't honour their end of the deal. I would suggest look for discounts elsewhere. They took ages to respond and their response was pretty much oops too bad for YOU. Never will I ever again purchase anything
I purchased a restaurant voucher for $15 which was to provide me $30 in value when redeemed at the chosen restaurant. The restaurant, Cafe Creole Caribbean Spice in Port Charlotte, FL refused the voucher. I contacted LocalFlavor via their voicemail system three times over two weeks. It took them ten days before they responded via email. I requested their customer service call me to discuss my issue and was refused. During the multiple voicemails I left on their automated answering service, I described my problem using the restaurant voucher they had sold me. I told them the restaurant had refused to accept the voucher. The LocalFlavor representative, Jackie K wrote me telling me that some restaurants are struggling due to covid-19 and that they may not be able to honor the voucher. During the back and forth emails I exchanged with Jackie K, she told me the restaurant can do whatever they want and that LocalFlavor has no responsibility in the matter. When I responded that I wanted a credit, exchange, or refund I got the cold shoulder. I was told my claim was made after the 14 day warranty limit after purchase (it had been 18 days). I asked to have a manager or supervisor call me many times and never got a call. Instead, I finally received a generic email from Michelle F, Sr. Consumer Loyalty Coordinator, telling me I should either use the voucher or just gift it to someone. Is this Loyalty Coordinator in touch with reality? How can I use or gift a voucher the restaurant rejected? LocalFlavor sold me a worthless, unusable certificate and will not take any responsibility for it. They will not refund my $15 or exchange it for another voucher. LocalFlavor is still knowingly selling restaurant vouchers to The Café Creole Caribbean Spice.
I had bought 3 certificates. After the update they disappeared and there is no way to talk with anyone. You have to leave a message. I have left 3 and they still will not do anything. My husband lost his certificate, too. Local Flavor is just outright taking money and don't resolve any issues when your certificates just disappear!
I have been a loyal customer for years and have purchased many certificates for Gianfranco Restaurant located in Bedford, NY. I called them directly to see if they would accept them for "take out only orders" during this pandemic and was told "no". I am seriously concerned about dining indoors and this restaurant does not offer outdoor seating. I was not asking for a refund, simply for them to honor my certificates. Most of us are facing financial struggles. During this unprecedented time it's so important to unite as a community and be sensitive and empathetic towards others. I'm terribly disappointed with the feedback received. It's highly unlikely I would recommend this restaurant based on their uncaring response. LocalFlavors SHAME ON YOU for not supporting or defending the needs and concerns of your customers. No one could have predicted this quarantine. When health is concerned, exceptions should clearly be considered. Let this lie on your conscience.
Local Flavor continues to sell certificates for local businesses that are no longer in existence. When I tried to contact the customer service number, I get a only a recorded message. My next call will be to the California Attorney General's office. This is called fraud. Buyers beware of this company.
I purchased many restaurant certificates with a 6 month shelf life. Two weeks later Illinois closed all inside dine restaurants because of covid. They did not reopen until 6/26 so I lost 2 - 3 months to redeem. I have asked for a 60 day extension, but was declined. Fraud and false advertusing
Bought a certificate for a restaurant. The food was inedible and we got ill. Used the certificate the same day purchased and called to receive a credit or refund. They flatly refused. Griupon is so much better
I bought 2 vouchers for a business I go to fairly often. Well I went yesterday and they must have lost all their employees due to covid and had to hire others because my order was wrong after waiting an extra 10 minutes. I asked local flavor if I could exchange the other voucher and they won't let me. I will never buy another voucher now.
Terrible customer service
Stay away from this company
Would not credit me for a business that is closed due to covid
I purchased two certificates for a local restaurant, but cannot use them, since me and my wife are considered "compromised" and cannot dine in. Our certificates say for dine in only. We asked if we could therefore apply the certificates to take out. The owner refused, telling us to speak with LocalFlavor, they should return your money. I've contacted LocalFlavor multiple times and have received the same canned rejection note each time. They are only interested in making money and not their customers.
At a time when companies and people are banding together to help each other, LocalFlavor is showing it's true colors. What a horrible example of greed and terrible customer service.
They extended the expiration dates of restaurants by 6 months but the problem is this virus will still be a hidden monster then. I'd assume half of us Americans will not step into a restaurant till a vaccine comes out. I wrote to them asking if they will refund my money or allow it to take out, they will do neither. When I bought this I did not expect a deadly virus was going to hit the world like this, I assume by law they can't expect us to put our life on the line to redeem this and should give us our money back. So many companies are doing the right thing and helping people during this time, this company. LOL they are asking you to go into the fire.
I purchased 2 localflavor certificates ($182) for a show at a Dinner Theatre place. My original theater date was for March 13,2019. That show was rescheduled Due to Covid19 virus. The theatre has since the closed and will be until furthur notice. I sent localflavor an email asking it my certificate expiration date would be extended due to the theatre being closed, their response was NO. I sent them another email asking if I would be recieving a refund and again their answer was NO. So how is this possible that they can keep my money and not provide the service I paid for. The dinner theatre has stated that they are not affiliated with localflavor(they are 3rd party) and therefore they are unable to do anything for me
They refused to extend a certificate to lego land even though it has been closed due to the Corona Virus for over a month! Stay away!
I ran a coupon for my business in 2018. I have a documented agreement of ONLY (1) ad which was valued at $885.00. To this date they are still running 50% off coupons for my company, and collecting the revenue. There have been over $1600. 00 in Coupons sold by them, and counting. No one will respond to our calls or emails. I would tell you not to purchase from them but if something isn't selling they just pay Groupon to sell their coupons!
If I could give negative stars I would! This company is a SCAM! They advertised certificates for my business WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT! They STOLE money from my business! DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!
My husband and I have used Local flavor to try new restaurants for years and were always satisfied... they offered a large selection of restaurants to choose from and th ecustomer service was fine. Not so much anymore! By the time the coupon book comes in the mail, all of the best coupons are gone on line and... even worse there are so few restaurants to choose from that we have started to look elsewhere for a better choice. We've tried checking the box that is supposed to alert us that there is a new coupon for a restaurant we are interest in trying, but that never happens... TOO BAD... this was a good magazine and website when it was owned by the original group.
Don't buy the certificates for papa johns. You can't combine these certificates with ANY special they are running. Can only use with regular prices items. Not worth it.
I bought 2 coupons. The first restaurant said they quit selling their coupons 6 months ago even though Local flavor continues to sell them. The other restaurant had been closed for months. Totally worthless.
DO NOT PURCHASE A LOCALFLAVOR CERTIFICATE. LOCALFLAVOR IS NOT REPUTABLE, DOESN'T HONOR CONTRACTS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Purchased a certificate but vendor wouldn't honor it because LocalFlavor has not paid vendor in accordance with terms of contract. Requested refund but LocalFlavor says to go back to vendor and demand the vendor accept the coupon.
Answer: Unfortunately it looks like their customer support is shut down or closed with no answers. I had to go to my bank to reject the transaction and get my bank to refund our money for the invalid certificates.
Answer: The number they have is bs as the whole company is. Most merchants say they were tricked and claim they get nothing. This is why merchants often are refusing these vouchers also. Have fun trying to get refund on anything. They were decent early in but not now. Stay clear of anything with these guys...
