Langocity

The checkout system allowed me to pay for a course without registration. Then I received an email confirmation saying I had to login to download my course even though I hadn't registered.

Having registered and logged in, no course was available to download and my course was still in my shop cart indicating no purchase had taken place, even though my card had been charged.

I complained via the customer services area and got a sarcastic response and they then emailed a PDF with a link to download the course.

Upon download I discovered it was no the course I ordered, i. E. a different language.

This is a professional looking site but appears to be a scam.

Unlike the other review, my experience with langocity.com was great. The site was easy to use, easy to find things, and I was able to checkout with no problems. Within a couple of minutes of checking out, I was able to download a chinese course. I was going to purchase it in book and cassette format from the foreign service printing service for several hundred dollars until I came across Langocity. They've digitized everything and I was able to get the same course in an easier to use format for $200 less. Even my pre sales questions were answered quickly. Couldn't be happier.

I bought the Luganda course & am very disappointed. First, the Text and Audio are totally separate. I could not find the Text for the lessons; only the very long write-up on how to use the course. Eventually I went back to the website for support and found a statement there about how to access the Text lessons. There is glitch in the program. Once I was able to access the text, I found that the end of each line was missing--about 3-5 characters. I submitted a ticket for help, and was told that they couldn't reproduce the problem I was having and called the "case resolved." So far my experience has been very frustrating. Luganda is a tough language and there are not many choices for those of us who want to learn it, but this course is clearly for linguists, not for ordinary people, and the customer support is non-existent.

I ordered the Luganda Language lesson and have been ripped off.

The 'Social Network' component hasn't had an active member since October 2010 rendering it useless and more importantly I found EXACTLY the same text and audio lessons for FREE on this site.

It is word for word the course I paid for.
It is also very suspicious that all the review and complaint sites that seem to pop up for Langocity are controlled by the site itself.

Dont get fooled like I did!
