Crap
June 28, 2024
Updated review

We loved it last summer 2023 but they've changed it to you only get 20 minutes to play each day and with 5 people and 2 young children we don't get our 2 free games we get 1 and a half. Plus it does not say anything about the change on there web page which I would consider to be false advertising. I have definitely wasted my money on this this summer 😡 I just screenshot these to prove the false advertising I think this program should be sewed and I'm gonna look into it for sure.

We never were able to go cause they do it on specific days that we are busy, very dissapointing cause I registered for both kids and adults both and didn't get to go once.

I tried again this summer for kids bowl Free and it was going on from 9am-4pm M-F I was not able to take the kids daily because of shoe rental prices and typically I would get drinks for me and the kids and spend an extra $5 at the arcade afterwards, but I was eventually able to get 2 pair of used bowling shoes which cut the cost of rentals. So we went once a week. It's still expensive but the kids and I looked forward to going that one time per week.

Scam
August 2, 2024

Beware if Kids Bowl Free. This is a layer that independently owned and operated bowling alleys choose to participate as a marketing gimmick that tricks the "member" into purchasing a "Family Plan". I'm sure this is great for the family that has full flexibility in their scheduless and are dedicated to bowling. We are not. After I paid on then made a reservation at the bowling alley that is part of Kids Bowl Free and I was charged and additional $150 on top of the $145 fee charged by Kids Bowl "Free". I immediately called the bowling establishment and they said they have nothing to do with Kids Bowl Free and couldn't help me. I have researched the KBF company and they are located in Marco Island, FL. Beware! I will never use Family Plan as you can't make reservations and we all work so it would be impossible for us to just "show up" and a weekend night and get in. This is most unprofessional marketing I have ever witnessed. Our family is OUT!

Alright
July 9, 2024

We thought we could have a night bowling without the kids since we paid for the family rate but apparently that's not allowed. Our kids have lost interest with bowling. Maybe next time we'll take random kids bowling under our family membership lol

I signed my child up for Kids Bowl Free. I chose the Windsor/Loveland location at Main Event. When I took him bowling they were adding extra charges for lane and shoes. Ends up being over $10 per visit per hour per child. I was very upset about this and spoke with the manager who just didn't care at all and told me I would have to pay the fees everything. This is for families that are unable to afford a summer activity for their child. Takes advantage of low income families.

This is a wonderful program for kids for the summer. However they rely on participants for advertising under the guise of "drawings to win prizes". They then do not have any of said drawings but have gained participants and advertising for free from customers. When emailed and asked about the situation multiple times why have failed to respond. Poor business practice.

Great program!
August 1, 2017

WE thoroughly enjoy this program! Unlike when I was a kid, bowling has gotten expensive for a family. You get your money back the first time you use it. I'm not sure why some say they are being charged shoe rental when they have their own shoes. They do not do that at our lanes. That is an issue with the alley, not Kids Bowl Free. And BTW, it says right on the coupon that shoe rental is not included so what's the beef? I love this program, and will keep using it!

LOVE this program
May 12, 2018

We have used this program for about three years now. This is the first year we have used it every week. The shoe rental for us is $2.50 a pair and they do not charge if you have your own. Always an inexpensive outing on a hot/boring day. Our bowling ally also has great vending machines and great AC.

Not worth it!
July 11, 2017

Got the Kids Bowl Free for me two kids and paid the extra $24.95 for the adult pass. The first time the kids and I went, we found out at the end that there was an $11 charge for our three pair of shoes - almost $4 each. I don't remember seeing anything about the fact that "free" did not actually mean free. I feel like I got duped. Unless you have your own bowling shoes or already plan on bowling a lot, this is not worth it!

I don't understand what everyone is $#*!ing about? Giving 1 stars. Has anyone ever really brought 3 kids to a bowling alley, bowled 2 games and left without spending $65 - $75 dollars for one outting. So this is the second year my kids have gone. I pay $27 for the whole family for a whole summer and they can bowl everyday if they want and all I have to do is pay for shoe rental. WOW! That's a great deal! Still want to save some money? Eat before you go, try to avoid the arcade, and just get the kids some drinks. Unfortunately most of these places won't let you bring in food or drinks. This year my kids bowl once or twice a week and know the drill. They are getting better and better each time we go out. Also recently found out that they give lots of scholarship for bowling. If they get good enough, I might end up saving some $$$ on tuition if I'm lucky. Give it a try and if you don't bowl you don't have to pay for the adults, just the shoe rental. A small price to pay.

Not worth it
August 1, 2022

This use to be a great program but now it's not even worth it. They tell you it's 2 free games a day and that's not true. You can only go on certain days and between certain times. Which because it's only a couple days a week, you end up racing to get a lane and hoping to be able to bowl. They really went downhill with this program and we will not be participating again. Not worth our time.

Although the site says that certain bowling alleys participate that is not true. When I tried to sign up it took weeks before they got back to me that the bowling center near me (although it is posted as a participating site) doesn't participate. That was it, so I asked if I could choose another and was told "Just let me know the center name, city and state you want to change to, and I can change this for you. Keep in mind this is a one time change." Those were the exact words. It really didn't make any sense to me to continue with this process seeing as how I could (and most likely would) choose another site that also wasn't participating. Maybe this works out for other people but not for me and the customer service is really lacking, the have a very whatever attitude.

I would rather pay than keep going through this process

Generally this has been a great program. However the coronavirus pandemic has thrown schedules in disarray. I requested a refund of the family pass I purchased, even sent a screenshot of the confirmation of the purchase with the transaction number, and yet their representative still claims not to be able to find it. Combing the internet but still I have been unable to locate an accurate phone number.

www.kidsbowlfree.com is part of the AMF Bowling Lanes family. The website and summer prgram are for real! You register your kids with your (Parent) email address and you get emails/coupons/codes for free bowling games.

The site advertises -- and fulfills! -- 2 free games of bowling each day during the summer. The nice thing is you also get lots of coupons and specials during the rest of the year. Now, realize that 2 free games of bowling does not include shoe rental. Other specials include a set price for all you can bowl during a set period of time, discounts on birthday parties, food/bowling packages, etc.

This was a really great thing when my kids were smaller and we needed indoor things to do! Of course the caveat is you have to have an AMF Bowling alley around you!

I've restarted my phone as well as closing out the app then going back in2 it w/no success.
Bcuz of this I had 2 pay 21 for my son's 2 bowl 2 games instead of the 9 so I'm never gonna use this site again

Tarheel Lanes in Hendersonville NC is charging a shoe rental fee of $4 per person even if you have your own shoes. I bought a Family Pass for $30 and I still have to pay on top of that and we have our own shoes. It is cheaper to go bowling without the Kids Bowl Free deal.

If you buy inexpensive bowling shoes for the kids and adults on Ebay or Craig's List, it makes this deal really worth it. Don't buy expensive shoes because the kids will out grow them by next year.

Shoes are not included at all in any of the packages.

The 2 Free Games for the Kids is a great deal for people to do stuff with the kids.

There is optional charge you $24.95 for up to 4 Adults that can get 2 Free Games a Day. This is also a good deal if you wish to bowl with your kids.

However, they do not tell you until after your purchase that you can not use the Adult Free Games unless your kids are with you and using there Free Games at the same time.

KidsBowlFree.com also has very bad customer service if you ask them any questions about the offer.

My bowling center told me that they do not get any of the $24.95 from the Family plan. I submitted a help ticket and just asked where the money goes.

Instead of responding like any good business would saying that the money either goes for advertising, paying people to support the program, or even owners of the site. (All of these which I would not have a problem with)

Instead they simply refused to say where your payment of $24.95 goes. Refusing to disclose even in a simple statement where the money goes seems to be a very shady practice, even for a business that can do good for the community.

No matter how good a deal is, I will not sponsor any business that will not tell me where the money is going. I never want to feel like my money may have went to some mob, gang, or terrorist organization using kids as a cover to collect the money. I am not saying that KidsBowlFree.com is any of the above, but they do refuse to let people know where the money goes.

DO NOT BUY THE FACEBOOK ADVERTISEMENT. Not only will you NOT be informed when it starts and have to ask a lot of questions because it is terribly explained, but you won't even SEE IT! The "report" you get is completely vague and backed by ZERO data. RUN YOUR OWN FACEBOOK AD IF YOU WANT IT TO PERFORM!

Otherwise the program itself is great, but the bowling centers do not NEED KBF, we can give away free bowling without and the program is losing value for poor service.

This deal is a huge rip-off. We couldn't even use it once because of all of the restrictions. It is not a "deal"... just a way to get people into the business. No class!
