I should have done more research! I ordered $200 worth of plants and the first bag arrived after about a month, right in time for planting. There was a substitution of a red plant for a pink I ordered, but whatever... The "bag 2 of 2" never arrived. I contacted customer service by email, and received a response after 3 messages. They asked for info I had already included, delaying their response by a day each time, and never addressed the incorrect plant sent. Then they said bag #2 would be sent out when they have the plants. It took another month to get the 2nd bag and it had a wrong plant in it! They sent me two of the same plant, and not the most expensive one that had been ordered. Customer service was not helpful and said I had to return the incorrect plant, at my expense, to get my money back. Horrible company, horrible customer service. Lesson learned!
Order Trees and bulbs. Receive crushed trees and dried up bulbs stuffed in a plastic bag. Everything is dead. Requested a replacement and got a back of forth paper trail. Nothing but a waste of time and money. You will have more luck ordering the Coronavirus through them.
The plants we ordered were poorly packaged, took 10 days to get to us and were dead when they got here
This nursery does not know how to package and ship plants so they will arrive alive
I placed an order for plants over a month ago and did not receive it. I tried calling them. The line is always busy. They did take my money though!
I ordered a Eucalyptus plant last year that arrived dead. The replacement plant this year arrived all dried up and dead. They will not replace the plant without my spending postage to send back the original shipping label
Received dead twigs and dry roots in plastic containers that were crushed and unsealed in a padded bag. I planted since I trusted the company to send viable plants. After a week and even LESS possibility of them looking alive I tried to call telco on web site and got fast busy signal and couldn't get thru n next sent email to company from my personal email account AS WELL AS THEIR COMPANY WEBSITE requesting replacement or refund. NO REPLY. A month later got through to a customer service manager who told me I only had 14 days to get a refund. Just sent certified letter with the shipping label so they would give me a credit for the $67 I spent. Surely won't be using it on any "live" plant reorders... if I even get it, signed a very dissatisfied Master Gardener
I just received the 5 hostas I ordered from Kelly Nurseries. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. They were scrawny roots. I liked what I saw in the catalogue. They were not particularly cheap, for $5 a plant more I could have gotten a hosta from the local nursery that was 100 times better.
Received dead tiny twigs and tiny dried out roots. You must return immediately with label to get refund. I was told this when I called. I decided to wait all summer to see if anything would take. One small plant for my $90!
I placed an order for plants. I got plants and immediately potted them and they didn't grow. Contacted them and did their laborious process to get replacements. I received and immediately potted the plants. They rotted and didn't live. Under the circumstances i did not want replacements and asked for a credit. They refused to which to issue credit. Will let them have their BLOOD money but won't everyone to know how lousy they are.
I made the mistake of giving Kelly Nurseries the benefit of the doubt. The tree I ordered was smaller than a pencil & never showed signs of life. I wrote to customer service & they sent me a tree of a completely different species. They run a scam of making you keep the label from your original packing material or they won't honor their warranty. They pack plants in a plastic bag which the mail carrier folded into thirds & stuffed into my mailbox. Half the plants were yellow or dried out because the dirt had fallen out of the unsealed pots & later died. There is absolutely no dedication to serving the customers best interest. Buy local & get better quality for the same or lower prices.
I should have checked reviews before I ordered. I placed an order SPECIFICALLY for one item -- they sent a substitution, then told me I could send mail label back for the correct item - WHICH MIGHT NOT COME UNTIL NEXT YEAR! They also STILL HAVE THE ITEM I WANTED LISTED ON THEIR WEB SITE. I call that fraud. CINDY in customer service IS FLAT-out NASTY. Before I had even begun to express my unhappiness with their MO, she said "IF YOU WOULD JUST CALM DOWN Ma'am... SHE DOES NOT BELONG IN THIS JOB. I will never order again, and NEITHER SHOULD YOU!
Placed an order with Kelly Nursery. Plants arrived in a red plastic bag - all dead. My wife called customer service for instructions as to how to return plants for a refund. The representative was rude and condescending, at one point asking her sarcastically if she knew "what dormancy is." When I called to express my concern about the way my wife was treated, I was told that our order had never been looked into. The supervisor did not seem too concerned when I told her that I wouldn't be doing business with them again. Plants returned. Only hope they will send the refund.
So, great prices lured me in. Long delay in shipping product, okay. I emailed them asking about the long delay, in a couple days I received the product and another day or two received an email reply answering my question. No notice of actual shipment. The product arrived but shipped very slow usps. (no company should use the postal system for live trees/plant)... product arrived in a plastic bag, with no protection from other USPS boxes, they were partially loose and bouncing around. The vines and one lilac had loose dirt, the rest were bare root and obviously dead, not dormant... two of about 14 plants showed some possibility of life. I did not try their returns option, as i am sure the next ones will be the same.
I wish I was aware of all the NEGATIVE reviews before I purchased plants from Kelly Nurseries. My order (6 Ajuga, 1 Fantasy Monarda) arrived SIX WEEKS before my zone. The entire order arrived in disgusting condition, NONE of the plants were alive, fell out of their little 2" corrugated holders, the bareroot Monarda was in pieces, wasn't even a root bound plant. I called immediately to report all of the above. I was instructed to send a letter with all the specific detailed information as explained above with order number, my name address, and include the original shipping label which I did the very next day. Today (4-17-17), I receive a little slip of paper telling me I did not follow complaint instructions and that because it was more than 14 days, I could not receive a refund. I did mention in my letter that if the same method and type of product was to be replaced, I DID NOT want that, I did then request a credit/refund. I am soooo furious with this little slip of paper that conveniently arrived beyond the 14 days. I called just now... very, very, rude and non-helpful individual named Cindy who actually hung up on me argued that I have to do any further contact in writing only; they do not discuss any matters over the phone, everything has to be done in writing. I have never been treated so unprofessionally and rudely. THEY TOOK MY MONEY and now will not service their Customer. I hope everybody gets to read this BEFORE you consider buying from Kelly Nurseries. They are insulting to the mail order business and obviously I will never do business with them again.
After reading other reviews, I'm glad they didn't process my order! Burgess seed is a sister company? Wow. Burgess seeds sends only junk plants that are mostly dead.
So, I placed a decent sized order here. About a week later, y debit card was hacked and the card had to be closed. These guys never said a word to me. I finally got with them to ask about my order, and they said, the card was declined so they canceled.
Well, Thanks for nothing! I refused to place another order, Figured if they didn't care, I didn't care. But... Whew! Looks like it was better for me. I'll go somewhere I can get healthy plants.
Thanks other reviews for letting me know you pay good money for dead plants!
The few things I got were in horrible condition. They substituted a plant for something completely different than what I ordered. Contacted them they said in FinePrint they can substitute what they want. It wasn't similar it wasn't close had to go through credit card company to get my money back
