I was looking for a photographer to take maternity pictures for me and my wife and they were way too expensive. Luckily we had a good camera that took a little bit of learning and with some extra gear from KEH I was able to take good quality pictures myself and save almost 80% more money that paying a photographer

I've been a customer of KEH for about 30 years. It's always been a good experience, and the items I've bought have been as expected or better. This time not quite perfect, as I bought a camera body in bargain condition as I have in the past. I know what to expect appearance wise, but this time there was a part missing. The plastic eyepiece frame was missing, and having to wear eyeglasses to use the camera made it hard to put the camera to my eye without worrying about scratching my glasses. I guess I didn't realize that bargain condition meant that parts would be missing that were originally on the camera. No big deal, I ordered one from a seller on eBay. The camera works great though, so overall I'm happy with my purchase.

First time using KEH and I am familiar with other large big name camera stores.
I have been in the photography industry for 18+ years and I find it worthless to buy new gear when lightly used gear works exactly the same and quite honestly - sometimes works smoother than a brand new lens.

I purchased a film camera at Bargain quality (Olympus OM-1) and have been very happy with the condition it was received in, although I have yet to run a film through the camera. There was a small piece missing (motor drive cover) which I suppose is why it was designated 'bargain'.

Also purchased a very cheap lens (under $5) defined as 'Ugly' just to get an idea of what standards I can expect from an 'Ugly' lens. Honestly, I'm pretty surprised. I can live with the 'Character' this ugly little SOB has in it.

I wish the rating system would actually be more descriptive about the state of tge lenses. Functionality is good, but the internal optics are full of dust 1mm + in size. Images are full of blurry spots. For a $2000 purchase, it would be nice to have either a heads up or better yet is have KEH perform some cleanup before selling. The rest of the buying experience was fine. I did call customer service to inquire about the quality rating system but they just put me on hold while i was describing my concerns and let the call drop. So not impressed there. This was my first time buying from KEH… I'll be thinking twice before trying again.

The shipping was a disaster on this order, though I know it is not the fault of you guys. First Fed Ex said it would be here on April 5. It was not. I called on April 7, and they said someone would call me back. Nobody ever did, and I started getting texts about how if I don't "find" it by April 10 to call you guys and start a "lost item procedure." On April 10, I called again and someone said they would call back. Never did and I started getting more texts about lost items. Then I got a text telling me it was at the Walgreens, where I asked them to deliver it but I still got texts about a "lost item." The lens I got was as advertised and in better shape than I expected for a bargain item but the shipping sucked. Again, I realize it is not your fault.

I ordered a lens on 01-16-2024 and paid an extra $29,95 for expedited 2nd day delivery. I received the lens on 01-25-2024, 9 days later. KEH should refund the $29.95 for 2nd day air services. I spoke to a customer service representative about 7 days into the delay and was treated to a patronizing, don't give a damn attitude. The KEH representative said she would follow-up with FedEx and let me know when I could expect delivery, Never heard back from KEH. I will no longer purchase anything from this company.

Searching for, finding, and purchasing my item went wonderfully well. I found the selection to be top notch and the lens I ended up receiving is wonderful. The only complaint is that I made a specific request in the "notes" section of my order that provided my front door code and the instructions to leave the package by my apartment unit door INSIDE the building. The package was left outside on the sidewalk. Fortunately, I received an immediate update that it had been delivered, so I was able to quickly retrieve my package sitting on the steps outdoors.
