I decided to get my wedding ring cleaned because the opal in my ring was getting cloudy and discolored. I was told that getting my ring cleaned or adjusted would be free of charge. I received a phone call from Kay jewelers that the company Levion said that fixing the stone was not covered because of the damage. My husband and I thought it was strange because it looked just cloudy to us. When my ring came back in I saw a giant crack in the stone that was not there before. They said it was like that already after they cleaned it. They said it was going to cost over $300 to replace the stone that was supposedly already damaged. I felt like they were trying to extort money from me. I believed it was damaged while they had it in their possession.

I purchased a Disney necklace in the Coco collection. The first time I wore the necklace it broke. I wore the necklace while driving. It was not under any stress. I just looked down and the necklace was broken- I'm lucky the charm was not lost. I went to Kay's in Longview TX and spoke with Brady McFarlin. He told me the necklace was not made for durability. I was shocked he said that to me. I think he did not want to help me because it was not gold but sterling silver. He said it was just made to look pretty…his words.

Sells junk
November 4, 2022

Bought a $400 ring had it resized for $100 wore it 3 times had to have it fixed I was told not to wear it so much didn't know 3 times was alot. So I put it away got it out for a special occasion and the onyx popped out its $400 to have it fixed! That's ridiculous. Customer service was a joke lady even asked me if I read the reviews of the ring when I got it when i got it there was none so I looked out of curiosity and it's a bunch of people haveing the same issue as me! Sounds like poor quality over priced junk. So I have a $500 piece of junk! I'd of had better luck throwing my money into a river!

Feel Cheated
December 11, 2020

BUYER BEWARE... totally disappointed with the purchase I made on-line. The ring looks nothing like the picture on line. I had the ring personalized and the lettering is extremely tiny and not noticeable on the ring. The ring band is very thin which doesn't appear that way on line. VERY DISAPPOINTED! My review rating for this product is ZERO; but since that option isn't available I have no choice but to give it a one star rating.

Unprofessional creditor
January 15, 2020

I am going to have to give community credit for Kay jewelers a one star I would give them less if I could. They are a very unprofessional creditor. I have numerous credit cards in my wallet from target to Walmart and every one of them have sent me a letter letting me know that my card has been in active too long and that I need to use it or they will close the account. Due to the fact that I only use my credit cards for larger purchases. Well Community Credit for Kay jewelers doesn't do that they just think that it is OK to close your card without informing you whatsoever. How unprofessional of a company or a bank to let a cardholder go in and try to purchase a product and be denied when you are in good standing. I mean how embarrassing to the cardholder to be denied in front of your family and other people in the store. Especially if it's due to inactivity and not late payments or something negative. I believe they have lost a great customer that would have purchased many things in the future but since they are unwilling to reopen my account without running my credit again they have lost me as a customer. My family is in the process of refinancing our home and a hard pull on my credit for Kay Jewelers would be damaging to our refinancing. I will no longer buy anything from Kay jewelers I will not recommend Kay jewelers to anybody and in fact I will tell people to stay away from getting any type of credit through that company.

Online order
January 9, 2023

I have had a very disappointing experience with Kay Jewelers I ordered a ring for my wife for Christmas on November 22nd and it was supposed to be delivered December 8th I never got a shipping confirmations tracking number or anything I have contacted them at least a half dozen or more times they have specialist supposedly looking into it but they're making hardly any attempt to keep me in the loop not to mention the fact that it's not only past Christmas it's past my wife's birthday I can't even use it for that my wife really wants this ring but it seems like for some reason they are dropping the ball big time and not getting this to me I am so annoyed and frustrated with them but they have done has been so totally unacceptable I would at this point advise everyone to avoid ordering anything through Kay Jewelers

Crappy quality jewelry
August 11, 2022

Kay has the worst quality jewelry you can buy I have bought four chains from Kay Jewelers and have to have take every one back more than once and still have not gotten the right results although I had it under warranty is still makes no sense to have to constantly take jewelry back to get fixed the quality of the jewelry is ridiculous and the prices are too high for that they offered me an exchange and would not even take $20 off of something that was just $20 more I advise anyone that wants to go to Kay Jewelers to think twice do not go to Kay Jewelers their jewelry is crappy

Don't waste your time
February 19, 2019

I stopped in my local store to buy a ring for my daughter that I'd seen in an ad on IG. Knowing exactly what I wanted, I pointed it out and said I need the ring in a size 5. To my surprise, they didn't have it in any other size than what was in the case, and to get the size I wanted was going to be a charge of $15. $15 MORE for a brand new ring, making the price not at all what they advertise. Mind you, I wasn't spending hundreds of dollars on a ring. This was a Sterling Silver ring for Valentine's Day. So the add'l fee for "sizing" brought the price right back up to the regular price and not the sale price advertised. I consider this false advertisement. No where did it state the sale was only good if you happen to be lucky enough to fit the ONE size available in the store. To make matters worse, I went into the website and emailed the company my concern. I received some generic reply that did not even come close to addressing the situation. Therefore I replied back telling them that they didn't really answer my question. To that I got another reply, the SAME thing word for word. Obviously the same reply anyone and everyone else gets. WOW. What customer service. HUGE DISSAPPOINTMENT and I won't be back.

Had to cancel my online order because they claim that no one can pick it up. They wouldn't even accept a proxy and copies of one or several IDs and would just not help AT ALL. HORRIBLE. BEWARE!

On 4/23/22 I went to the Kay Jewelers in the Westfarms mall in CT with my then fiancé to do some ring shopping. We found a wedding and engagement set she really liked, I bought it with the lifetime warranty, and they were sent out for sizing. Two weeks later the rings came back in, I picked them up, and things seemed to be fine. Shortly afterwards I found out my "fiancé" was cheating on me and leaving me for the other guy. I became suicidal and was put in the hospital on 5/25/22 to 6/8. I went to return the rings on 6/9 because I didn't want to look at them and I wanted to get back the money I wasted. I was told that they could not be returned because it was over 30 days and they would make no exceptions despite my situation. I was in no state of mind to be thinking about return policies in the sliver of time I would have been able to make the return so I tried calling corporate to see if I could find some compassion for my situation. It took a week of trying but sadly Kay has no compassion to be found and am now stuck with having to exchange it for another item that will still have terrible memories attached to it. My only consolation was that I was able to get corporate to allow me to exchange the rings for the amount I have paid, rather than keeping me on the hook for the 4k$ I still owed on them too. I do have to wait for the manager to return to the store and, with my experience so far, I doubt things will go smoothly. Even if they do I'll be left with some sort of jewelry that only reminds me of this terrible event and will have to try to sell it to recoup a fraction of my losses.

In short, do not buy from Kay Jewelers, they don't care about you.
