They refused to pay claims that occurred during our contract with them after we told them we would not renew for the next year. Would not take my calls, would not answer any questions. Left us in a mess. Had to pay health insurance claims directly from our checking. I can't believe they can do whatever they want and we have no recourse. Very unethical company.
As a health care provider their only concern is whom they can take money from. Their business model is disfuctional. It takes forever for them to post claims and when they do they don't cover the entire amount leaving the insured fighting with healthcare provider. Never use this company
No one will accept this insurance in my area. We were told to send paper work for doctors visits were insurance not accepted. Well we filled out the paper work (just what I love to do when paying a company 400 dollars a month for insurance) and its been 3 weeks now. So called they claim never received the paper work. Ha okay. Now not only out 400 dollars a month now out money I paid for doctors visits. What a joke. Thank god our employer dropped this company after a month and going back to our previous provider. Try and cut corners and you get $#*!.
It took 59 minutes to get a prior authorization for a prescription. They wanted me to fax the relevant parts of the chart, which would take over 3 hours. When I tried to fax just 16 pages, they stopped me after 4. They would only approve 1 month for the medication, expecting me to call every month. We faxed the 16 pages one at a time. What a nightmare!
This insurance has a lengthy exclusions list and very few providers in my area have ever heard of them let alone accept them. I was told my children could keep their pediatrician only to be connected by the doctor's office 1 week before my toddlers well child visit that had been scheduled for months that the insurance wasn't accepted. All after getting clearance from JP Farley to make the appointment. Claims are denying and I'll keep fighting! This insurance is a joke!
I had J. P. Farley 4 years ago when my son was born. They wouldn't add him in until we gave them the birth certificate AND his social security card. Everyone told us that would take 40-60 days. I called them every Wednesday from my son's birth till we got the documents to try to get him in and make sure he was covered. Constantly told it would be fine. Finally got the papers 50 days later and they refused to cover him for the entire year. He was born in April. And on top of that the kept insisting to the hospital that I was covered so we got the hiked up bill they normally send to insurance. Plus we had to cover all of his first year vaccinations out of pocket ($4500) even though it would have cost them practically nothing. I have only just now paid off the messed up medical bills. I would love to sue them for all they have if a lawyer thinks I have a case. They shouldn't be in business if they are going to screw over the people that pay them.
JPFarley has decided that they will only pay 150% of the rates medicate pay, but this is without any agreement from the hospitals. So they pay a small portion leaving you battling with the hospital for the balance. They state they have a resolution policy but it is a joke, the hospitals will not resolve the open balances and you get stuck hoping for a settlement, which you end up paying. You are told by the attorneys that JPF will not pay anymore towards the claim. Hospitals are now refusing to see patients with this insurance.
I would suggest going elsewhere for your health insurance needs your better off going on welfare, horrible, Too bad I can't rate zero for a star rating
If you want to have a job and not be held accountable for your mistakes and not take care of your customers, this is a perfect place to work!
Answer: Their employees aren't trained to do prior authorizations.
