Seemed to be an IRS affiliated site. THEY ARE NOT. Takes two seconds for them to copy and paste your info into IRS.gov and they make bank. Some rich prick getting richer off of sketchy "real feel" website design. Wish I would have done more research.
I am livid! They scammed my dad (senior citizen) by pretending to be the official IRS site, copying color scheme etc. There are class action lawsuits in Florida about this scummy behavior. DO NOT USE. They will charge hundreds for what is a FREE IRS service. The "product" offered has no value. It's not faster or more secure... quite the opposite... slower and data is exposed. It's nothing but a scam aimed at people who think they're paying the IRS. Filed numerous complaints and will be contacting the US government. Taking precautions against identity theft.
Scam! They're Charging To Do A Free Service! Yesterday, when trying to apply for an EIN, I'd Googled to find out what to do. First site that appeared was irs-ein-tax-id.com. When visiting the site, their first disclosure makes it sound as if they're a contracted agency. Working off the fact of how badly people want to start their own business through these times, they set up their scam perfectly. First initial charge is $250. They then sent an email stating "File your EIN now and take advantage of the tax credits available to Sole Proprietors and save $85.00." This made things seriously sound like a break. Then upon visiting, they'd even set another discount to charge $160. Later, after finding out I needed an LLC instead, I checked the official IRS site. This was when I'd learned this is a free service. When I reviewed their site, this company waits until the disclaimer to mention their not affiliated, and wrote it in dark lettering, to draw your attention away. After doing more research, I found out that they also charge different prices to people in the scheme to Reel people in! When I requested a refund, and also spoke on how they charge different prices to others, they refused to do so, or even comment on pricing. Also they said "immediate use." There's a 2 to 3wk wait! Beware and please read this!

I was up late taking care of necessary steps for formatting my small business. I ended up needlessly paying $250, because I wasn't paying attention. The site is set up to deceive you, making you believe it's the IRS. Again, my fault for not paying attention, but learn from me, You DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR AN "EIN" NUMBER FROM THE IRS!
Don't get fooled like I did because I wasn't paying attention and actually paid them for something I could get for free. They have quite the site and you think you are on the IRS site! Crooks!
This company charges $249 to create an EIN. You can create an EIN very easily for free on the IRS website and get your number within 5-10 minutes. Do not use this website.
They try to look like the IRS and charge $329.00 for a service the IRS does for free. They did provide me with a legit EIN but what a fool I was...
Answer: Scam! Definitely a scam. They make sure they keep contacting you to play on the fact of your needs.
