Great recruiting tool
March 31, 2016

Indeed is an excellent resource to recruit new hires. My only complaint is the low functionality of the website. It's very basic, but I suppose you can get the job done.

If you're looking for a job online, you've come to the wrong place. I have been trying indeed.com for months now and have yet to even fill out an application! When you click on a job to apply it never loads, and if it does load it will crash shortly after. Come to indeed.com looking for a job, leave with a headache. Its as simple as that.

Employers Beware!
March 25, 2016

I posted a job on indeed some i did and another national ad with help of their representatives. Between the two we had over 2200 views and 60 resumes. This job was for a very specific trade skilled position, Required 2 years experience and very specific in job heading and body. I used Indeeds template and they approved. None of these applicants were remotely qualified. I sent out a rejection email basically saying I didnt appreciate them applying for a job they were not qualified for and wasting my time and money and if they couldn't read the job heading maybe they needed to stop their search. Guess it was a little to the point but these applicants must think this is free. For days my business has been attacked with bogus negative online reviews showing the applicants name along with their FB friends. Vulgar emails, threats and even a phone call. Indeed has declined any responsibility because they dont monitor their applicants, they have no policy to deal with it nor do they care to. If you have had this experience please email me at *******@ymail.com

I have been given the run around by customer service for days now. They will not return phone calls and refuse to be of any assistance. They are only allowing our ads to run in their sponsored section but not in the general advertising area under our newest account. I only discovered this because of the poor results we are receiving. We have 3 other companies under different accounts that we have been running ads in the sponsored and general ad sections with great results. Since they refuse to help with this one account I am pulling all 4 accounts and refuse to ever do business with them again.

Hi Craig, we’re sorry to hear that your experience with Indeed has been negative. We submitted your account details to the Indeed Search Quality team and they determined that the type of opportunities you are offering, free cell-phone distributor positions, are not suitable for the free search results section on Indeed. To mediate this, we have applied $100 of free clicks to your account to offer you help with sponsoring your jobs on Indeed. If there is anything else we can do to help here, please reach out to us directly at sitejabber@indeed.com.

I have been advertising a number of openings with Indeed with some success for about a year until 2 days ago when I noticed I hadn't received any applications. When I logged into my account, I cannot find any of my job postings.
When I contact their online chat, this is the response I got 'It looks like you have a dedicated representative who could best assist. He isn't available right now however, I will get in contact with him so he can reach out to you.'
When I asked when this representative (who I have never heard from before) will be in touch, I am informed 'We are coming to the end of the day and your representative is already finished for the weekend, so you should hear from him first thing Monday'.
So I am waiting with bated breath to hear what the story is with my job postings.
I will update this review at that point.

IN RESPONSE TO THEIR ANSWER: We are in 14 cities that all hire for the same position. That is why there are duplicate posts! Also we are not door to door sales... false information and they didn't even try to confirm that with us. Poor business practices!

I have been recruiting with the same company for over 10 years. We have been using Indeed for about 4 and now have been blacklisted FOR NO REASON.

We are a 30 million dollar company in 14 cities and Indeed told me we were posting jobs that were not real! How can that be if we have grown over 300% in 2 years! We spend about 6K-10K a month on their job board and this is the thanks I get. I have never felt our company was doing anything wrong until Indeed felt it necessary to blacklist us.

I have spoke with multiple managers and they avoid my questions and avoid telling me what is really going on. They said it was a decision from their "quality control" who I can't speak to or write an email to. They also stated it is our of their control and there is nothing they can do. I even went as far as finding other companies just like ours and sending over their ads and examples to show that what I am doing is normal and I should not be the only person blacklisted.

I have never dealt with anything like this in all of my professional career as a recruiter. They say that something is wrong with our company but yet don't help us fix it or even a simple warning.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM Indeed, you will give them all your hard earned money and POOF blacklisted FOREVER.

Hello Jacquie, sorry for your poor experience with Indeed and that we did not communicate to you the reason for the jobs not being shown. After reviewing your account, our Search Quality team determined that the positions were not suitable for Indeed as they were door to door sales opportunities and oftentimes multiple jobs were being posted in the same locations for the same job. We do not support door to door sales jobs or duplicate jobs on Indeed, and for this reason we have disabled the account moving forward. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

I have to put up with Indeed.com searching for prospective employees every day. It is an exercise in futility. They literally recirculate the SAME resumes everyday! I keep looking at resumes I have been forced to look at daily, usually poor resumes. They refuse to allow employers to remove crummy resumes, thus they keep coming up. If the candidate updates the resume, then Indeed allows them to post it like it is new in most cases. Indeed's system is so shoddy I waste dozens of hours each month. Poor site, don't use it.

We are a small business in North Jersey. We employ 4-7 people depending on the season. We posted job posting on indeed for two new hires. After a week of searching we could still not find our post.

When we called the support staff on the phone we kept getting different reasons why our listing was not appearing on the site. They asked us to verify business (which we did). Then they asked that we rewrite the listing (which we did). Then they asked us for taxation information (which we provided). Then they suggested that we expand the geographic location for the job (which we did). After two weeks and all that work the posting still was not appearing. It became apparent to us that the staff was simply giving us canned responses of things to try because they did not have a clue of why the listing was not showing up. All they were interested in were the promotion fees to feature the job. Otherwise it did not matter enough to solve the problem.

After searching on the web we realized that we were not the only small business with similar problems of ghost listings (job posts that don't appear in the search result). Indeed appears to only promote services and posters that make it the most money. Small locally owned businesses are not in that category. If you do post on the site you will get very little exposure even when paying the promotional fee of $20-$30 per day!

indeed.com is just another fancy packaged website that takes users money and gives them nothing but aggravations in return. Save yourself the money and the time. Avoid indeed.com job site.

After having our Social Team review the account here further, we were able to find additional verifiable information online and reinstated the employer's account. We reached out to the employer to notify them that we've re-enabled the position within the account and that they would be able to use Indeed moving forward.

There's no way of requesting feedback from employers using when applying for jobs straight from the indeed app. I've been applying for a long time now and not once have I heard anything back, although I've been very well suited to the jobs I apply for.
I'd like to know where I'm going wrong to not be seen for an interview, and there is no other way to track any progress.
I'm going to stop using indeed unless I know that my application is actually getting through and seen. I have no faith in this site now.

This company randomly charges you money whenever they want with no real responses. I set up an ad with a specific end date. My ad was no longer available after my week long campaign but the company ended up charging me for two months and I never received one qualified candidate from their site. I have never written a review for something before but this experience and losing out on $150 has compelled me to do so. If it will stop at least 1 person from using their bs site then it will be worth my time.

Dear Indeed,

Can you please answer as to why you are bullying people into paying for ads that should be free.?

Can you please answer as to why you have ceased responding to Cares agency. They have not breached ANY of your conditions. Yet you are still forcing them to pay for ads.

Are you aware of the rules and laws governing fair trade and advertising (competition).

It dose not seem you do. If you did, you would know that by uing such tactics, your are breaking UK consumer law!

Can you please publically respond either to this post or the review Cares has yet again updated. Give reasons why you are breaking the law. I'm sure EVERYONE reading this and more would like to know.

NOTE FOR EVERYONE WHO WAS FORCED TO PAY... YOUR LEGALLY ENTITLED TO YOUR MONEY BACK AS IT WAS OBTAINED ILLEGALLY.! Get in touch for more info...

Update - Dear Indeed,

Your response to our review. Yes, you re-enabled the account, but as you said, for sponsorship ads only. You have failed to communicate to the employer as to why., They have not contravened any of your terms and conditions when it comes to posting free ads.

You informed them that it was because they were not advertising to employ people for their own company, this is completely false. They are posting ads to employ people direct., If you would kindly point out to the public so we are all aware... where dose it say on their ads that they are recruiting for other people. I believe their ad says, " recruiting care staff for upcoming agency placements in our clients homes. OUR AGENCY OFFERS...'

I Capitalised the second part of their ad, as it clearly says their agency. As an agency, they employ people directly onto their books. Pay them through THEIR PAYE system. The fact they go out to work IN not FOR the clients homes is part of the job role advertised.!

You really cant expect that excuse to stand up when you get investigated. Trading standards, Office of Fair Trade, Office of Consumer Rights, and their own legal complaint against you for bullying and extortion.

All because you fail to play by the rules and laws set out.

So please, give us all a real answer...

We reviewed this account after the client provided us with verification information. Our Search Quality team re-enabled it with Sponsored Only visibility on Indeed due to the types of positions being advertised. We also offered a credit towards sponsored job clicks in the amount of £50 which was rejected by the client.

I had some issues with Indeed the last month as I couldn`t post a job with them. However, after posting in this site Dorit, Indeed representative, contacted me immediately and I found out that It was a mismatch -posting a job in another state and using Indeed USA. After posting the job in the correct indeed everything was fine and job was posted in 1 hour.
Overall very happy with a quick feedback and resolving the problem.

Had my company account open for over 3 years, getting pretty good results. Stopped using for a spell... came back on and my ad was suspended along with my account without any notification from indeed. Called in and they said they needed to verify account with utility bill and ein number. I provided all the information and they closed the account. Said they wouldn't give reason because it would compromise their review process. What the heck! I've been in business in the same location for over 36 years with a no complaints. Why indeed gods? Why? And of the last 10 applicants i paid to view, 7 responded and set appointment and one actually showed. Not so great.

Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.

I have been using Indeed for a LOOOONG time now and at first you think its great. I received lots of applicants and thought it was the bee's knee's... Now after REALLY looking at the billing process I am appalled. I have found NUMEROUS incidents where the same people applied for the same position, which means I am getting charged twice! PLUS, most of the applicants I get are not even close to what I am looking for (Ex. A Janitor that applies for my Marketing Coordinator position) I PAY FOR THAT?!. I have talked with my account manager, Michael, who can't give me any real answers. I also notice that they are using my Feb. Budget to pay for 1/2 of January's and now for some reason, for the first time ever, They said they have eaten up my entire $1,200.00 and its only the 22nd. I am going elsewhere and I would suggest the same to other potential or current clients.

Really creepy. I used Indeed as a job search tool but maybe a year or two ago - around when the Japanese company took over - it started getting really creepy with these easy apply buttons. I would see a job then check with the company and the company would say they aren't hiring for that job. Some of the companies I couldn't even find or they seemed like scammy type businesses that might have been shells. So where is my data going? Then more and more blind listings would appear. I don't even trust they are real jobs. But if you actually try to respond - THEN you get these really troubling questions like where do you live - do you live in so and so city? And how much do you earn? I then cancel. If it is a real job I am losing out and the employer is missing out on a perfect candidate because of this creep factor. I have also gotten questions with my daily email of jobs based on my resume asking me how much I earned at each job listed. I spent hours trying to find someone at indeed to take down my resume which I never permitted them to keep anyway only to be told they can't find any record of it. I feel like this is still a decent search engine but you have to check out each job first and never use the easy apply for a blind listing or any job where indeed is hiding the actual email or contact information they are supposed to be forwarding the resume to and never answer those additional questions. It is like they are fishing to do a profile on you. Very creepy. And that probably explains why some companies are getting lousy candidates - nobody smart will be applying this way. You have to guard your privacy. The only reason I am giving 2-3 stars is because it still puts together a decent list of jobs but you have to click each one and do your own research because you can't trust it being legit.

Hello, sorry for the negative experience. Some employers on Indeed ask application questions related to location to make sure they are getting candidates in their area. When adding your resume to Indeed, we provide the option to leave a company review on past companies you have worked for, as well as salary information to help other job seekers looking at these companies get a sense of what the salary would be. This information is not required in order to upload a resume on Indeed. If there is anything we can do to help, please feel free to email us at sitejabber@indeed.com. Thank you.

As an Employer I posted jobs with success for about 6 months. After that I noticed I wasn't getting any applicants. After doing a little searching I realized my jobs were not even being posted. They were literally getting zero views and I could not find them on the list of jobs posted. Odd, I said.

I contacted their customer service and after taking a ton of my business info to "verify" me... not sure why they needed to all of a sudden after 6 months... it worked again... until next time I posted a job and same thing. No views. Not found on list. This time no reply from "customer service". I'm thinking this is their way of forcing you to pay for their $#*! service.

They've probably sold my personal info by now.

No thanks. Stay away!

Avoid its a SCAM!
February 12, 2016

Im an employer trying to place an add and come to find you have to pay per click on your add. The more you pay keeps your add more visible. So. 25 cents per click is the cheapest, but your way down on the pages of adds. Or you could pay $1.25 per click and be at the top of the add pages. Am i the only one who sees a huge problem with this. There is no regulations on who clicks an add. Anyone who is anybody can click on your add and you have to pay for it. So Mike who just got fired from his diswashing job decides he wants a new career and has no expierence wants to see what my add is about and I have to pay for it. Or not to mention the millions who are unemployment and required by the state to actively look for a job they just send out bogus resumes willy nilly to keep their weekly check coming and i have to pay for it! This is outrageous! No thank you Indeed you should be ashamed of yourselves.
