As the world's #1 job site, with over 180 million unique visitors every month from over 50 different countries, Indeed has become the catalyst for putting the world to work. Indeed is intensely passionate about delivering the right fit for every hire. Indeed helps companies of all sizes hire the best talent and offers the best opportunity for job seekers to get hired.
Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 979 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 131st among Recruiting sites.
We needed a couple of urgent positions filled, so took an hour to set up our location and search resumes. They offered a free 3 day trial. I set up the first job posting and left it in limbo while I went to put our company card on file to finish the free trial.
Before I even got a chance to do that, our business account was disabled for no apparent reason for a job posting that broke their ToS. Except, we never posted it yet. It was still in edit mode and remained unsubmitted.
It is evident to me that they want your account to be suspended during the free trial in order to squeeze you into buying the service. That method won't work for me, as we will take our business elsewhere and won't look back.
I posted an appeal and got an auto response that said the appeal was denied and no further details would be given as to why. Check out my screenshot.
I set it up with our legitimate company information per their requirements. Plain ridiculous. Look elsewhere for your employment search needs. Indeed had gone down the toilet, indeed.
Hopefully we can find qualified candidates to put to work as soon as possible. Just won't be from here.
Blocked my account with 0 warning.
Absolutely terrible. Block my account with 0 warning. I had over 100 applicants in a post in under 72 hours, and they decided to block my account. As a independent recruiter, who is trying to build his own firm, it's impossible to have a cash flow for posting. Don't waste your time with them.
Hi David, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard reviewing process. The account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not show these openings in our search results. The account will remain in its current disabled status. As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
I just received this email after appealing indeed account disable decision. This is ridiculous as Indeed was not going to give any guidance on what we did that makes our account unsuitable for them.

Update #2: after changing my rating to a favorable one, they disabled my account again. Absolutely ridiculous.
Update: after posting the review, Indeed reached out and fixed my account.
As many others have said, my account got disabled before I could even post a job. I recently started my own business and needed to hire someone. They asked me for some documentation, I sent it in then got the response "It appears that your request may require specialized attention and our Client Success team can better assist you. Please view our Help Center for further assistance with this issue." I've reached out several times since then and NOTHING! No help whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and use literally any other site than Indeed.

I Hope you're doing great! We had a great discussion before about all the rules & regulations. As you guided me & we all learn by your team guidelines. I'm again facing an issue with your team and I wanted to discuss it with you to help me out and guide me again with this issue. Few days back i accidentally just put a full form of my company name like EFU LIFE ASSURANCE LTD. is the real name but accidentally i wrote EASTERN FEDERAL UNION which is the full name of the company but mentioning that issue they disabled my account without any warning or any information & guideline. I am BRANCH MANAGER of the company as I have shared all my details as well as my visiting card with you before to prove my validity. I'm trying to fulfill and be on your rules but be polite a little bit to guide or to give information about anything done wrong rather than disable my whole effort. INDEED didn't give any training to employers for hiring so we'll learn by your mails and by your details. We're a legally registered company in Pakistan and we're at the same address on which we're hiring and giving jobs.We have vacancies but for announcement we need indeed a platform so be humble & and a little bit concerned before diabilling because it ruins all my effort targets and routine work. We post free jobs and hire freely. We don't take any charges for hiring. We don't have any HR Department. We have to hire people on our own and it's a part of our job. I want to make an easy way to solve the problems instead of blocking accounts. Please share some more rules with me so I can learn through them easily. We're humans, we can't be so perfect to do anything. Perfectly I apologize for all my mistakes but help me out to get my account back and make it live so i can continue my work.
THANK YOU! I AM WAITING FOR YOUR POSITIVE RESPONSE

They have a site on the internet and it does stuff. On the internet super highway. Find work. And all of that stuff if you know what i mean
Waited weeks for a response from our representative *. Apparently he didn't like that I wanted accountability and a basic response so they disabled our account. I mentioned IT glitches within the system and zero response. I waited roughly 2 weeks for a response, nothing. Called in and another worker assisted me, recognized the problem and refunded me. Was then charged another almost $300 when we rejected each applicant within the time constraint of 72 hours. A day later with 0 warning, explanation, or resolve on their end for their unwillingness to perform their job, our account was disabled. Right after we receive roughly 8 applicants and our business is on the brink of collapse. After we have spent literally thousands of dollars to sponsor postings on indeed throughout the past 2 years, done.
I've never experienced an entity turning back on the customer and blaming them for their own inefficiencies. As this is the mainstream way of hiring, these "managers" or case representatives actions can not only affect dozens of families from received child care but they can dictate whether a business succeeds or crumbles. It's no wonder small business is collapsing left and right.
The implications of such unwarranted restrictions to our account will have dire consequences and will likely collapse our business. In this event I will personally go after Indeed and these two managers for malpractice, internal bias, and discriminatory practice. Someone from corporate or a higher ranking manager might want to fix this and actually care about the customers they are serving.
Worst experience of my life during some of the most trying times of our generation. Shame.

I am a startup and had our account disabled after a one day. Told me to submit documentation such as a utility bill, my tax ID. Without giving me a chance to prove that I am legit my appeal was denied. Now because of that other job posting companies are telling me The are not able to post my job Offer ANYWHERE! When you are a new business and theses barracudas are saying stuff like that it can damage you:
"As we cannot get your jobs listed anywhere I have gone ahead and canceled your account with Betterteam."
Who is regulating these companies? What is our recourse? They don't even deserve 1 star!
Hi, we have reached out via PM, please take a look and reply as soon as you are able so we can assist further. Thank you!
We were looking for salespeople and my boss asked me to post a listing to recruit candidates. I did this, and then sent the required proof of insurance to verify the business.
Got an email that said my account was confirmed, so went in to check my job post, and to my horror found that the account was disabled with not explanation!
I spent a lot of time crafting the ad and going through the process and I'm very upset they wasted my time.
What a joke!
Hello Nathan, thank you for reaching out. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there so we can further assist.
Your ability to post jobs on Indeed.com has been disabled.
So my suggestion is to stay far away from them. I haven't logged into this account for roughly a year so there is no reason for this to happen.
Hi, Daniel! It appears your account is going through our standard review process, we have reached out via PM with additional instructions.
After successfully loading two legitimate job adverts, making sure the billing was correct and receiving many responses Indeed suddenly suspended our business account. I logged two appeals and submitted Company verification documents to them on two separate occasions. I called the call centre and spoke to them on three different occasions. We have just been rejected again. We have many prospective candidates who we cant reach out to. Its been over two weeks of back and forth and I dont' know where to turn next.
Hi Mandy, we have sent you a PM with an additional explanation and the next steps. Thank you.
They shut us down without a warning! We consistently spend hundreds of dollars on our hiring ads for sales managers and sales closers. Which when they get hired are extremely excited to work with an ethical business with great pay where they get consistent growth and education to excel in their skills.
We are a startup in the education space that consistently provides first class job opportunities and growth for all our employees!
Out of all the jobs posted we have the most competitive pay and therefore we get consistent applications that we rely on to provide company growth and support all our team members in our company!
They dont communicate anything!
I even reviewed all their policies and there is nothing we've done wrong!
I cant believe they destroy business growth for solid companies & startups that need world class talent!
DO NOT RELY on INDEED. It will hurt your business.

Our company's account was disabled shortly after posting a job ad. I rejected the decision immediately! I then received a response so generic and denial with no details saying the decision was final. I have read through the terms and contract as well as posting guidelines. We have done nothing wrong and have no recourse. A company should not operate like this, I have everything to prove we are a legit company trying to hire people. Waste of time and money for all these employers.
Hi Dawn, it appears your account is going through our standard review process. It is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status that you're now experiencing. In this case, you will need to submit an appeal to our moderation team explaining that you will provide documentation for your business for review. This can be done by logging into your account, when you go to your dashboard you will see the option that states “appeal this decision” or “contact us” and you can begin filling out the form. Once it's submitted our moderation team will follow up with you directly within the next 24 hours via email from employersupport@indeed.com. Thank you!
You have disabled my account with no reason. I'm happy to resolve the issue, not given me the option. I rely on indeed - please re unable my account ASAP
Ive paid £500+ in advertising
I was told the below:
Thank you for your time and patience while we reviewed your Indeed account.
After further review, the decision has been made that your job postings cannot be shown on Indeed. For your reference, please see Indeed's terms of service(https://www.indeed.co.uk/legal?hl=en&redirect=true#tos) and our Job Posting Best Practices.
No further action is required on your part. No additional details regarding this decision have been provided. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I just started a new business and posted a job looking for employees only to be instantly blocked and given no reason why. My post followed all requirements and I can't believe as a new and small business they just instantly block.
UPDATE:
Indeed still has me jumping through hoops to get my account enabled again even after giving them the supporting documentation they requested. I've had no answer and they continue to give me unclear reasons as to why my account has been disabled and what I need to do to enable it. This is the most unprofessional and frustrating service for a new business looking to hire employees.

Indeed disabled my company's indeed account. They asked me to provide some documents and I provided even more than they asked for and yet there is no response from them. I have hired a lot of people from Indeed and I am really shocked that they will ghost me even after I provided them with everything they asked for.

People just click these to show "they are looking for a job". Out of the recruits, most are failures. Most don't show. The high costs of advertising with them does not yield good results. The new price structure, was $10 per application now its $30, its a terrible system. You could sink money into this fast, and they will take it. We have used for a long time, but seems they are getting greedy on costs. We now use Facebook and social media for free to advertise, with better results, that cost, well, nothing.
Hi, when a job is posted on Indeed it is publicly available for anyone to apply for. Also, Indeed does not have control over candidates that apply to positions and we do not control candidate behavior. That includes not showing up for interviews. Feel free to reach out at sitejabber@indeed.com if you ever need additional assistance in the future.
I've had an employer account posting jobs for open handyman positions, and without any notice, my account was closed for being "in violation of Indeed's terms of service". I appealed the decision and offered my company website, and proof of business ownership. Instead of communicating WHY, they just decide to not allow me to post - POSTS I SPONSOR BY THE WAY. Find another site, this one does not care about helping small business owners find candidates.

Wtf they disabled our account during the interview process. THIS COMPANY IS TRASH. Please do something about these!@#!@#
400 resumes to review and they disable us as soon as we log in to review them?
No reason?
Customer service tells us trust and safety has reasons. We verified our postings before listing, its not our fault..

We have been using indeed for years and have spent thousands of dollars each month on job postings! Suddenly, indeed disabled all of our accounts without notice. They then requested information to verify we were a legit company. After sending in all of the correct documents that were requested, we are still denied! We have applicants waiting to set interviews as well as ones that we haven't even looked at! We should be charging indeed back for those missing applicants! Why wouldn't they work with loyal, paying customers on issues? Instead just cancel them with vague responses? Unbelievable. They are extremely unprofessional! Save yourself the money and headache!
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.

Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
