I've been a paying customer of Imagekind. Com since 2022. The site appears to have gone offline sometime in 2024—it's now just a placeholder page wishing visitors happy holidays. Emails to support bounce back, and there's no way to log in or cancel service. Despite this, I'm still being charged a monthly fee. After contacting my bank, I was referred to CafePress, which acquired Imagekind in 2008. However, CafePress now claims they sold the company and have no records or responsibility, even though public information still links Imagekind to their brand. There is no clear ownership, no customer support, and no way to cancel the service from the customer side. This is an unacceptable business practice and borders on fraud. I've filed a complaint with my bank, the BBB, and the FTC.

Updated review

The site is down for good and bye-bye. The site lacked action and neglected its duty for a while, early in 2024. Nothing to be missed for sure.

Iamgekind sucks bad really bad.
- Hold up payment for 2 months long.
- Terrible tech support: My pages with many empty squares due to trouble uploading images.
- The support person could easily give me instructions to remove those empty squares but she never did.

Run the other way

This company takes advantage of artists. They haven't paid me in two years, and continue to ignore my emails any time I reach out to them. You have to contact support via email, which isn't efficient. And even though I've deleted all my artwork from their site, since they've refused to pay me, and although my artwork is no longer on their site, they continue to sell it through Amazon. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a print on demand company.

Artists in Skid Row, experiencing homelessness, continue to await payment. On October 31 2023, Imagekind acknowledged owing them $416.31 and instructed us to provide our PayPal information, which we promptly did but they stopped responding to our emails. We have other confirmed sales that haven't yet been reflected on our account. Imagekind please respond to our email request #*******.

I have had my art on this site since 2011. 1st they told me I needed a minimum of $50 in sales to withdraw my $.

There is NO way to withdraw money from the artist's account pages? I have well exceeded $50 in sales and have never received notifications of any sales via email NOR payment. I have Paypal set up on their account for payment as well. TOTAL SCAM. Stay way!

Unfortunately I can't sell my paintings from my Imagekind storefront, because images either don't show up at all, or can't be enlarged most of the time.
The technical support is friendly, but nothing changes.
I have complained about this for years.
The uploading is often impossible because of overload, it is difficult for customers to navigate the site, and the cellphone compatibility is impossible.
Their canvas prints are really beautiful and well done, but I want to SELL online. If nothing changes I will try to find compatible services.

I have emailed Imagekind and they either don't respond or don't respond to the issue that is raised. At this point, I don't care about the money they owe me, I just want them to stop selling my work on Amazon.

For anyone who is looking to sell your artwork online, look elsewhere. The commission rates are poor, and the customer service is even worse. I've been trying to get paid for the work I've sold for months now, without luck. Don't expect to get even a fraction of the value of your work, after all the fees they tack on. That's IF you receive a payment at all - which they ask for your SSN to do. Not a safe site!

I have had the same email and PayPal account for a couple decades, but somehow they had a problem with that, sent me a paper check dated October 2017 that I received in June 2018. Went to US Bank branch to be told a check older than 6 months wont be honored, even without a stale date on it. I have sent 3 requests for help in a month and get no action.

I ordered a poster from this site. First, it was supposed to be a standard size, but it came in a really weird size (11x15.24) that didn't fit in a standard frame. They lied about the size on their website. If you're looking to buy a nice print and just frame it with a store bought frame, tough crap. They probably want you to buy expensive custom matting and framing from them to fit their non-industry sizes.

I've tried to contact them and so far, I've had no luck whatsoever with customer service. They insist on their website that email is the fastest way to contact them, so I sent them an email and got the auto reply that I'd be contacted in 1-2 business days. It's been almost a week and I've heard nothing. I tried calling them and their automated system is maddening. After about ten seconds of music, it asks you every three seconds (not an exaggeration) if you want the system to hold your place in line and call you back. Eventually you give in because it's unbearable to listen to that nonstop for several minutes. I still haven't gotten a call back. No telling if they'll call me back, or how accommodating they'll be when I explain the problem. I'll update when/if they get back to me.

The bottom line is, they lie about the size of their products online and send you something that won't fit in a standard frame without expensive, custom framing/matting, and then they're nearly bloody impossible to get ahold of. Even if they call me back and work out something reasonable, this whole experience has been such a hassle over a dumb poster that I won't do business with them again.

I had been using Imagekind for nearly 15 years. For many years, they were highly reliable. They never required work be printed in "standard" sizes, so I really liked the prints of panoramas that I created. There was an actual person on their Customer Service line. They did canvas wraps and prints for me. Anything that I was unsatisfied with, they immediately re-did to my satisfaction. Then, suddenly it seemed [in the last 2-3 years], their "uploader" quite working [although the progress message on uploading always said that the image had uploaded, but no image ever appeared!]. Moreover, there was no longer a person at Customer Service. Their website insisted that the customer email a message, and they would respond. But they rarely did within a reasonable time period. At last, an email arrives, indicating that the uploader was not working properly [duh!] and would be repaired within days, which turned out not to be accurate!
In summary, Imagekind used to be my go-to online printing service, which I highly recommended to many other photographers. My last successful order from them, after many complaints & "uploader" and then production problems, was in may-june, 2023. With persistence and on-line research, i ultimately got through to one of the owners. He admitted they are having trouble updating the old software for the user interface. He confirmed that my images were, in fact, uploaded, but that the thumbnails of them, which are crucial for sizing and costing a potential order, was not working. He suggested that i find a previous order that contained a similarly-sized image for printing, and use that as a cost-basis. He was totally patient in explaining their problem, was hopeful that the company could be "resurrected" to its former glory, and invited me to stick with them—that he would fast-track my order so i have it in time to meet an exhibit deadline. My plan is to try to order a couple of custom prints from them, and see how they do.

Imagekind.com Great showcase site - This site is for contributors from all walks of the visual artistic community and offers 4 levels of membership. It is run by Cafe Press.

FREE - 24 images into one gallery, up to 10 tag words per image, 2 categories for image placemant (eg. Nature, B+W), cost is free

Annual Account - Priority placement, unlimited images per gallery, 250 galleries, 100 key words, 8 categories, cost $94.99 per year (Pro price for Platinum benefits)

When you place a hi res image - either downloading direct to the web site or using their dedicated FTP site your image will appear in your selected gallery. Once there you can customize the framing/matting and materials that customers will see when viewing each image (customers can also select their own options as well). Also you can set prices for either the individual gallery as a whole or on an image by image basis. Each process is very simple to use and clearly instructed.

Images in the individual galleries can be moved about by draging and dropping. You may also view other contributers web sites and become fans of their work, thus increasing the exposure of your own link. The art appears to me to be of a more "gallery" level product, rather than t-shirts and coasters sort of thing.

The site is clean to look at and easy to navigate. This is not one of those frenetic sites that makes you wonder where the buttons are. The customizing options are quick to function (no sitting about watching the clock spin). All in all a very useful site. My only complaint would be that they do not appear to hold competitions, but then I have only been there a short time. I would definitley suggest a look here.
