The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

Every issue is too much complicate. Please make it a little more simple.
I wanted to check on a notice I received from the IRS but I had verify my identity through ID.me. At first, I'm like why I've had my IRS account for years. Is this scam? So, I clicked off it a couple of times. After doing some research, I found out the government has implemented this program, to help verify people's identity, and prevent fraud. For example, I had a friend that had to do the same thing to login to him Unemployment account to do his weekly certification even though he had been receiving his unemployment checks for a couple months now. For me, I live in a very rural area, and I don't have a physical mailbox on my property. I have a P.O. Box. I've had it for many many years. When you do the selfie verification, my DL's has my physical address. All my secondary documents like utilities will have P.O.Box didn't know what the IRS had but I think it was my P.O. Box. So, when I went through all the selfie steps, it couldn't verify my identity. I had to do a video chat anyway. My rep was very professional, helpful, and friendly. The process took about 5 minutes at the most. I wasted so much time using the selfie option. I would advise using the video chat especially if you use a physical and PO Box address to conduct certain business. You never know which one the system will have you to verify.
The instructions and process were easy to follow. Everything worked the first time.
At first I thought this was going to be a convoluted process. Once I had read and gathered the necessary materials, the process went quickly. I very much like the level of security that this verification process appears to provide. Actually would like to see more companies use this technology.
Inputting my ID was really easy and smooth once I made it the other side the information I got definitely crushed me and honestly took all the wind out of my sails but God blessed me any way my son was here and that kept me online so not all bad just not a 5
I had set up an id.me account several months ago in anticipation of VA.gov moving there. Today, trying to login I got their slow countdown then NOTHING. Their help didn't seem to even consider this. Password reset didn't help. Finally, after trying four browsers (including Firefox), I found one that worked. Then, going to my VA medical, it ignored the id.me login account, and required me to once again authenticate my identity. Of course, it rejected my home voip phone for that, but WOULD LATER use the voip phone to send an authentication code. I only use this every few months, so now I have to make notes on how to make this thing work.
The log in process was complicated for a first timer but step-by-step instructions made it simple to execute.
Just to access the IRS payment plan and upload the required documents and self photo took over an hour. It was nothing less than frustrating as it kept rejecting my submittals based on picture quality. Signing up for a payment plan should be as simple as a 2 minute phone conversation.
The difficult part about ID.me when one has lived outside the US for a long time, dealing only with the local language, is to get acceptable documents in English showing one's postal address and one's Social Security number. (I finally found acceptable documents, though.) The rest of the process is easy and well explained. The great part is that one can interrupt the process and come back to it later at the place one left off at.
The IDme process for the IRS was simple and easy. It took less than 10 minutes to complete from beginning to end
The process is easy enough for anyone to use, even with no computer experience.
I applied for video verification and got it arranged within a few minutes. The entire verification process takes less than ten minutes. The service is very efficient and the service staff is very friendly.Amazing experience!
Gave my personal information. No follow up. No information on status of my application.
Overall experience was quick and easy. I had issues with the selfie part of Identifying, so I had to join a video call to complete the process.
I got a bill from the IRS for $52. I scanned the square to pay it. I got sucked into this obstacle course of giving them all my personal data. Name, address, SS#, a copy of my driver's license, a video scan of my face, everything they would need to steal my identity. Then I got a non-specific error message that "something went wrong". I couldn't got forward. I couldn't go back. I just had to quit. So, now they have all my information and I didn't even get to pay my bill. All I can do is worry and wait. That is so very messed up. Thanks a lot IDon't.me! {vacant stare}
I had an awesome experience verifying my ID, hope this ID.me is going to help me in the further assignments.
In addition to the need to shorten the software maintenance time, the application experience is still very smooth, and it is recommended to use it.
Me gustó la entrevista con el agente porque hablo en mi idioma y fue muy amable y confiable
I was pleased to note that the IRS made the effort to protect me from fraud.
The process used was relatively simple and well organized.
