Please give me the option to extend sessions for at least a month. I use 2FA and have to constantly get my SIM card and log in again. You are incentivizing turning off 2FA, which is a terrible security practice. A constantly accessible SIM card is not a reality for everyone, mine doesn't leave the house for theft prevention and other security reasons. There is also no sensitive data on this account, to please let me decide what is a good security practice in my situation. Thank you!
Told to be a tech guy (years ago), but it was bad advice. Staff are multitasking when they would have trouble single tasking IMO, and they are not helpful to a non tech person like me. In fact they are very UNHELPFUL. I'm currently looking for another provider that actually provides intelligent support!
Still have not received the refund for the Site Lock you all cancelled with them that I am paying for. Still have the prior issue on my site. Customer service is atrocious and I have actively been recommending GoDaddy to the ten people this month I've helped with sites rather than you as I previously have.

HostGator is a prime of example of what happens when a business tries to cut as many corners as possible with their web hosting. Since its inception, it seems it has been a standard procedure to store client passwords in plain text which is certainly not a great security practice (and was even known as a bad security practice in the early 2000s). They are often overselling their platform and thus are putting their clients in a bad position where there are not enough resources to serve all of their customers.
Their support is notoriously slow and agents often misunderstand what the client is asking, requiring multiple people to get involved when the issue is resolved by a single agent on competing services.
Would not recommend them at all even if you're in need of a cheap option.
Your products are good and are of quality. However, your support team, particularly your live chat support team doesn't really put their tasks/job at heart. They are just like robots commanded to run specific tasks and they cant adjust themselves depending on the situation... It's not all of them, around 10-20% of the time, they do help me really, but the rest of the time, they dont.

The Interface was perfect and I could find everything. You decided to change the interface for improvement reasons. Now I cannot find everything right away. Because of this interface change you did, I now have to look for another hosting company. What you could have done is to have both interfaces and allow the customers to choose between the old and the new one.
Extremely problematic to refund payment on CC, 4 days after signing up without any prior explanation or warning - only to find out that the service was canceled. No notice on the email, I had to enter the support chat to get any information.
The steps needed to get from logging in to the part of the website I want to access is just more than needed. After passing on any advertisement that is in my face the first time I log in, it should be avoided the next thirty times I log in. I should be able to log in and immediately be on my home page without being slapped in the face with an advertisement or pushing of products every single time.
Nearly no one at tech support knows what is going on with anything at all. The one consistent answer is, I don't know what went wrong but it will take 7 business days before it will be fixed. This went on for well over a month. 6 weeks and then I finally had enough. Nearly every tech support person didn't know what was going on, they couldn't fix it, I was often hung up on when they realized it wasn't going well, and those who stayed until we finished the call pleaded for a great review. Ugh.
I canceled service 2016, tried to call customer service, sent screen shot realized I was being charged for 5 years, in order to retain customer service told it would be escalated hindering me from wanting to make a website on hostgator and pay for domain service.

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
