I have been trying to update my website for the past month, I dont get any support or feedback when I log a ticket. I have logged a ticket 3 times already. I have been with hostgator from 2016 but the service is very bad in the last year.
I have been trying to get my website SSL fixed that was issued through HostGator and every time I've called I've either been disconnected or placed on eternal holds just to be told that they will need to have a manager look at the problem because it is beyond the rep. On the phone, ability to handle the issue. So then they never got back to me until my 5th successful not disconnected call I finally got a manager to reply via email and his email contained instructions on how to fix the issue! Lol are you kidding me why just fix it and write me what you did to fix it instead of how i can DIY the issue. Its just sad i regret ever switching to HostGator I have lost tons of business and am very displeased that they careless about their customers ability to use their product which is paid for in advanced for the year and a top tier plan at that.
Since creating my account, the hosting package has been pending. I spoke to someone over live chat who said it would take 2 hours just to process. 4 hours later nothing had changed so spoke to another person who then said it would take upto 8 hours. It has now been 15 hours and again nothing has changed I still cant access or do anything. For the amount of money spent I would expect much better service.
I loose SSL every now and then, Currently website gives 403 error and I cant access the site. And your agent says it's because of ssl again. Why cant the site just be up consistently like other hosting platforms?
I heard y'all were great and I have found that to be true. Whenever I have had any issue the HostGator team has always been excellent at answering questions and solving problems. Must admit... I also love the gator!

I forgot my pin. They asked for a new email to verify. 2 days letter. They have asked me for a court letter from a judge. Bank statements. Articles of incorporation. Business licenses. I have been hung up on twice. Promised to be called by managers - no responses. I have told them I need my email to work for critical work issues, and for my kids school. No response. Its a holiday weekend and they are still asking for more and more information. They told me to pay more for more storage and that would solve the issue. I paid more money it didn't work - but they asked me for a court order from a judge to prove I am the owner of the company. Unbelievable. Run don't ever do business with this company - their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced in my life on this planet. Not even close.

We had our website on HostGator VPS Hosting for a number of years - it's an older site with older software, but we update the products on it at least once a week. Last week they moved our website to a new server with no notice to us. The new server destroyed our website - no pages would load and every link gave a 500 Internal Error. I called their support and basically everyone who I spoke to refused to provide any help at all - they promised to do something (to get a good review on their review system), but did absolutely nothing. We are working with a new hosting company and have spent tons of hours trying to recover from their horrible service. I would never recommend this company!

Billing is not clearly labeled, for example what SSL for what domain you were automatically billed for or getting billed twice for the same SSL while it was not even installed. The portal is very SLOW. Chat takes a long time to help as they usually don't have the answers at hand. I don't feel I can always trust support with people that are not trained properly or don't have enough knowledge and experience. For some overseas tickets, you are not sure they can understand your issue, or they do not respond even after asking the same thing a few times as it's never the same person that answers a ticket. Don't feel that valued as a customer or that I'm getting a quality service.

1. I recently discovered that the hosting service no longer offers unlimited hosting at an affordable rate. Unfortunately, the hosting changes now restrict me to only three websites on the Business plan that I have been using for years. It took me three years to establish californiahomerealty.com, and now I am unable to create additional websites. As a result, the new WordPress website I started building is currently displaying a blank page.
Two issues: Every time I sign in to my account it automatically tries to suggest a password instead of me being able to use the password I saved. It's really annoying that I have to go find my password every time and plug it in manually.
2. The links on my account do not go to the proper pages - I have two accounts and they are mixed up with links.
Been a Multi media designer for 18 years, and I have learnt through time who the best hosting companies are. I am slowly moving all my clients to host gator as all the staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly each time. The regular price was similar to my current provider and included SSL (what i feel is essential to running a website). While they often brag about their customer service, it has not been my experience that their customer service is anything special, while I have been impressed with the care i have received so far.

The new set up in the my account area is horrible The fact that it shows the websites under hosting too and then I have softalicious sites, keeps over lapping or something. I keep losing my sites. I can not work on them in file manager or even find plugin manager in wordpress anymore either. I am chancing host next month.
Webpress support is good as well as decent interface.
I wish you guys a bit better on renewals. Each time you want to screw us with your high prices but then give discounts. It has been 10 years now still you try every year. You must build a database, lets have his personal site no cost do not try to charge extravagant like it is a giant microsoft website. This is a guy barely pays his house mortagge.

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
