Karlee Lowe, our assigned escrow officer, almost cost us a house. The mobile notary came by our apartment on Saturday and informed us to wait for Karlee Lowe's instructions to transfer the closing funds. On Tuesday, May 12th in the afternoon, she sends us an email along the lines of, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize this didn't send properly on Friday, it got bounced back! By the way, money's due ASAP!" (If you know how emails work, you will know this is an excuse, because when emails bounce back, it is an immediate automated response). Mind you, the scheduled closing date is today, May 13th. Our funds are in the money market. Had Karlee Lowe actually done her job, the funds would have been available to wire to escrow yesterday, but because she is incredibly incompetent, it caused massive stress between all parties (us the buyers and our agent, the sellers and their agent were also pissed, rightfully so). If anyone ever looks at reviews, NEVER use Homelight Title and Escrow. And if Karlee Lowe ever quits or gets fired, I hope every realtor, potential seller, or buyer out there sees this review and if they see Karlee Lowe's name on their documents, insist on changing to a different escrow officer if you want to save yourself the headache.
